A Wonderful Home in Spain that you won’t Want to Miss

Happy Sunday everyone. Today I am hjoining my pals Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites. This week I am sharing a wonderful home in Spain that you won’t want to miss, an early fall outfit, no bake desserts and more.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

I have a version of this Peruvian Connection (on sale) duster that I have had for years. Everytime I wear it I get compliments on it. It is soft, and has a great fit. My jacket is a size 4. I am pairing it with some faux suede pants from Banana Republic Factory, a favorite J Crew chambray shirt (also on sale), Everlane ballet flats, and a beautiful suede bag from Banana Republic.

NO BAKE DESSERTS FROM THE VIEW FROM THE GREAT ISLAND

Who wants to be in the kitchen when it is “baking” outside? I am not a dessert person. I must say these no bake desserts from Sue look pretty tempting for upcoming family gatherings.

    Hi Cindy,
I love the jacket and the house in Spain. You find the best clothing for us. Even the items that are out of my budget inspire me to find alternative pieces for a more affordable price to me.
    Thank you.

Let us see your version of the PC jacket. I don’t think you’ve ever shared it that I’m aware of.

Great post Cindy! Beautiful home, and love everything about the outfit. Denise Austin – wow!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Barb

Doesn’t Denise look fabulous? I always loved her. AARP has so many great resources.

  4. Maeve says

Cindy, do you have the Peruvian collection items tailored? You are a tad shorter than I am, and the length on almost everything is too long for me? I love the clothes, but the sizing/length makes me hesitant to do so. Thank you.

      Hi Ann

I do not know what was going on. I kept fixing the links and it didn’t update for some reason. I think they are finally fixed!

We subscribe to the same newsletter because earlier this week I added the photograph of the tapestry and the hall table to my office “redo” inspiration folder. Love the colors and textures! xoxox, Brenda

    Hi, Cindy,
    Another great design post.

I wondered if your Walmart denims had arrived and how they fit.
    Thanks,
    NancyO.

      Hi Nancy

They have not hopefully today! Has anyone else gotten theirs? I know many ordered them.

I loved your outfit of the week// it is a great addition to a fall wardrobe. I agree with you about No-Bake desserts. Actually I made chocolate Peanut butter Oatmeal cookies on Thursday for a committee meeting.people asked if they could take some home- I think it was the first recipe my sister and I learned to make at about age 6. I also make a cold lemon soufflé which is divine from The Vegetarian Epicure. Do you know Anna Thomas’ iconic cookbook from the early 1970s?

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi

I remember those!! My sister had a great frozen lemon souffle recipe that I have not been able to locate. It was fabulous. My sister was a gourmet cook. She like me did not like baking, but she was an absolutely incredible cook. So sad that she died so young.

      Hi Francesca

Denise just sounds like she could be a friend, doesn’t she? Have a wonderful week!

  9. Mary from Life at Bella Terra says

cindy, for some reason I cannot link to the home in Spain and I, too am getting the kiwi link where the no bake desserts are….love the outfit and hard to believe Denise Austin is 66!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Mary

I had a terrible time with my links this week. I kept updating the changes and nothing happened. I think they are FINALLY fixed!

  10. Kim says

Cindy, that’s a beautiful home and I love those dining chairs I’ve been seeing all over. The pie looks delicious and nice the no bake in the summer!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Kim

I love that home too but those chairs do not look comfortable do they? We had uncomfortable windsor chairs for years. I love them and use them in the kitchen now but I sure appreciate an upholstered chair at the dining table.

  11. Mary says

Love the outfit of the day! I had not thought of camel with a denim shirt–it goes great together!
We are traveling later this week for three weeks and I have bookmarked that outfit for when we return.
I made Sue’s gingersnap cookies yesterday and they are great. Yes to balance exercises for all of us over 65!
Thanks for a great blog and this post was particularly timely–

  12. Kim james says

Thank you for another insightful posting. The link to the no bake desserts is the same as the kiwi link. I’ll check back later after you edit it. Thanks again for a great weekly read with my Sunday coffee.

Morning Cindy! Love, love, love that home. Grand rustic with that soothing color scheme. Dennise Austin! She hasn’t aged a bit. Looking forward to adding some of her exercises to my meager routine. Love Sue at Great Island. So many great recipes and daily! How does she do it? (The link leads to the Kiwi piece about sleep though). OOTW is adobs and love that there are a couple of things on sale! Thanks as always xx-hb

  14. Nancy J says

The link to the no-bake desserts is the same as the one to the Kiwis…would like to see the link intended for that part of the article! Thanks!

  15. Mary Ann Pickett says

That dining room is just gorgeous. Love the racetrack-shaped table.
Doesn’t Denise Austin look great at 66?

  16. Annie Diamond says

Oh wow! That home is gorgeous! I love the metal or iron doors, the soothing colors, the dining chairs…love it all!
I can bet balance is one exercise on that list!
    Sue’s desserts always look amazing!
    xx
