Easy to Create Spring Bottle Tablescape

I have to apologize, I had planned a little tea party with Summer for this post (Mary Ann’s suggestion) that we were to photograph Wednesday and I got either food poisoning or the flu. Instead today I am sharing a Spring Bottle tablescape from a couple of years ago.

Spring Bottle Tablescape

The great thing about a bottle tablescape is you don’t need a lot of flowers. You can gather whatever you have in your yard and display them in bottles of different shapes and sizes to create a pretty effect.  I don’t have much blooming in my yard right now but there are a variety of greens. Save your bottles of different shapes and sizes.  Clear wine bottles, olive oil, and vinegar bottles are great.  They don’t even need to be particularly interesting. Let’s take a look at an Easy to Create Spring Tablescape that you can copy.

Here is what I gathered from my yard to create this light and fresh table setting.  I always have lemons, lavender and a variety of greens.

For this 48″ round table,  I created a spring centerpiece using eight bottles of different shapes and sizes and six simple clear votives.

The great thing about an easy to create spring bottle tablescape is you can always forage things to use and you don’t need a lot of material to create a pretty effect. It’s all about choosing different elements to make use of many different colors. Spring is all about fresh florals and greenery, so the more you can find and use, the better.

The sparkle of the glass with the votives creates a nice effect, especially at sunset when the sun reflects off the glass and the water within it.

Simple Spring Bottle Tablescape

The best thing about this spring tablescape is that I didn’t buy a thing.  I made the most of what I had on hand.  I have a 48″ round folding table that fits perfectly over my coffee table so it doesn’t require moving. I covered the table with an inexpensive burlap tablecloth from Amazon.

The table topper is a scrap piece of Indian block print fabric. The chargers I have had for years as well as the Anthro plates.  They are all linked below.

The napkins are old block prints from Pottery Barn.  I have linked similar at the bottom of the post.  The green napkins are from World Market.

The bunnies are vintage look chocolate molds, the goblets are from Target. I use the chartreuse Spanish moss from Michaels all the time.  It is also linked at the bottom of the post.

But wait! Don’t trash the blooms when you are finished with the tablescape. Save them and place them in a small vase (this one from @perchdecor) to use elsewhere in your home to decorate for spring.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful tablescape pictures. I love the idea of using old bottles and greenery from the garden. I love you style.

  2. Robin says

Hope you are ok, as have not seen responses. Of course, take your time, but know I am thinking of you.

      Hi Robin

I don’t know how I missed your comment. We are all well here, and it sounds like things are finally turning around in Italy. We will be watching you to see how you open your economy back up. Thank you so much for checking in. Thinking of you!

What a brilliant idea, Cindy! Just exactly the inspiration I need to get creative with what I have since there are no shops open. It was pretty devastating when the Round Top spring show was cancelled as it affected so many businesses in the area. But our wildflowers and bluebonnets are spectacular this year so at least we’re all able to drive the country roads and appreciate them to our heart’s content!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Janelle
I would love to come to Round Top again. I remember the bluebonnets well. We have ‘BLU3ONNETS” here in California but we call them lupin. Hopefully, the March rains will make them explode!

I wish I were half as talented as you think I am! But thank you for being so supportive. That’s one of the many things I love about you!

Simply STUNNING Cindy. You make everything look so beautiful! What a talent and inspiration. I’m just wishing we could set a large table and have guests over. Boy and I going to be ready to party once this has passed. Stay well!

      Hi Celia
I long for that as well Celia! I would love to be a guest at one of your soirees!

What a great idea – we all have access to old bottles and greenery – thanks for sharing!

    Lovely tablescape, Cindy,
I love the idea of using what you have, but I must say your textiles are outstanding, as I have seen thru the years.
I wish you a lovely dinner to go along with the pretty table. Are you lighting a fire in the fireplace?

  7. Frances Longstaff says

Cindy, I have saved some bourbon bottles but can’t seem to get the labels off. I have tried alcohol, goo gone and even a knife, with no luck. Do you have any suggestions?

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Frances

I just soak them in the sink overnight and the next day off they come!

  8. Annie Diamond says

Oh my goodness Cindy…where do I even begin? I love how you create something so organic and beautiful and then break it down so that anyone could create this. What you have created using leaves of different colors mixed with a few sprigs of flowers is brilliant. Looking at the little bouquets on each napkin makes me think of “prom” flowers. I’ll bet you made beautiful boutonniéres and corsages for your kids!

Your table outdoors by the fireplace is stunning! The light is magical and your colors always seem to draw from that natural beauty.

      Hi Annie

Your comments are always so sweet. I did do a few prom flowers in my day….so funny that you mentioned that. I especially enjoyed doing the boutonnieres. I always try to photograph early a.m or late in the day, otherwise the sun can be blinding in my yard.

Thank you for the beautiful and inspiring ideas. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to see a spring tablescape that avoids the conventional pastels! Thanks for sharing your earthy and sophisticated aesthetic.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Suzy

I am not much of a pastel girl you have probably noticed. I realized mine ended up a bit “FALLISH” It just happened that is what I have in my garden right now. I don’t have many pink roses either!

Cindy I loved this so much. You gathered all your lovely things and make the most sweet table for spring. My grandma would have loved the using what we have idea. I keep bottles, but now after seeing yours, I am going to keep more of them. I also have a burlap tablecloth and I may try using one of my remnants on like this too. My most favorite part is your wraps around the napkins. This whole table just is beyond pretty. Great inspiration! xx

      Hi Kim

I loved your dark table, something about it just struck a nerve with me. Thanks for your sweet comments!

  11. Sheila says

Oh I love the bottle idea Cindy! And it’s such a practical one since it needs so few blooms – brilliant!

thanks so much for inviting me again – always enjoy these hops with you gals!

    Happy Easter!

Wonderful ideas for spring! Just one question: where did you find the bottles? I love all of the shapes!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Sharon

Some are TJ’s rose bottles. The little polka dot ones are my friend Roxanne’s we share a stash for Tablescapes. The others are olive oil, balsamic vinegar you name it!

How are you weathering the shelter in place?

  13. Fabiana says

    Cindy,
This table is really pretty and so thoughtfully put together. I love the juxtaposition of all the elements you used, especially with the bottles, lemons and array of flowers you selected.

    xoxo

      Thanks Claudia

You always inspire me with your tablescapes. I have pinned many over the years!
