Do you Love Santa Fe and One Pan Meals?

Today let’s make a fall arrangement for your door, visit Santa Fe, and much more. As always, I am joining my pals Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday Favorites. Do you Love Santa Fe and One Pan Meals? Well, let’s this party started.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

After doing the accessory post last week I realized that my patterned scarves all look a little ragged. Some got moth-eaten after being packed away for so long. I spotted this lightweight wool scarf from Pendleton on Amazon (it comes in several pretty color combinations). I couldn’t resist it. I have everything else I need to complete the outfit. FYI

FRENCH AND FRENCH INTERIORS

A few years ago Mary Ann and I were invited to go to the High Point Furniture Market as bloggers. The charming French and French team (husband and wife) were also part of the group. I love their home city of Santa Fe (we have traveled there many times) and I have followed their work ever since. I love their playful use of color and pattern in their interiors. Their Desert Rose project will be featured in the latest upcoming House Beautiful issue that will be released next week. photographed by. You can purchase online here or at your local merchants. You can follow French and French on Instagram here, and check out the before and afters in their highlights.

PREPPY EMPTY NESTER-ABOUT LAST NIGHT

What’s more fun than a trip to Cabo with Katie?

17 MEALS YOU CAN MAKE IN ONE PAN FROM FOOD AND WINE

When 17 Meals you can Make in One Pan from Food and Wine showed up in my inbox, I was in! I love to cook but I can be a lazy one.

FALL GRAPE HOTTE

To assemble the grape hotte I filled IT about 2/3 full with leftover plastic bubble wrap. I placed a block of dried oasis in a loaf pan-sized plastic container. I gathered the elements I planned to use. I had two colors of preserved leaves in my stash along with some faux twigs, pheasant feathers, birch twigs, and cornstalk tops. I purchased some faux cattails and the golden rod-looking stuff from Michaels.

I first filled the hotter with the golden rod and faux twigs.

I then filled in with the leaves and added the cattail looking things around the base.

I then filled in the empty spaces with the pheasant feathers (you can find them on Etsy) and cornstock tops and leaves. My door has a large overhang to protect the hotter from the elements. I am not sure how the faux goldenrod stuff would do in the rain.

SUNDAY EXTRA!!

LULU AND GEORGIA IS HAVING 25% OFF ON EVERYTHING TODAY AND TOMORROW.

I am ordering a couple of rugs for my home. They are a great resource for everything home decor. I think I am ordering this rug for my den and I have had my eye on this rug for the great room forever. I also love these throws. These Christmas ornaments are to die for. This is a great basic sofa style that is timeless and has a bench cushion (which I am a big fan of-much more comfortable) and it comes in performance fabric! They have tons of pretty pillows and accessories. If you are in the market for anything 25% off is big especially this time of year.

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Thank you for reading Do you Love Santa Fe and One Pan Meals? I am a little bit behind on answering your comments but plan to catch up today. If you have missed any of my Sunday favorite posts you can find them all here. Let’s pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann and see what they are up to.

    Hello and good morn Cindy,

Love that scarf! It is perfect for you. Pendleton makes so many wonderful pieces, my favorites are the plaid.
Santa Fe is one of my favorite places to visit, so much history and such a beautiful place. The food, the people and the history.

Cindy LOVE that outfit and the scarf was made for you. It’s gorgeous. I like this Santa Fe home and will follow them.. The two rugs you chose are beautiful for your new home. I’ve had my eye on the stripe one for my cabin. I didn’t know about the hotte or what they are , but it looks fantastic for fall! xo

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Kim

As I told Mary Ann the grape hotte was used to harvest grapes and was worn on the back. There are straps that you can’t see on the back. Danni from Patine often has them in her shop. Stop in the next time you are in the area!

I’ve never been to Santa Fe but I’ve always heard such good things about it. I have done a few pan meals. I love the ease and will be doing more as it cools, and I don’t mind the oven being on.
    xo,
    Karen B.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Karen

It is a really quick flight from CA and just a short drive from the airport. You must go!

Preppy empty nest was hilarious and could have been me, I love her. Thanks for the heads up.
Also lulu and Georgia, found the perfect rug and ordered it. Did not know about this site, it’s great. Gave your name as the reason I was there.
Finally we were in Santa Fe for 2 weeks from hot Texas, the weather was great as well as the food. I love that place.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Cindy

Katie is a riot isn’t she? I am so glad I added that Lulu and Georgia link. I missed it, but spotted it today, so happy you found something you liked! I love Santa Fe too. You Texans are lucky it is so close.

I loved the Preppy Empty Nester! I laughed all the way through it! Thanks!
I love Santa Fe. We live in Scottsdale so its an easy trip. When we
were doing our house we spent a lot of time (and $$ 😂) finding
art work and accessories for our house as wells inspiration for
furniture. Great place to spend time!
I may try the one pan meals.I don’t like to cook so anything easy
and tastes good is right up my alley! Great post as usual!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Char

Santa Fe is such an inspirational place isn’t it? And a great place to drop $$$ as you said. I hope you can find a one pan meal that you love!

  7. Sarah says

The Preppy Empty Nester article was a hoot! Thanks for that.
Love your classic OOTW…but the scarves are already gone on Amazon. Great inspiration though, as always! Must go shop the closet!

  8. Pat Huber says

I clicked on the Preppy Empty Nester blog link and cracked up all the way through it. A fun read. Thanks for the link.

  9. Janet Arden says

Thank you for explaining how you did the wine hotte. I am planning on something similar using an antique wooden rake on our new front door, which is very sheltered. Hopefully I can use some bittersweet, etc., to dress it for fall. (If it works it will be on IG.) Love the way French and French use color. (I am now a follower!) Have a great week!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Janet

Your wooden rake will look fabulous! Great idea!! French and French are very talented and sweet as pie!!

  10. janet says

I like that outfit of the week – could you post a photo of you wearing it? Would love to see how you tie the scarf. There are so many ways, but the larger scarves are challenging to me.

  11. Annie Diamond says

Cindy, I adore your outfit of the week…would be right at home in the Santa Fe home of French and French! And I love how you made a fall arrangement for your gate! It’s so beautIful!

  12. Gray says

What did you think about High Point? It’s only a 3 hour drive from here and I went twice a year for 9 years for my store. I miss it.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Gray

I enjoyed it very much. I don’t think I would go again on my own, since I am not doing decorating anymore.

  13. Mary Ann Pickett says

First…LOVE the colors in your outfit of the week. So YOU…but me too, I think, I didn’t know what a “hotte” was…how was it originally used? I have a basket in a similar shape on my front door filled with twigs and eucalyptus…it looks very sad compared to yours. I will try to follow your tutorial.

So great about French and French.

    • Elizabeth says

Mary Ann, the grape hotte was used to harvest grapes, Some have straps like a backpack and you would place the grapes in them after you cut them from the vine. There are so many beautiful examples, some wood, some wicker, all beautiful in their own way.
