Let’s Escape to the Virginia Horse Country

When I sit down to create a Sunday Favorites post, it usually begins with a home that captures my imagination. From there, I like to dream up what one might wear, eat, and experience the culture of the area as if we were lucky enough to spend time in that locale. Though I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting Virginia horse country, I’ve long been enchanted by the timeless beauty of its stone houses. It’s definitely on my bucket list. Let’s escape to the Virginia horse country shall we, and join Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday favorites!

Love the butter yellow on the walls and the white slipcovers. This room reminds me so much of my (now passed) friend Sharon’s home.

Kitchen Josh Young's Virginia Farmhouse

This kitchen not only looks beautiful but functional as well.

Josh has a masterful hand at making a room look authentic yet modern without being museum like.

New Virginia Horse Country Cocktail

I am not cocktail connoiseur to be honest, most are too sweet for my taste. This one from Middleburg Life sounds like one I could embrace. What do you think? Should we try it? We should probably ask the cocktail queen Juliet from Make Mine a Spritzer. for help.

What to Wear in the Virginia Horse Country

Argyle sweaters are making a comeback. I’m not sure I embraced them the first time around, and most of the current versions are a little too colorful for my personal taste. This understated rgyle from Alex Mill is a subtle classic, and something I can easily imagine wearing in Virginia horse country. What do you think?

Argyle sweater , Blazer, Pants, Ballet Flats (I own these and they can accomodate a bunion), Bag, Chain Necklace, Charm Necklace, Earrings

Argyle sweater, Jeans, Suede Jacket, Jeans, Earrings, Bag, Boots, chain necklace, charm necklace

You can find a less expensive crossbody from Quince here, and a more price friendly argyle sweater option here. I am guessing you can shop your closet for the rest!
