Hi everyone Happy Sunday.  Today I am joining Annie, and Mary Ann (who is on her way to her daughter’s wedding in Spain) for our Sunday favorites. Let’s take a look at my favorites Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, Design Chic and more.

VIRGIN RIVER SEASON TWO ON NETFLIX

Did any of you watch the first season of Virgin River? A nurse practitioner moves from LA to a remote northern California town. I love the town characters including Tim Matheson as the loveable Doc. Who doesn’t love a good Hallmark movie, right? I loved it and am enjoying season two!

BABY GREENS WITH GRILLED SHRIMP AND CITRUS VINAIGRETTE

This is one of the dinner salads that I throw together with ingredients I have on hand. I always keep a bag of Trader Joe’s shrimp and scallops in the freezer.  Either one is great as a topper on this salad.  You can add or subtract whatever you want from this salad.  The citrus vinaigrette is the key.  I toss the shrimp in the tiniest bit of olive oil and cook quickly over a hot flame. This salad will serve 2 or 3 for dinner as the main course.

 

Eight Prawns

Approximately 3 c Baby Greens

1 large ear Leftover grilled corn

Baby peppers 1/4 c chopped

2 T chopped Red Onion

1/4 c Goat Cheese

Bon Appetit Citrus Vinaigrette

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE

I have to admit I am not a huge Nordstrom shopper, but this sale is a good time to pick up those items that you are not willing to pay full price for in season. So Susie Wright is a former Nordstrom buyer you might find her tips on how to shop the sale helpful as well

Here are my clothing and shoe pics from the sale.  I spent two and a half hours scouring the sale for the best deals,  Most of the items I picked are on the pricier side with the deepest discounts.  Most of the lower-priced items you can pick up later for not that much more.  This is the time you want to invest in those items that you normally find out of reach.
