Classic Cashmere

I am fortunate that I am gifted many wonderful cashmere sweaters. For the price the Quince cashmere sweaters are hard to beat. The Quince ladies sent me home with their newest version of the $50 Cashmere crew at LTK Con. It is a great classic fit sweater. I am wearing the Quince cashmere crew in size medium with my favorite Frank and Eileen jeans, vintage indigo mules and a scarf from Etsy.

I am wearing Quince’s heather gray cashmere v-neck ( I sized up to a large because I like mine oversized) with my Spanx faux leather pants and birdies velvet loafers.

J Crew Purple Cashmere Sweater

In this photo I am wearing the J Crew version of the crew neck in a muted purple shade. I sized up for a more relaxed fit. I paired it with the COS culottes and a pair of kilim slides from Etsy. They are one of a kind but you can find similar shoes here.

The sweater I am really coveting this year is this red turtleneck sweater from COS. It’s expensive. Their friends and family sale is currentlly going on but naturally this one is excluded! I ordered it, and I have to say it is incredibly soft and worth the price if you can cut it. The color is beautiful and it is beautifully made. I featured it in my outfit of the week in my Sunday favorites here.

I am wearing it here with jeans. Anything I buy now I consider the cost per wear (cpw). I would pair it with a denim skirt, a pair of black pants, or my favorite lily skirt at for the holiday season. This is a sweater I will wear and wear.

I took one for the team with this sweater color. I never wear this color (although I appreciate it on others). This sweater is from COS the pants from Quince (love them they come in several other colors) and some great mules from Etsy.

Mersea makes a lightweight what I would really consider a cashmere tee that is another favorite. I was gifted it last year and I have worn and washed it numerous times.

Travel Sweaters

I love a sweater that can be washed out in the sink and hung up to dry while traveling.

These oversized sweaters from Mersea for Travel, and everything in between are favorites!I love the side vents (split hem) for ease of movement and they are machine washable.  I was gifted the green one last year and this year I had to have the red. They are lightweight and you can wear them with a turtleneck, or a simple tee. They are the perfect light layer. They also come in a variety of styles, and colors including stripes.

Cotton Sweaters

Cotton Sweaters are great options for transitioning to fall.

The Frank and Eileen Monterey sweater is a great early fall option. It comes in multiple colors.

I own this ribbed cotton cashmere Quince sweater in green and black. The vertical ribbing is flattering, and it is a very versatile piece with a more fitted look. They are great for layering or wearing alone. I am wearing a medium. I cannot recommend these lightweight sweaters more highly. I paired it with the COS merino wool culottes I featured in my fall wish list here. I absolutely love the culottes and will pair them with multiple options in my closet. The boots are Pedro Garcia (old) but I have linked a similar pair below. The scarf is vintage Epice that I found on eBay. You can find similar here.

Vintage/Retro Sweater

I am a big fan of shopping the resale sites. I love many of Ralph Lauren’s vintage sweaters but his price points can be challenging. Do you remember the Ralph Lauren Country label from back in the 80’s? I remember going to the Palo Alto store and drooling over the offerings that I could not even begin to afford. Many of those and others from his line have become classics. I have a few pieces that I have scoured the resale sites for. I had been coveting this oversize cardigan sweater and finally landed it for a great price. Be patient if you are shopping resale.

I spotted this particular sweater on several different sites for three and four times what I paid. Take a screenshot, do a search and be patient. You can find many treasures. I paired this vintage Ralph Lauren sweater with jeans and loafers. This sweater would be great with a pair of riding boots and a jean skirt as well.

COS really has some wonderful sweaters this year but they are pricey. Their friends and family sale helps a bit. Of course most of the cashmere is excluded.   5. This post is right up my alley. Sweaters are my addiction. Sometimes I wish I lived in a colder climate than California just so I could wear sweaters for more months of the year. Also scarves take up a fair amount of space on the shelves of my closet, so I love your scarves. I love Quince and have been wearing their cashmere hoodie quite a bit this past year. But my mainstay over the years has been Lands End. Good quality cashmere at very reasonable prices.

  7. I love cozy sweaters, too. You have so many lovely ones. That RL you scored is a beauty! BTW you look beautiful in royal blue!
    I recently pulled out one of my favorite cashmere sweaters and found 2 tiny moth nibbles. Luckily in inconspicuous areas. Anyone have effective ways to keep the moths away?

  10. Hi Cindy! I’m always searching for quality v-neck sweaters that don’t have dropped shoulders. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack! I love wearing red and love the red sweaters on you. I also think the bright blue is flattering on you, although maybe because it’s one of my favorite colors with my gray/white hair.

      I think you will like the Quince V-neck I ordered it in large for an oversized fit. If you get your normal size it would work I think!
