Until we decided to do this post I had forgotten how many Thrift Store Chairs I have rescued over the years. I have always had a hard time passing up a great looking chair. The more pathetic the chair the bigger the challenge. I remember one wing chair had cat barf all over it (my kids were mortified when I rescued that one). It still resides in my guest room. Another wing (I have a thing for wing chairs) was covered in Pink Velvet and came from a ravenous smokers home. I had to leave it ...

Statement Chairs & New Project Design on Friday!!
It's time for Project Design again! This time we are taking on the task of repurposing a Craig's List or Thrift Store chair in "Exceptionally Clever Chair Makeovers" Im a firm believer in letting neutrals reign in a room, preferring to add color and pattern in pillows and accessories that can be easily and inexpensively changed. However choosing a single high-impact chair in an strategic spot can create drama and fun. Taking a Craigs List or flea market chair and reupholstering or slip ...
A Stylist’s New Farmhouse Kitchen
My friend Roxanne is uber talented. She does beautiful floral arrangements and can style the heck out of a room. She and her husband Steve have lived in their house almost as long as we have lived in ours. She is my age; her children have long been gone, and she now has a passel of grandchildren. She not only has great design sense but is a fabulous cook as well. Her old kitchen was isolated from the rest of the house and dated. Let's take a look at a Stylist's New Farmhouse ...

Six Cheap Chic Coffee Tables Under $400
While shopping for a coffee table for clients I came across this beauty on Etsy. I am smitten with this one and at $325 it is an incredible bargain. source I love this one from Overstock. The Stylish Bernal Heights Digs of Kelly Lack & Jon Solorzano
First off I would like to thank Kelly for graciously allowing me to interview her. I spotted her darling house on Refinery 29 (you can read more about it here). She and my daughter were childhood friends, and swam and played waterpolo together from the time they were tots. I have watched Kelly grow up. When Kelly and Jon married in Big Sur several years ago we got a peek at what was to become her bespoke signature style. Let's take a peek at her stylish bernal heights ...
New Year New Slate.. Black & White Love
I don't know why but it seems when the New Year approaches I am in the mood for a black and white post. Together these two colors make a bold statement, yet they work well in both classic and modern interiors. So let's ring in the New Year right with some classic black and white. This gorgeous hall blends both beautifully. How about replacing that dated travertine with some graphic black and white tile? This fabulous den by Sean Anderson adds just the right amount warmth and drama. Doesn't it ...
Napa Valley Showhouse Part 2
The second house on the Napa Valley Showhouse tour was owned by bachelor winemaker Drew Neiman. Here are my favorites from that house. We loved the masculine home office designed by Erinn Valencich of West Hollywood. Loved the French cushion on the daybed. We used this same application in the bunk area of our Tahoe Project. Miyuki Yamaguchi did an amazing job on the downstairs bath in this home. This was a favorite of all three of us. source Love the use of the high and low. The ...
