Quince Fall 2026: My Curated Picks for Women Over 60
Two years ago I wrote my first Quince fall post, and you all had a lot to say about it. Some of you were already devoted fans. Some of you were skeptical (and told me so, which I appreciate). Since then I’ve worn, washed and lived in a good number of their pieces, and my opinions have shifted. A few things I thought I loved didn’t make the cut. A few I dismissed are now on my wish list. You can find that post Build the Ultimate Over 50 Fall Wardrobe Capsule with Quince here.
So consider this the 2026 update. These are the Quince pieces I actually own and reach for when I build my autumn wardrobe, with honest sizing notes, a word on how they’ve held up, and a short list of what I’m coveting this fall. This is not a sponsored post. I just like a good piece at a fair price, and I know many of you do too.
As always, you don’t need a whole new wardrobe to refresh your fall fashion. A few high-quality pieces mixed with what you already own will do more for your personal style than a closet full of trends. Think of it as a capsule wardrobe you build slowly, one season at a time.
My Favorite Quince Sweaters
Cashmere is still the reason most of us found Quince, and it’s still where they shine. Nothing beats a lightweight cashmere sweater for our in-between California fall days, and their textured sweaters add interest without bulk. But I’ve learned which styles work for me and which don’t.

The Boxy Crewneck is my number one. It has just enough shape that it isn’t too boxy, and it doesn’t drown me. I wear a medium. I own it in red and the gray and camel are still on my list. I am wearing a medium.

The Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman’s Hoodie is my daily uniform with a pair of joggers and fur lined birks. Cozy without looking sloppy, which is the whole trick. I am wearing a medium.

Where I’ve landed on the classics: the shrunken cable knit (above) runs small. I am very long waisted so it doesn’t suit me well.

In the V neck. I size up to a large for a relaxed fit, but then the sleeves are too long for me. They now have an oversized version which I need to try!
That’s a fit issue, not a quality one. If you like traditional sizing, they’re a great buy. If you want an easier, slouchier look, go straight to the oversized or boxy styles.

Cardigans: the Australian Merino Duster Cardigan is unbelievable quality for the price (Jenna snagged mine, which tells you something). It is now only available in ivory. The quality is incomparable. The Fisherman’s Cardigan is much loved by many but button up cardigans aren’t my jam. Mary Ann and Annie rock them so I am sure they will have something to say about those.
Tops and Jackets

The Ribbed Cotton Top (cotton with a touch of spandex) is my go-to for early fall layering under a relaxed blazer or cardigan, when it’s warm at noon and chilly by dinner. I own it in black and olive. I wear a medium, but if I ordered again I’d get a large for a looser fit (to cover the spare tire, as I’ve said before).

I wear mine as a shirt in early Spring and Fall. The fit is not as loose as some which I find more flattering. It also comes in a darker wash and black. I am tempted to order both!!
Cozy Fleece
Quince has built a real following for its fleece, and I would be remiss not to mention it. If you want something soft and cozy for weekends, walks with the dog or travel days, their fleece pieces are well worth a look at a very friendly price. Full disclosure: I don’t wear them myself, only because I already own the originals I love and reach for constantly. But I know many of you will want to check them out. Steve loves these joggers.
Bags
I really do not need another handbag. And yet….
The Adeline Shopper Tote is the one I carry most often when traveling. It has a center pocket to hold my laptop, two pockets, and it even has little feet on the bottom to protect it, a detail almost nobody bothers with anymore. If I were a better blogger/influencer you would see it strapped to my suitcase whenever I travel. I find all of the videoing and photographing intrusive and try to keep it to a minimum so we can enjoy our travel!!
This crossbody bag is a dupe for the designer bag I carry most often on an everyday basis. I find it to be the perfect size to carry my wallet, sunglasses, phone and other incidentals.

The Transit Camera Bag is perfect for days when I want my hands free and don’t want to haul everything I own.
The Wallet is the right size, with a small front pocket for the cards I use all the time. Small thing, big difference.
Two Years Later: How Quince Has Held Up
The question I get most often is whether Quince is really worth it, or whether it falls apart after a season. Here’s my honest answer.
My cashmere sweaters still look good. Do they pill? A little, but so does my very expensive cashmere from a very famous makeer. A cashmere comb takes care of it in a few minutes. I wash mine in the machine on the delicate cycle in cold water and lay them flat to dry. Please don’t dry clean cashmere. It breaks down the fibers.
That’s the appeal of Quince for me. It’s quiet luxury: well-made pieces with no logos and no markup. My only real misses with Quince have been about style, not quality. The batwing sweater just isn’t me, and the traditional cuts don’t fit the way I like.
Some of you have had a different experience, and I always want to hear it.
What I’m Coveting This Fall: Suede Jackets and More
Now for the fun part. These are the pieces I haven’t bought (yet), but I keep going back to look at them. You know the feeling. Fall is the season I want to add texture, and this year that means suede. I’ve always loved the beauty of suede, and suede jackets are everywhere this fall for good reason. They feel rich without trying too hard.

A suede blazer is a piece I’d wear for years, not just one season. The olive is what sold me (you know I’ll pick olive over brown every time). I picture it with straight-leg jeans and a white tee for lunch in town, or over black trousers and a cashmere scarf when we go out for dinner. A good blazer is the easiest way I know to look pulled together. It’s the kind of jacket that makes a simple outfit look like you tried, without actually trying.
Italian Leather Glove Ballet Flat
These have great reviews and look like they are a ballet flat I could actually wear. Soft enough to wear over a bunion.
A travel tote without a crossbody strap can be hard to maneuver. This one is a good one!
Hudson Suede Tote in Chocolate
I don’t need another bag. We’ve covered this. But a soft suede tote in a rich chocolate brown is the exception that proves the rule. I’m an olive girl, but even I can’t resist this color in suede. It would work with everything in my fall closet, from denim to my camel sweaters.
And if I’m being honest, I can’t decide between the two totes. The Sienna in olive would carry the same color story as the blazer. Help me out here. Which one would you choose?
Double-Faced Merino Wool Draped Collar Wrap Coat in Oat
A heavy winter coat isn’t something I’ve needed much in Paso, but a well-made wool coat earns its place even in a mild climate. The draped collar is what makes it feel special. It’s polished without being stuffy. They also have a shorter version here.
Suede Chore Jacket in Olive Green
Longtime readers may remember that I once declared the chore jacket was not for me. I’m officially eating my words. In suede and olive, it feels less utilitarian and more like something I’d grab every day with a cashmere sweater, dark denim and my loafers or ankle boots. A woman is allowed to change her mind.
If you own any of these, please tell me how you like them. I’d love your honest opinion before I hit “add to cart.”
A Few Good Pieces Go a Long Way
What I love about Quince at this stage of life is that it lets me fill a hole or two in my autumn wardrobe without starting over. I’m not interested in chasing trends. I’m interested in pieces I’ll still be reaching for in five years, worn with the vintage finds and investment pieces I already own. That’s how personal style is built, and how a wardrobe starts to feel like yours.

Cindy, I appreciate your thoughtful approach on this post! After two years of wearing Quince cashmere, I’ve found that the textured or ribbed cashmere shrinks when washed, so it must be dry cleaned, but any of the smooth cashmere can be washed and dried flat. They look like nee!
I too love the suede bags!
I own many Quince cashmere sweaters. I agree that the oversized Mongolian versions fit me best and the dark brown is absolutely lovely for fall. I recently purchased the Quince olive suede chore jacket and I love it! It’s beautifully made and the color is a rich olive. The suede is soft and its very comfortable to wear. The front pockets are at a perfect height and the sizing is standard. I highly recommend it!
Yippee! Thanks Missy I am ordering it right now! Was it true to size?
I love quince. I can tell you that the glove ballet flats fit true to size and are modern and so comfortable. I’m looking forward to wearing the red cashmere cardigan. It’s yummy
Hi Camille
I am so glad to hear that about the flats!!
Hi Cindy,
Will you share the company that is the slip on blue shoe that you are styling with the denim chore jacket please. Are they comfortable and wide enough?
Thank you for Quince.
Age late 60’s, and putting together my first full wardrobe since college. Professionally was in horticulture, self-employed, wearing white shirt/jeans daily. Your body quite similar to mine, have stared down your body pics, ahead of purchases often. Quince is getting most of my orders, and very pleased.
My home, 5 acres, is ca. 1900 and kept quite cold in winter. Propane bills are no joke in middle rural Georgia, they are seriously more than friends living ‘normal’ lives in Atlanta. But that cannot get me back to city living. Winter clothes choices must also be comfortable to wear inside, multiple layers. Looking good is fine, staying warm in winter is the hunt.
It’s amusing, locally, meeting up with other women my age living in older homes. They do the same things, only a couple of rooms ‘warm’, and always bundled up.
Across this year of stocking up on Quince clothes, have had many compliments from oddest source, women in their 30’s. Amusing how relieved they are, the clothes are reasonably priced !
And, I continue buying thrift store clothes.
I adore wearing a men’s suit jacket, wool, from thrift store, size small, with a belt. Quince cashmere included underneath, Quince pants or wool leggings. Over time, have collected 7 different color ways in the men’s suit jacket. Great belts cinch the jackets, mostly from thrift shopping. Been lucky to find belts very ‘Diane Keaton’.
Looking forward to your move, Godspeed the sorrows involved getting there.
Garden & Be Well …..
Love this post on a great brand. I have the Lightweight Cotton Cashmere Crew which I bought several years ago and still love it. It was perfect for Southern California weather and air-conditioned office. Now retired and living in Arizona, it continues to be perfect for the cooler winter days. I bought medium and large and kept the large (I was 25+ pounds heavier then) but the large is now nice and roomy. Easy to care for; machine wash and dry on gentle cycles! Now I just need more colorways!
Thanks for this post!
Hi Holly
Thanks for sharing. I rarely wear cardigans so I was hoping someone would pipe in. I love hearing what works and doesn’t work.
Hudson tote for sure! Love the suede chore jacket too. So far Quice has yet to disappoint me-thanks for all your insight. It helps to get actual opinions from someone on items I may not have ordered yet!
Hi Marianne
I have always loved suede and I am so happy to see so many wonderful choices this year!
Cindy, I am so pleased to see your selection of your favourite pieces from Quince, a few I have too. Especially happy that Quince finally ships to Canada, and free, making it so easy to make a return if required. I have the merino wool wrap jacket in oat and love it! I have a wrap coat already in olive from a different source. I have their new corduroy wider cropped leg pants in 3 colours and they are a dream to wear, especially since being a tad softer around my middle . I am debating about the returning the rust red since it’s difficult to match and perhaps just a bit too strong colour-wise on my lower half. Their cashmere pullovers are beautiful and wash well in a sink with a drop or two of shampoo …a good suggestion on-line… then rinsed a couple of times, rolled in a thick towel , afterwards dried flat on a rack. The other cotton / cashmere mix pullovers in basic colours are super useful. The newer cropped sweater with the large buttons is so cute. I was introduced to Quince in 2024 on your blog! And am now a loyal Quince fan.
Hi Cath
Thanks so much for weighing in. I have also wondered about the corduroys!
Go ahead and “fun it up” with the Sienna suede tote in olive. When will you ever find that fabulous color with the textural Bottega Veneta details! I love Quince not just for the merch but the good customer service and easy return and refund policies.
Hi Susan
I love that tote. Do I need it no!!
You got me into buying from Quince and I love my cashmere sweaters. What pants are you wearing in that last shot with your suitcase? I love that barrel shape of those, joggers? Lovely
Hi Lori
They are Ruti. Here is the link https://go.shopmy.us/p-94813256
They are the best travel pants and they are on sale.
Quick question. Where did you buy your fabulous olive hat ?
Love your blog. Terrific fashion ideas.
Even though I live in Vancouver, I have had success with on,-line orders fro Quince.
Katherine
Hi Katherine
Here is the link to the hat one of my longtime favorites https://go.shopmy.us/p-94813892
Cindy The beige wrapped coat is very similar to ones I have been noting on Scandinavian fashion videos. I have been thinking the last few days about coats but in SoCal there is limited need for them most of the year unless you are traveling out of the area..but I love the idea, the colors, and the styles! It is cooler where you are at present, foggy, and damp at times also..having lived in Los Osos many years ago as I remember. For those in the San Francisco region coats are a must and raincoats. I think the jackets are my best option this Fall and thank you for this thorough review.
I confess I am a Quince addict. Their cashmere is a complete steal. Their jeans are wonderful, and you can get them in different lengths which is great as my formerly slightly taller self has shrunk. I have bags, shoes and coats too. All great quality. No regrets with any of my purchases.
I have my eye on the black chore jacket, too! I also like the woven ballet flats.
I would love that olive suede jacket!!
Hi Mary Ann
Which one? I am off to check out your list!!
Glad that you mentioned “fit”. I am 5’7+” and long waisted, and I find that many of the Quince pieces in Medium are a little on the skimpy side, while the Large is often too big.
Hi Carole
Great to hear from soneone else long-waisted. I really like the oversized sweater (red) in the picture. I want to order another color. I want to try the oversize v-neck. Hopefully one of our readers has tried it and will weigh in!
I have several Quince pieces you mention…about 10 sweaters, several long sleeve layering tees, cotton oxford shirts, the olive ribbed cotton you wear here, and the duster… I have oatmeal and olive….love their leather loafers and flats, have 5 pairs…all in all pleased with most purchases. I can’t wear their jeans ,sadly. I appreciate their return policy and really fast shipping on most items…been shopping Quince several years.
