A Charming Virginia Farmhouse you Will Love

Have you ever dreamed of owning a picture-perfect farmhouse in the Virginia Horse Country? Now is your chance to pretend. Come on in. We are visiting Dylan Samide (Dylansbmide on Instagram). Let’s check out a Charming Virginia Farmhouse You Will Love.

What’s not to love? The beautiful Fieldstone and brick facade with a welcoming front porch. Dylan is an expert thrifter with a great eye for what is good. Her home has a collected look with lots of character and charm.

This is Dylan’s entry. Can I just say I am gaga over that front door. I am sure it must be original. Only on an older home can you find such wonderful details. Love the beautiful stairway as well.

A charming Virginia Farmhouse Entry You Will Love

If you follow Dylan on Instagram you will see her often photographed breezeway. I find this to be one of the most charming rooms in her home.

Dylan Samides breezeway

She is constantly moving things around and restyling this piece seasonally and it is always on point. Did I mention she has a penchant for bamboo and gallery walls?

I believe this is Dylan’s living room or sitting room. As with most old houses, there are often many “gathering” rooms. I love the vintage pheasant prints above the fireplace, the newer brass lantern, the lovely fireplace, the blue and white. It is all just beautifully done.

I am not sure if this is the same room, but love the mix of the modern garden stool, vintage paintings, and of course vintage bamboo. She really is a master at mixing styles from different eras to form a cohesive mix. The epitome of “the collected look”.

Another sitting area, note the trio of vintage paintings, and beautiful textiles. All of her upholstered pieces are neutral which form the perfect backdrop. Almost every room has a beautiful live plant that brings the outside in, and grounds the space.

I am not sure where this piece is located but love how she created a charming drink station. Again note the beautiful plant on the vintage bamboo stool. Vintage bamboo pieces are scattered throughout the home.

This has always been one of my favorite squares on her Instagram. Beautiful styling.

I am assuming this may be the living room or family room. Is this fireplace gorgeous or what? Love the bobbin chair upholstered in chambray with the addition of the Jasper Indian Flower Pillow (one of my all time faves)

Here is Dylan’s fabulous kitchen. She rarely posts photos of it. I want to see more, don’t you? I love everything I see.

This is Dylan’s lovely dining room. I love the combination of the upholstered host and hostess chair with the beautiful antique side chairs.

Hi Cindy, just a heads up that an entity called Ownloves is using your picture in an ad on Facebook. I took a screenshot but can’t post it here.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Terry

Thanks for the sleuthing. I reported them to Facebook but I am sure nothing will happen. I have no idea who they are. I appreciate you letting me know!

So very well styled. Beautiful. The interior and exterior designs are. awesome.

Our tastes are somewhat changed guess to fit the old farmhouse, as say when we resided in Big D/( Dallas) still love the Mix of. Old, New…….
The biggest challenge is John being 6’8”, Furniture has to be hocker size as he tells me
    Sorry ya married an giant.

Thank you, so much for sharing all these
    wonderful posts.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Karen

My son in law is 6’8 so I know what you are talking about. The old houses with low ceilings must keep your husband ducking constantly!!

    • Dylan samide says

Thank you, Karen!! My taste and style has changed over the years as well. Love incorporating new things in with the old. Keeps it fresh but it sounds like you already know that!

  6. Jannie says

Such a beautiful home…reminds me of my home in Pennsylvania! Now that we live permanently on the gulf in Florida, my style has changed! Have always loved blue and white which is the basis of our new home! Thanks so much for sharing! PS: love your clothes but it’s too warm most of the time to wear! I’m in shorts and a tee on my lanai at 5:30 EST! 🌴🌞

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Jannie

I am so jealous that you can sit on your lanai in shorts and a tee this time of year!! Soon we will be wearing linen!

    • Dylan samIde says

Jannie, I love the Gulf!! The water is so incredible down there! Thanks for your compliments!! ❤️

  7. Annie Diamond says

    • DYlan SamIde says

Judy, I’m constantly moving things around! My kids are going to come home one day and fall in the floor! Have fun rearranging!!

  8. Nancy says

I normally don’t like farmhouse decor or farmhouse anything. I almost didn’t read this post.
This home is gorgeous! I love her style and use of color. It was certainly unexpected.
It’s just beautiful! Thanks for sharing…

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Nancy

This is a real farmhouse if you know what I mean. I think the term has gotten overused in recent years!

    • DYlan samIde says

Nancy, it’s so funny you say that because I feel the same way when I hear “farmhouse” these days. I’ve always loved vintage and antiques mixed in with new pieces but the Fixer Upper show changed people’s perceptions of what a farmhouse should look like. Thank you for the kind words!

  9. Nan of TN says

Beautiful classic American traditional style exudes fresh vitality! Lovely and serene with the blues and greens mixed with neutrals exemplifying the collected look. Fresh plants bring it all to life. Love every aspect of her home, as her style and color palette resemble my home. Thank you for sharing her today, Cindy!

  10. holly says

i have been following her for a while now and yes, she is funny, talented and constantly tweaking things. Oh, and her dog is pretty darn cute too……

  11. Wren says

Since I’m a sucker for blue and white, I was smitten from the first picture. I have never thought of combining blues with greens as she has. Love the Provençal prints and burnt bamboo pieces. Actually, I guess I love pretty much everything you show! Thanks for bringing her to my attention.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Wren

Isn’t her home just lovely? The plants and the bamboo…so much interest…

    • Pat says

Mixing green with the blue and white is something I am attempting to work on. So seeing Dylan’s was very timely. Wonder what brand or source for her dining table? Enjoyed the post and will follow her on. IG.

      • Cindy Hattersley says

        Hi Pat

Green and blue is such a lovely comboo. I think she plans to pop on maybe she will let you know the source for her table if it isn’t thrifted!

    • DYLAN SAmIde says

Wren, thanks so much for all the sweet compliments! I just put together things that I love and hope they work!
