Cozy Winter Textures for the Home and Wardrobe

Every year, a few trends come along that feel less like a passing fad and more like a natural extension of our personal style. This season, faux fur and shearling are taking center stage, and for good reason. These aren’t just stylish additions to a wardrobe; they are the ultimate ‘mood lifters’ for a dreary winter day. Whether you’re looking to refresh your living room or add a luxurious layer to your winter coat collection, embracing texture is the easiest way to make your environment feel curated, elevated, and warm!! Let’s chat about Cozy Winter Textures for the Home and Wardrobe

Cozy Winter Textures for the Home and Wardrobe

Outfits of the Week

I have to admit, I’m leaning hard into the faux fur and shearling trend right now. I’m not usually one for trend-hopping, but I think it’s great to lean into a movement that already speaks to your aesthetic. I’ve always loved playing with texture in my wardrobe and my home. The good news is you definitely don’t need to spend a fortune to get the look. I certainly wouldn’t spend a lot of money on a faux fur or shearling bag.

January Reset Soup from Lemon Grove Lane

I have followed Leslie for years. You can follow her on Instagram here. I made this soup last year and thought it was one of the best I had ever made and then forgot about it.

Leslie’s aptly named January Reset Soup is a huge favorite in our house. I took it to my neigbor after she had knee surgery last week, and they loved it as well.

What to Watch

Steve and I are watching the thriller Runaway on Netflix, based on Harlan Coben’s book. “A desperate father searching for his runaway daughter gets caught up in a murder case — and stumbles upon secrets which could destroy his family for good”. It isn’t exactly a peaceful cozy up to the fire movie, but it is excellent!

Ultimately, creating a cozy winter aesthetic is less about following the latest ‘must-haves’ and more about surrounding yourself with pieces that feel like you. Whether it’s a plush shearling coat , or a faux-fur throw that transforms your sofa into a sanctuary, embrace the textures that bring you comfort. The best part of winter is finding beauty and warmth in the details that matter to you.

  1. Happy New Year, Cindy! Love that Teddy Fleece coat … and the price too. I’m adding the Reset soup to our menu for the week. And the Runaway movie to our watch list. It’s funny, with so many great television options available I’m still terrified I’ll run out of things to watch. xo

  2. Cindy! I always love your outfits of the week! You always manage to pick up on a trend but make it work in a way that suits everyone!
And those cozy chairs from Studio McGee! LOVE!
I need that reset soup for January!
    xx

  3. Cindy, is the sideboard behind the furry chair yours? Am looking for something just like it. Do you have any ideas?
    Love your posts!

    1. Hi Beth

That is from a Studio McGee project and I believe it is vintage. I did do a google image search for you and did not come up with anything too similar. I would check local antique and resale shops. It looks like it might be a bleached English piece to me. Good Luck! Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

  4. The furry chairs are wonderful for winter but how do they feel in the summer? The leopard look collar looks like a fun warm addition to a jacket or wool coat. I love the fur throw but all grey are sold out. Happy New Year Cindy!

    1. Hi Sydney

I think those chairs are more suited to mountain homes. If I had them, I would have slipcovers made to switch them out in the spring/summer.

  5. Love that faux fur jacket. We have actually been using our faux fur throw by the fire pit at night. Everyone loves it. I am going to make that soup this week…I could really use a reset!!
