Today I am joining Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday Favorites. It’s that time of year that we are thinking about entertaining friends and family. I am always interested in aging wisely aren’t you? Let’s get inspired with healthy aging and fall decor tips, shall we? We can’t forget the outfit of the week, this week one is price friendly (you asked for it), and the other plus size (another request from you). I hope you enjoy.

Ageist-The Science Behind Supplementing Our Joint Health
Ageist has an interesting article about promoting joint health that you might find helpful here. I take Algae Cal, and Vitamin D. What are you taking?
Real Simple Sausage and Vegetables Sheet Pan Meal
I love a simple healthy meal that is quick to prepare and this Simple Sausage and Pepper Sheet Pan Meal from Real Simple checks all the boxes. Add a loaf of crusty bread and you are good to go.
AARP Ten Ways to get Rid of Dark Circles Under your Eyes
I don’t have dark circles (yet) although I know many of you do. I have plenty of other age related issues just not that one currently. I do have those dark hollows in the corners of my eyes. If you do have dark circles you might find AARP’s article Ten Ways to get Rid of Dark Circles Under your Eyes Helpful.
Outfit of the Week
Many of you have been asking for affordable looks. I love anything quilted and this quilted jacket from Walmart caught my eye. I paired it with my favorite (price friendly KUT jeans) inexpensive boots from Nordstrom Rack, a price friendly scarf from Echo, and an inexpensive bag from Away. The Spanx pants or any of them here would also dress up the outfit for dinner out. These pants are worth the investment if you want one flattering pair of black pants.
SHOP THE LOOK
A Curvy Plus Size Line you Will Love
I cheated and extended my five favorites to six. I stumbled on the Ulla Popken plus size line when searching for quilted jackets for the outfit of the week. Maybe you are already aware of this line, if you aren’t you are going to love it. The prices are competitive and the line is really fun. I couldn’t resist putting an outfit together with their quilted vest. I am tempted to order it for myself (if it would fit)
I paired the Ulla Popken quilted jacket with a plus size turtleneck from Lands End, a scarf from Anthro, a treat MZ Wallace bag and mesh booties (I find these stretch for bunions) from Eileen Fisher.
SHOP THE LOOK
When shopping for quilted jackets I sourced so many good ones, I thought I would share. I find the lightweight ones to be comfortable, flattering, and they add great textural interest without adding pattern. You know how i love texture!
SHOP QUILTED LOOKS
That is it from my desk this week. Thank you for reading Get Inspired with Healthy Aging and Fall Decor Tips. Let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for their Sunday favorites.

Thank you for including plus-size clothes!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Susan
I love that brand. I wish that jacket would fit me.

Keith Robinson’s fall decor is swoon worthy … the issue just landed in my mailbox. Love this week’s outfits and I ordered the boots from Nordie Rack. Yay! xo
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Juliet
I completely agree about Keith Robinson…love his work and glad you like the booties such a great price!
Dani says
Hi Cindy,
Have you had good results with the Algae Cal? Meaning bone density testing results? I’m looking for a product to try and there are many out there.
Thanks!
Cindy Hattersley says
I have not had my bone density test this year but yes I have had good results up until this point.
Ruth Ann Larson says
Does that mean your bone density has reversed or stabilized since you’ve been on it? Thanks
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Ruth
I honestly cannot speak to that until I get my bone density done. I have taken it for years, at least 12 I would guess.
Sharon says
Love that blue quilted jacket and you put together a perfect outfit! Have you found anything to help with the dark hollows? I don’t have dark circles but the hollows are my problem area.
Have a great week
Sharon
Dani says
Hi Sharon,
I’m 65 and have the dark hollows as well. I’ve found a product that I love called Fiera Luxury Concealer, and I use the medium shade. Easy to put on and lasts all day.
Cindy Hattersley says
Thanks Dani for sharing!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Sharon
I use the georgio armani concealer and it works well for me. It has the slightest bit of glow (and I do mean slight) https://cindyhattersleydesign.com/. You might try it and see if it works for you as well.

Good evening Cindy,
I love both outfits. Quilted coats are a favorite of mine. I have several Barbours and wear them all Fall and Winter long. They are stylish and cozy.
I don’t take anything for joint health, I will have to check out the ageist article.
No dark circles yet, wrinkles but no circles.
Have a wonderful week!

Love the olive green and black look. I can’t wear that profile but I bought the tote in that color from Quince. I guess I need the scarf.
Thanks again for the great inspiration. My favorite Sunday read.

Cindy,, the Ageist article got some negative comments from their readers. You asked what I’m taking. I fell and tore my meniscus in my knee. Long story short, I’m taking My Kind turmeric and Healthy Knees from Terrys Naturally. Pain free!
Ann says
Isn’t this the best time of the year for quilted anything? I recently wore black “quilted “ loafers which were thrifted to play Mahjong, just for fun ,orange socks peeked out from the top of the shoes. I wore the same foot covering later that evening with a black and white geometric top for a Murder Mystery event. A ancient necklace from Chico’s with burnt orange beads, faux silver chain with Mayan medallions kept the autumn colored theme. Black Costco jeans were the bottoms. Winter is the only time I wear my Charter Club red leather quilted jacket. Tis’ the season!
Using a cruise lines onboard credit I bought a pricey black Wallace quilted backpack. Which MAY replace my favorite unstructured red one from sending a donation to our favorite charity. Oh! Our unexpected Murder Mystery dinner mates were a Dr. and retired nurse who worked on projects for Doctors Without Borders. She is in my book club.
Someone should design a ghost costume by quilting sheets!
