Over 50 Fashion Should be Fun

If you have read my blog for long, you know that my fashion posts are not ordinarily filled with photos of me modeling the garments.  I am not all that comfortable in front of the camera.   I prefer to show you how you can put the outfit together with other accessories. However, this Andin Jacket by Aimee G for Artful Home forced me out of my comfort zone. It is an investment piece, but a lovely one!

This is one of the most interesting jackets I have ever owned. The fit is extremely flattering and the fabric gives.  I have the small and it fits me like a glove.  My daughter is more of a medium and it fits her beautifully as well. I have a feeling someone might be borrowing this one.

Please disregard the wrinkles and double chin.  Nothing like a real life model with plenty of faults!

The attention to detail in the design of this coat is wonderful. It is a cobwebby sweater knit over a grayish taupe liner. It has charcoal and gray suiting detail at the shoulders and wrists. For our mild winters here, nothing but a light turtleneck or tee would be needed underneath.  Add a heavier sweater and you could wear it almost anywhere in winter. For all the details check out the picture on the beautiful model.

Here is what I am wearing with my Andin Jacket.  It doesn’t need much accouterment, let it be the star.

From left to right top bracelet and bottom bracelets French Kande.  Middle bracelet thin faultline cuff from Artful Home, Andin Coat from Artful Home, Scarf Banana Republic, Shoes I am wearing are Franco Sarto (no longer available) these are similar only velvet! I LOVE this braided leather tote from one of my favorite boutiques in Paso Bijou.  If you click on the Instagram link and direct message Camilla I am sure she will get one to you! Spanx faux leather leggings.

You are so funny. You look positively wonderful but I can relate to being shy in front of the camera. I need lots of alcohol for a good photoshoot. ha. By the way i’m really loving this coat. And I totally agree about fashion being fun over 50. We really need to be wearing whatever makes us feel good.

Ha! We always say we all photograph better if we have had a glass of wine! Except our daughter, who is the only photogenic one in the family!

Good for you! You did it and the earth is still revolving. Great seeing you in that Andin Jacket. I love the way you put it all together. So the small fits you and your medium daughter. Maybe I would take a medium. I’ll have to check with @artfulhome to see what the dimensions are.
I love the way you combined the different textures. You make it even more interesting. Actually, you put it together the way you put together one of your design boards for a client. It really is a star piece and the two of you fit together perfectly! Nobody has double chins or lines.
