Fun Resort Ready Over 50 Outfit you Need Now

Happy Sunday Everyone! Today I am joining my pals Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday Fab Five. Today lets talk about a Fun Resort Ready Over 50 Outfit you Need Now, Nora Murphy, AARP fun, and a fascinating docuseries on Netflix.

NORA MURPHY COUNTRY HOUSE ON INSTAGRAM

Do you follow Nora Murphy on Instagram? Her Instagram account is filled with beautiful snippets of her home and garden. I think you will enjoy it if you aren’t following her.

Her home is in Connecticut. I love how she layers in elements from the sea in her decor.

I adore this room. I am guessing Nora has to winter some of her outdoor plants inside when the temperatures drop. Look at the size of the orchid!

Nora’s book (mine is buried in boxes) Nora Murphy Country House Style is filled with much more of what you see here. You can purchase Country House Style on Amazon here.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK-RESORT

I just love the tiered prairie-style dresses but I have yet to find one that looks decent on me. This one from Sundance comes in black, white, and yellow. It might just be the one. The purse, shoes, and earrings are from Etsy. The sun glasses are from Ray Ban, and the fabulous hat from Hat Attack.

ARUGULA SALAD WITH PEARS AND GOAT CHEESE

I make similar salads to this one all the time. The dressing on this Arugula and Goat Cheese Salad from Family Style Food is perfection in my book. Our kids loved it too. FYI I finally invested in this salad dressing container and it has changed my life (haha). Why did I not have one of these before?

THE KEEPERS ON NETFLIX

The Keepers seven-episode docuseries explores the still-unsolved murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a teacher at Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Steve and I really enjoyed this one.

FYI BALLARD DESIGNS IS HAVING 20% OFF OUTDOOR

That includes the Suzanne Kasler collection that I love and have in my own courtyard, and the new chairs that I just received and love! I also LOVE these but they are back-ordered.

Well, that’s it from me. I hope you are having a great weekend. No let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie. They always have something I can’t live without!

    Hi Cindy,
It’s Monday already, but your Sunday posts never get old! I love the dress, the new to me designer, and the salad which I make different versions of all the time. I use a canning jar for my dressing, nothing fancy but it works!

Cindy, I have three cotton eyelet tiered dresses from Target! $39 so I bought black, “adobe.” and a gorgeous pistachio green. They are lined, too. Highly recommend! And thank you for the Netflix rec.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Zoe

Isn’t that outfit fun? I think that jacket works for so many! The colors are so complimentary to many of us!

  8. Jean Marie Johnson says

    Cindy,

While my decorating style is more “Colorful Old World,” I love your talent for styling rooms. I do lose myself in your vignettes! This time, I am particularly enthralled with the outfit. Not only is it in my favorite color combination, but it allows for “showing some skin, Just as you have opened up the conversation about gray hair, face lifts, and such, how about the matter of women over 50 showing some skin? I don’t think we need to be buttoned up and covered up all of the time. A little bit of arm, neck, or leg here and there demonstrates that we embrace our timeless femininity and that we accept our age-related physical changes.

Again, I so appreciate your site!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Jean Marie

Thank you for your comment. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Black and white is timeless isn’t it?

  9. Mary Ann Pickett says

Yay! We need something to watch on television. LOVE your outfit of the week… so fun and cool!
Great to know about the Ballard sale!!

  10. Karen wisnovsky says

As always, I loved your post. Thanks for introducing me to the salad dressing keeper. I make min in small ball jars which is messy. BTW, I believe the plant you referred to as a large orchid it actually an amaryllis 🤷‍♀️.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Karen

Interesting about the plant it looks like a cymbidium orchid in the picture! I was doing the same thing Carol and finally broke down and purchased a proper dressing container!!

  11. Carol S. says

Good morning! Thanks for sharing that salad dressing jar! We’ve downsized and moved a couple times, and we’re left with only the top to the jar. I’ve been meaning to replace it! That salad right up my alley. Thanks Cindy, love all the fun ideas and will try the Netflix series. Hard to find a show both Mike and I like, but true crime tends to match up.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Carol

I am obsessed with that little salad container. That sounds like me (lid and no jar!), I agree with you Carol on trying to land on a show that both of us like! Steve liked this one as well!
