Did you ever stop and think why a particular image stops you in your tracks? What makes a particular composition of objects catch your eye?

Does one of these images just draw you in? If so is it the artful composition itself, the drama of a single element, the contrast of colors and textures….or just great photography?

I love most of the vignettes you feature, even if I'd never have some of the pieces in my own home. I think what draws my eye is a large piece of wonderful art, or colors I love, or wonderful antiques like the antique rocking horse.
My favorite image is No 3. A lively still life, love it! And I like Peter Vitale's photography in general.
But all images are interesting and well chosen. Like the Elephant one as well, so clever done, it seems like he's walking out of the picture into the room…
Another very inspiring and beautiful post, Cindy!
Greetings from a rainy and busy 🙁 Périgord,

These are all beautiful images Cindy…I especially love the Jean Allsopp vignette, I would like something similar in the coffee table for my own place…for me it is all about texture, natural elements and of course fresh flowers…so gorgeous! N.xo

I love this post! Just beautiful. So inspirational. And, that peacock? I wish it was with me.
Hi Cindy,
It can be the textures, contrast in palette, fresh with antique, the juxtaposition.
I just know it when I see it!

I am particularly drawn to the last image, and I know why. It is the worn woods, the red geranium, and the red color of the patterns. Beautiful! I also liked the graphic contrasts in the blue game board in one of the other photographs.
Cindy, I am also loving so many of these. My favorite is the Nathan Turner one. I just love his style.
I'm ready now to go change a few things up now and pin some of these!
I never fail to be inspired by your blog!!

A lovely collection of vignettes. Number 8 appeals to me for it's fresh simplicity.

They are all lovely in their own way, but the 3rd and 6th ones really caught my eye. I think creating a beautiful tablescape or vignette is an instinctive skill, not a learned one – some people just have it! x Sharon
they are all wonderful…I think its the balance of the objects that make a great photo…and the triangle effect.
I love the mix of blue and white patterns.
I am going to say all of the above!….as well as bringing me to a place I can relate to.
Obviously…myself included Maryanne…glad you agree!!
