Today Jennifer (A Well Styled Life) and I invited our friend Brenda from 1010 Park Place to join us for our Monthly Over 50 Style Edit. Let’s face it we are all wearing jeans much more than we ever did pre-covid. How can we elevate our everyday jeans look? Today I am talking about How to Make an Under the Radar Ways to Style Jeans Over 50
If you have been reading my blog long you know for me it is all about the importance of accessories in fashion and in the home to create a collected look interesting look. I know skinny jeans are supposedly out, but they still seem to be everywhere. In this post I have styled a pair of skinny jeans with numerous tops.
Here I am wearing a great shirt from Banana Republic (very impressed with their new line), with simple slim jeans,, items from my Native American Jewelry Collection, and (my Libeco throw) that I have often worn as a shawl.
In this photo I am wearing the shirt with the same jeans, Artemis design co loafers, and my favorite crossbody bag.
I love this Anthro Denim Duster. You could wear it on it’s own, with white leggings for summer or as I have here with a red tee, bright colored recycled paper bead bracelets , silver native American bangles and Artemis Design Slippers. It’s all about the accessories.
This lavender striped shirt is also from Anthro. I dressed it up with an old scarf, some Native American bangles and Artemis Design Co slippers.
I love Banana Repuclic’s new branding. When I walked in the store and spotted this scarf, I loved it! Here I am wearing it with my favorite no iron shirt from Chicos, jewelry from my Native American collection, and velvet birdies.
Here I am wearing a great white shirt from Banana Republic. This shirt is very similar to one of my favorites from Artful Home the Planet Artists Smock. I dressed it up with a necklace from Parham and Company, earrings from Federico Jimenez, and slides from Artemis Design Company.
This Banana Republic Shirt dress could be worn as a dress or as a duster over a pair of jeans as I have done here.

Great post! Love the way you belt scarves! So much inspiration! I am a jeans and blazer girl and I am always looking for a new third layer.
Can’t wait until we see how you give your new home your “Cindy” touch!
Hi Marcia
I love scarves and think they can look like an expensive jacket when belted. I will be sharing progress as we go along. Courtyard first!
This was one of your best posts ever! Yes, I want to wear jeans almost every day but don’t want to look too casual. Your shoe collection is spectacular and is a sure way to elevate jeans. I need to go shoe shopping! Love the scarf tied inside the collar and the broach at the collar, especially with the collar turned up. All great ideas! I’m anxious to shop my closet and see what I can put together! Thanks!
I so appreciated the recent face lift post. Invaluable information as I contemplate having one. Thanks!
You’re the best!
Hi Cyndy
I love love love jeans. I think Covid has made them more acceptable when dressed up! Email me anytime if you have any more questions about the facelift. I don’t want to belabor it here on the blog

Hi Teresa
Thank you so much! I so appreciate it!
Love the looks especially the up turned collar but do you find you end up with make up on the collar? How to avoid it?
Hi Rita
Yes I do end up with makeup on the collar. I use a lot of spray and wash!
I love how you can take great accessories to elevate a look and make everyday jeans look special! I still love and wear my skinny jeans.
Hi Kathy
I do too. I love the newer styles but when wearing a longer top or jacket it is hard to beat the skinny!
Love the way you always complete the look with jewelry and scarves, something I often skipped in the past but trying to mend my ways, (The Artists Smock Shirt from Artful Home is also my favorite!)
Hi Janet
The older I get the more important I realize accessories are in fashion and the home. They really give any look our own personality!
