Ageless Style: Celebrating a Mother-Daughter Influencer Team
I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce you to Courtney Blood and her remarkable mother Marie this month for our Ageless Style feature. Courtney, a talented personal stylist hailing from Melbourne, Australia, has the most inspiring partner in her mum, who, at the vibrant age of 82, has embarked on a modeling career. What a fascinating duo! I’m excited to share their insights on cultivating enduring style, staying beautifully current, and embracing a healthy, joyful life. Let’s meet Courtney and Marie for Ageless Style: Celebrating a Mother-Daughter Influencer Team.

Ageless Style: Celebrating a Mother-Daughter Influencer Team
Courtney: Did you always know you wanted to be a personal stylist and color analyst? Tell us about how you got here and landed on this career path, including how you chose the name for your business along with your three foundations for style:
Style that suits you
Shop less, shop well
The circular economy
After 30 years climbing the corporate ladder in Human Resources, I hit a turning point. At 52, I realized I didn’t want to spend another day doing the same thing for the rest of my life. I took three months off and was absolutely bored—until one day it hit me: I wanted to style people! It was an epiphany that completely shifted my perspective. I dove in and started my business with three guiding principles that are close to my heart:
· Shop Less, Shop Well: It’s all about investing in quality over quantity. Avoid mindless shopping and be intentional with every purchase.
· The Circular Economy: Fashion doesn’t have to be wasteful. I embrace sustainability, which means incorporating pre-loved pieces and timeless styles into my wardrobe.
· Style That Suits You: Your wardrobe should reflect your individuality, lifestyle, and the colors that make you shine.
As for the name Monday Project Co? Well, it’s all about helping my clients tackle those “Monday Projects” in their wardrobes—the things we put off but need to get done. I work with clients of all ages, sizes, and budgets, and they all have one thing in common: they’re frustrated with their current wardrobe and ready for a change.

Courtney: Your motto is: “your style is your signature.” How do you apply this to your own life and fashion sense?
Style is powerful. It shapes how we feel about ourselves and how others see us. I learned that early on. The amazing thing about getting dressed is that it takes the same amount of time whether you’re wearing something that makes you feel incredible or something that feels uninspired. That’s why I help my clients understand their personal style, their best colors, and how to create a wardrobe system that works for them. When you know what suits you, getting dressed becomes effortless and fun.
Courtney: You frequently feature your absolutely stunning Mum on Instagram. Introduce us to her and share with us how she inspires you.
My mum is the powerhouse! At 82, she’s a mother of four, grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother to three! Not to mention, she still runs 10 km almost every day and competes in marathons. She’s completed 30 full marathons, and we’ve run five together! To me, she’s the epitome of discipline, grace, and longevity.

There are a few habits from my mum that I swear by:
· Move every day (if you can walk, don’t drive).
· Limit alcohol (it’s dehydrating).
· Be strict about sun protection—your future self will thank you.
· Buy pre-loved clothing (it’s sustainable and stylish).
· Cook at home and moisturize daily—Nivea cream is my secret weapon!
She’s taught me that small, consistent habits lead to a lifetime of wellness, and I’ve tried to live that out.

Describe your sense of fashion using only five words.
Considered
Timeless
Individual
Colorful
Confident

Current fashion trends you are loving, and a few you can live without!
I absolutely love thoughtful, personal style choices that reflect the individual. Style is about knowing what works for you—your colors, your fit. That’s how you create confidence and originality.
What I can live without? People dressing like everyone else. Fashion shouldn’t be about following trends just to fit in. And definitely excessive consumption—I can’t stand seeing clothing end up in landfills because of poor purchases.
Favorite mainstays in your closet for all seasons, including accessories!
As a color analyst, I’m very intentional about the colors in my wardrobe. Everything I own is curated to match my best colors, and if it doesn’t work, I sell or donate it. Here are a few staples:
· Winter favorite: My camel cashmere coat—timeless and perfect for my hair tone.
· Summer favorite: Pops of red! It enhances my eye color and adds some fun.
· Accessory must-haves: Belts are a game-changer—they can transform an outfit! And when it comes to handbags, I focus on style over labels. Quality over flash, always.
Tell us about your love of running and marathons. What is your most memorable race? What are some of your other favorite ways to stay active?
The last marathon I ran with my mum was extra special. She was 77, and our entire family surprised her during the race. We cheered her on along the 26 miles, even belting out her favorite album—Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell—when the going got tough. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
Do you have a favorite fitness routine/wellness regimen that you adhere to? Tell us!
Absolutely! I run four times a week and do hot mat Pilates three times a week. I’ve also cut out alcohol for the past eight months, and it’s done wonders for my sleep, skin, and energy. I love starting my day with exercise—it keeps me energized and feeling strong, just like my mum.
Travel! Who is the better packer, and what’s in each of your suitcases for a quick weekend trip? Let’s hear it!
My mum and I are pros at packing! We travel together a lot (France, Portugal, and Spain are on the horizon), and I always create a shared color palette for our wardrobes—usually four coordinating colors. This way, we can mix and match our outfits, borrow from each other, and ensure we look effortlessly chic in all our travel photos. Yes, I even curate vacation wardrobes for clients to make their trips stress-free and stylish!

Please share your hair tips and favorite hair care products.
Hot rollers, hairspray, and a fantastic haircut! People often think our hair is thick, but it’s actually fine. We’ve just mastered styling it in a way that gives it volume and life. We stick to affordable products from the supermarket but invest in regular haircuts (and color!) Keeping it simple and easy works for us.

Name five must-try at-home skincare items you are currently loving right now.
1. Sweat every day (exercise is skincare!)
2. Limit alcohol—it’s a major dehydrator.
3. Avoid sun exposure—stay youthful!
4. Commit to a preventative lifestyle.
5. Moisturize daily (but keep it simple!)
Give us a snapshot of a normal day. Are you up with the sun or late to bed or both?
I’m an early riser, thanks to years of waking up at 4:30 AM for my kids’ swim training. Now, I get up at 5:30 AM, run or do Pilates, and start my day feeling energized. I film my daily outfit for accountability before meeting clients or creating content. Mum starts her day with a run, attends a class (she loves American history), and tends to her garden. We talk multiple times a day. I finish work around 4:30 PM to cook dinner and spend time with my family. We’re all in bed by 9:30 PM—early risers, early sleepers!

Other than your impeccable fashion sense, and your overall zest for enjoying life, what are some interests you have that might surprise us?
My business is my passion—it’s like raising a child! I’m constantly nurturing it and finding new ways to grow. Between work, family, and self-care, I’m one full plate. I love what I do, and I plan to keep working well into my 70s—if that’s what I choose!
If you could give your younger self any words of advice, what would they be?
Trust yourself. If something isn’t working, take the time to figure out why—and don’t be afraid to make a change. Take risks and live without regrets. Leaving my safe corporate job for something unknown led me on this amazing journey. Sharing it with my mum on social media has been the best part.

Beautiful and inspirational women. I loved learning more about them.
Hi Eliz
They are wonderful aren’t they?
What a great column. I didn’t know about Courtney’s fashion blog, but thank you for introducing it to me. I am wondering if the black and paisley dress Courtney is wearing is from the Sally Phillips Autumn Winter 25 collection?
Hi Susan
I think it was last year. It is on the Sally Phillips website. I wish I could get my hands on that dress as well. I love it!! Let me know if you find someone that will ship to the US!
Hi Cindy. I went to the Sally Phillips parade (here in Adelaide, where she is based) and thought I recognised the dress (but couldn’t quite make out the design) Just wanted to make sure. Sally has the most beautiful clothes. She does two parades a year, in the capital cities, you then make an appointment, try on the clothes and then place an order. It takes about three months for delivery. I am positive if you reached out to Sally Phillips (she has a website) she would be more than happy to post overseas. Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips bought some on her visit here last year. The vast majority of the clothes are made in Australia. Her dresses are really beautiful – all of her clothes are.
Hi again. The dress is autumn winter 2025. My previous post was not a sponsored endorsement. lol. Just a huge fan of Sally’s clothes
Hi Susan
I contacted Sally! I just love her line. I hope to hear back from her! You Australians have the best designs!
Courtney and Marie have been my style icons ever since I discovered them online.
Fab posts that give me so much advice and inspiration. Glad you featured them, Cindy. They’re a gift to any woman who wants to achieve simple, chic elegance at any age.
Sorry, repetition. Didn’t think my previous comment had got through. Please delete.
Hi Prue
I am so happy to hear that Prue!!
P.S. my post was not sponsored by Sally Phillips LOL
Ha ha!! No worries I didn’t think so! What other Australian designers do you love? I just love Australian fashion.
Beautiful Mum/Daughter Duo! Such great advice. Love your blog.
Hi Kim
Thanks so much for the kind words! Love following you as well!
One of the best articles I’ve read here; so I thank you, Cindy, for sharing this. You, too, have a wonderful style in fashion, and that’s what attracted me to your blog.
Hi Mary
I am so glad you enjoyed Courtney and Marie!
Hi Cindy,
All I can say is “WOWIE,” Courtney and her mother, Marie are a powerhouse. I’ve never read about such a mother and daughter that are so with it on so many levels. What beautiful extraordinary ladies. It amazes me that Marie is still running races, and full marathons. Gene pool must be part of it, and taking care of herself.
Cindy, thank you for sharing this interview.
Hi Katherine
They are an impressive duo aren’t they? I am so glad you enjoyed the interview!
I want to know the name & company Courtney’s silver earrings are from?? The ones in picture of her along with blue blazer & slacks. Stunning!!!! This was a find! Thank you sooooo much!!!
Hi Paula
I will ask Courtney to chime in. I am sure you can dm her on Instagram and she will let you know.
I loved this post! What inspiring women. They seem to enjoy life and that makes you look beautiful too. Agree about alcohol and good exercise.
Hi Kim
Aren’t they fun?!!
This has been a wonderful read, Cindy. Marie and Courtney are my absolute tops of the tree with fashion inspiration and have been since Courtney began her fashion and style social media. None equate to their elegance in my opinion. And they’re Australian too!
They’ve taught me to go beyond my forever neutrals and I’m now wearing the right red and I’ve even added delish whipped butter yellow that I saw Marie wear with such aplomb.
It’s simple advice – find your colours and don’t deviate.
As for the skin advice: Nivea, Sorbolene and Factor 50 sun-protection with hats. Can’t go wrong.
They’re a buoyant pair and I always feel uplifted after watching Courtney’s explanatory reels and I love that they shop from low to high-end with ease, so can appeal to anyone.
Currently with the pup chewing me and every article of clothing I own, I can live vicariously through them! Good clothing requires a lattice between me and the pup!
Thanks again.
I haven’t even read the post yet, I saw they were from Melbourne (my hometown) and I was all excited. Will read it later,. Thank you for sharing, I think Cindy you will need to make a trip to Australia.
Hi Rita
I sure hope to!!
Hi Prue
I am so glad you enjoyed Courtney & Marie. I can identify with the pup chewing!!
wonderful post! inspirational
Hi Mary
So glad you enjoyed the interview!!
I loved hearing about the mother & daughter duo. I was disappointed they really didn’t name their favorite skincare products, except Nivea.
Her mother is amazing with that great exercise program!
Hi Susan

These two are truly inspirational. Easy and reasonable advice and lifestyle.
Thanks for this great interview with two beautiful ladies. I can’t believe Mom is 82.!
Hi Linda
Isn’t Marie amazing? Love Courtney’s advice!!
I tried signing up for the newsletter but when it enters my inbox it wants me to confirm. There is no place to confirm. I already follow on Instagram but would like more content from this talented duo.
Hi Joanna
Did you try and sign up from Courtney’s website? I did and it worked for me.
This is the best ageless style/personal stylist article ever! Thank you.
Great duo! Maybe I will get my colors done when she goes virtual this year. I have never done it.
