#10-Fall Wardrobe Items I am Coveting Right Now

I have to admit this one surprised me. I went through this list before around Christmas and this one did not even appear, but low and behold by the end of the month it did. This was a part of our Monthly Signature Style Series with Sarah and Kim. I am still coveting a few of them!

#9 UNDER-THE-RADAR WAYS TO STYLE JEANS OVER 50

We all love jeans, right? Sometimes we just need to think outside the box to make our jeans look more interesting, right? This post was one from the monthly Over 50 Style Edit that I do with my friend Jennifer from A Well Style Life.

#8 STYLISH COMFORTABLE SANDALS YOUR FEET WILL LOVE

I try to do this post every year and it always seems to be popular. Why? Because it is so hard to find stylish comfortable anything, right?

#7 THE BEST COMFORTABLE SNEAKERS FOR WOMEN OVER 50

We all need a few pairs of comfortable sneakers, and let’s face it they wear out if we wear them a lot. I plan to update this one soon so stay tuned (and be sure to share your favorite sneaks) so we can check them out as well.

#6 HOW TO ROCK AN OVER 50 TRAVEL WARDROBE HAWAII

My travel wardrobe posts are always popular. It is so hard to not overpack. I find any and all travel posts very helpful. Share any tips you might have.

#5 INEXPENSIVE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS OVER 60

I usually redo this post every year as well because I am always trying and finding new favorites. I am still currently using all six of these but plan to try out a new Vitamin C Serum. Any suggestions?

#4 A CHARMING VIRGINIA FARMHOUSE YOU WILL LOVE

This is a post I did on my IG friend Dylan’s home. Obviously, you all loved it as much as I did.

#3 REFRESH YOUR CLOSET BY BUYING VERY LITTLE

This post is near and dear to my heart. I am not a fashion blogger (although it sometimes looks that way). At heart, I am a collector in my home and my wardrobe. I try to create unique vignettes in my home with items I have collected and I do the same with my wardrobe. I think that is what makes ones style personal and unique.

#2 WEDDING ATTIRE FOR WOMEN OVER 50

I totally get why this post was so popular, particularly this year. It is so hard to find stylish mother-of-the-bride outfits that don’t look grandma, or cougarish. We all need help finding appropriate wedding guest attire as well. This is probably one of the options I am most asked about. We will be revisiting this in 2023 as well.

#1 BEST BLUSH FOR MATURE SKIN

I was kind of surprised that this was number one admittedly. I tend to redo this one every couple of years and it is always popular. Why? Because we need color as we age! My all-time favorite is on the list. I still use it and I know many of you rave about it as well.

The year’s faves are always interesting, right? You might enjoy reading your favorite posts from past years here. This year my favorites were VERY heavy on fashion. I think there are two reasons for this. I know many of my new readers came here for fashion. Also, most of us over 50, and particularly over 60 aren’t buying a lot for our homes. We have most of what we need or want. I love design and fashion. I hope those of you who came here for fashion can find something of interest to tweak your home a bit by collecting things you love. For those of you who don’t really care anything about fashion, I will continue to balance my decor posts with my fashion posts. I am an accidental fashion blogger (I hope you are listening Lisa Bayne?). It’s all about a collected look in my humble opinion.

Here is how you can help me bring you more of what you enjoy most. You can fill out my five-question survey here. You can also just leave a comment. It is simple as that. Thank you for reading the Best of Cindy Hattersley Design 2022. I will be back on Thursday with my scarf post that was scheduled for today. It has been raining cats and dogs so the weather has been to dreary for pictures!

I’m in the camp of people not able to do the ranking. Here is how I would rate them although they really are all of interest to me and hard to prioritize.
    1. Ageless Style interviews ( I hate to admit)
    2. Interiors
    3. Fashion
    4. Entertaining/recipes
    5. Makeup
    6. Self care
    7. Garden
    8. Travel
    9. PR area
Of the several bloggers I follow, I feel that you are in the top 2 of keeping things fresh and interesting. You’re always fun to read!

    Hi Cindy,
I love your site. I am more interested in home and garden posts, but your fashion and other style tips are always welcome too.
I couldn’t get the ranking thing to work but I’m sure anything you post I will enjoy.

Timeless or Paula’s choice Vitamixn C, both very good products that are affordable. I love the mix of things in your blog. That’s what makes it interesting.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Pam

Thank you so much. I have been using the Timeless for several years. I will give Paula’s choice another look as well! Thank you!!

I agree, the variety of topics you cover is great. I have been intending to write and thank you for the Hawaii Capsule wardrobe post! My husband and I traveled to Florida (from Ohio in December) and your suggestions were so HELPFUL. I was surprised that I needed a light wrap or sweater some evenings. We had a general plan for the trip but, this list gave me options for each unexpected activity! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I love the current variety of your blog. (My favorite blog by the way). Keep up what you are doing!! Happy New Year!!

Your description of who you are and what your blog is reflecting is spot on why I find you so interesting. I love creating little vignettes in different rooms… could be simple things from nature ( acorns from the New Forest in southern England ,or twisted branch with lichen from a forest walk ,or interesting stones from the beach down the road) ,a grouping of tactile little baskets or gourds, or various collectibles with a heart theme . Seasons give way to new vignettes, which is enormous fun.
I look at accessories somewhat the same way… collected items from trips that pull together a look. Your southwest jewellery collection is an inspiration,Cindy. I am absolutely silly about finding scarves or shawls on my travels…something that might inspire a new combination with items in my closet.
Keep on inspiring us with your wit, enthusiasm, and excellent eye for style…whether it is decor
    or fashion.

Gosh, I feel really dumb this morning, but I cannot figure out how to do your ranking system in the survey. 🙁 all I can do is click on them. Am I doing something wrong? I would like to give you my answers. 🙂 Your blog is my very favorite and the one I look forward to the most! Happy New Year!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Denise

The last question is the only one you need to rank. Just click on the item like you did and give the one you like most the nine. click on the next item and rank it by clicking on the numbers at the bottom. Let me know if that works for you.

      • Sasha says

The ranking didn’t work for me too. I can’t type the empty box that (I think) you can fill in on the first few Qs.

        • Cindy Hattersley says

          Hi Sasha

I have tried it twice and it worked for me. I wish I could attach a screenshot. Maybe you just think it isn’t working. If you click on interiors for instance and click on 10 then it ranks 10th. Then if you click on fashion for 9 it ranks 9. Once you have done them all you just click submit and it ranks them.

        • Cindy Hattersley says

For those of you that are having trouble feel free to email me with your choices and I can add them manually. I am so sorry it is confusing.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I live in an area where none of the women dress (their everyday look is an old pair of jeans and a sweatshirt or old tee) or wear makeup. If they ever did, that ship has sailed. We moved to the low country of South Carolina 4 years ago. I absolutely love this area for it’s quiet stunning beauty, but I miss having friends that I can talk fashion, makeup, and home design. So Cindy, you have helped fill that void for me! Thank you so much!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Sue

That makes me so happy. The low country sounds wonderful! Sometimes we have to make choices, right? Thanks for being a loyal reader. I so appreciate it. You ladies make the blog!
