How to Host & Style the Perfect Spring Brunch

Keep it Simple

Keep your brunch menu simple and delicious—because no one remembers how long you spent in the kitchen, but they’ll definitely remember the ultimate breakfast casserole and perfect mimosas!

Tips for creating a beautiful (but doable!) tablescape

Fresh flowers, pretty linens and a dash of creativity are all it takes to create a celebratory and memorable brunch Layer your dishes, flatware, and pretty napkins to create a tablescape all your own. Here are some of my favorites you can copy without breaking a sweat.

Simple Bottle Tablescape

A simple bottle tablescape is a charming and easy centerpiece idea that uses an assortment of glass bottles—think vintage, colored, or mismatched—each holding simple blooms or sprigs, creating an airy, collected look perfect for spring. The best part…anyone can do it!

Single Species Centerpiece

A centerpiece made up of a single species adds instant charm and cohesion to your table, proving that sometimes less really is more—especially when it’s a bunch of cheerful tulips, sunflowers, peonies, roses, daffodils or hydrangeas stealing the show.

A bouquet of simple tulips from Trader Joe’s screams Spring.

What to Serve

When it comes to serving the perfect brunch keep the recipes simple. Think fresh, colorful, and simple. A mix of sweet and savory is always a win—fluffy quiches, french toast, pancakes or waffles with fresh bananas ,blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or maple syrup or homemade jam. Create a fresh fruit platter overflowing with fresh berries, melon and pineapple, Don’t forget a big green salad, or vegetable alongside a tray of pastries, scones & muffins . We always include grilled sausages, bacon or a Spring ham. Add a signature drink like a sparkling citrus spritz or a DIY mimosa bar, and you’ve got yourself a brunch that’s as bright and breezy as a spring morning. Bonus points for anything topped with edible flowers!

The Eggs

Fluffy herb frittatas, breakfast casseroles, classic deviled eggs, specialty eggs nestled in muffin tins,an avocado toast bar, ( like this one from Style Blueprint),with different types of egg toppings.

  2. Fabulous inspo Cindy! As I’ve aged I’ve drifted away from entertaining for friends, and just limit myself to the essential, the family. But you’ve got me thinking about widening my net and suddenly I’m planning al fresco for friends… if I still have any !

  4. Even though all your centerpieces are beautiful, I keep mine low so everyone can see one another. Thank you for the Egg Casserole and Lemon olive oil cake recipes. Just in time for Easter.

    1. Hi Judy

I keep my centerpieces low as well, normally undless they have to be removed in order to make space for the food (ie my round table!). In that case, I try to keep it confined to something that can be easily removed and replaced once the meal is over. On my long dining table I have more options for space and creating a low narrow centerpiece.

  5. This is so lovely Cindy and such a wonderful idea. Love the sense of generosity and community gathering together. Happy weekend!

  6. Cindy! Everything you do is so gorgeous, but also attainable! I love that!
