Welcome to my most popular blog posts of 2019. Looking back at what posts appealed to you and which ones did not is extremely helpful to me when I am planning my calendar for next year. This has been a big growth year for my blog thanks to all of you. My email subscriber list has doubled in the last year, and my readership has more than doubled. I am so grateful to all of you for the support. This blog began nine years ago as an Interior Design Blog. As I aged (65!!) I noticed there was not a lot of information on fashion and beauty for women our age available. I began sprinkling in a little bit of over 50 fashion and beauty here and there. I had no idea how that would resonate with you. I think most of my new subscribers are primarily in that camp. I will continue to try and keep it balanced as long as you are interested. At the end of this post is a link to a survey. I would be so grateful if you would fill it out. According to survery monkey it only takes 4 minutes! Happy New Year and thank you so much for supporting me with your comments and input. You guys are the best!
Here are my Most Popular Blog Posts of 2019
Blush is tricky for women our age. Powder blush accentuates the wrinkles but for some of us the cream just doesn’t last. I am working on combining the two. More on that later.
I love gardening and I love container gardening. This post is near and dear to my heart.
This one surprised me. For some reason, that denim jacket “pose” made the rounds on Pinterest. Note to self back on weight watchers in the New Year. I was a bit thinner then. The pits of losing weight at my age are one’s skin sags more. So if your body looks decent your face looks like your 90. Go figure.
This is a post that I reworked that is near and dear to my heart. I love and believe in a collected look in one’s home as well as one’s personal style. More to come on this in 2020.
This was a very popular series a few years ago. I used a capsule wardrobe and built out a two week I updated it thi year with new items and information. If I go anywhere interesting this year I will elaborate on this subject.
I think this post mainly became popular due to the charming Washington Post Article by Ann Oldenburg “I am thrilled to be a grandmother just don’t call me granny” that linked to my post. I hope you liked it too but many thanks to Ann for following my blog and relating it to her apropos article.
This is another post that I updated for 2019 and I intend to do the same for 2020. We all love a great white shirt, right? I find they are more flattering the more we age.
All of these fashion posts that feature me surprise me. My best takeaway is that you like to see a now (over 65) woman with gray hair that is not perfect, and is definitely not a fashionista.
I am not sure why Part 3 was everyone’s favorite, but I am always so grateful that you read my blog!
Eight out of my top ten were fashion and beauty related. Digging deeper into the top 20 there are more design-related posts here and there as well as the Ageless Style feature on the darling Sarah Foster.
Here is the link to the survey. It is quick, to the point, anonymous, and oh so helpful to me. This is your chance to be heard. You can add anything you like. If there is something that has been bothering you, now is the time to speak up. Feel free to comment below in the comment section as well. Again thank you so much for reading and commenting. I feel so fortunate to have connected with so many wonderful people through this little blog.
I will publish the results next week.
