A Secret Collected Garden I am in Love With

It is Sunday and if you are a regular here Mary Ann, Annie, and I share our favorite things. Today I am sharing a Secret Collected Garden I am in Love With and more. I follow a lot of people on Instagram and with Instagram’s algorithm sometimes I lose track of some of the accounts I really love. Fritz and Frannie are one of those. Christa lives in the PNW and has a collected curated look in her home and garden.

FRITZ AND FRANNIE ON INSTAGRAM-A SECRET COLLECTED GARDEN I AM IN LOVE WITH

I Have been following Christa for quite some time, but Instagram hasn’t chosen to show them to me lately. I fell back in love recently. Hey people these cypress topiaries are from Trader Joe’s. I randomly purchased one that I thought I would kill by the end of the season and it is huge! Look at these in her PNW garden aren’t they fabulous? If you love what you see here, you might want to give Christa a follow here on Instagram.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

While researching new workout clothes for our post last week, I came across this shirt from Athleta. I love a good white shirt, and I think you will like this one too. I have it on order. It is water repellant and rated UPF 50. It also comes in black and extended sizing.I am a big fan of Athleta. I just wish they had more sales!

Love the pleated back detail. I think this top would be great for travel too.

I paired the shirt with a pair of lululemon pants on sale (so many of you liked Jan’s pop of yellow), a fun necklace and purse from Etsy, Artemis loafers and some yellow frames from eye buy direct. I think this shirt would be great for travel paired with these J Jill Wearever pants., and these Rothy sneakers as well.

If you missed them, you can find the rest of my Outfits of the Week right here.

OVEN ROASTED HALIBUT WITH CHARRED LEMON AND ROSEMARY

You can find the weight watchers recipe for the halibut here.

halibut-with-roasted-lemons

As I mentioned last week, I am back on Weight Watchers. This is an easy dinner paired with a simple salad of baby greens and roasted tomatoes. We buy a lot of cherry tomatoes. Sometimes they all get eaten and sometimes they don’t. If they start to get a little “wrinkly”. I roast them and toss them with a little bit of olive oil an vinegar. I don’t use a recipe but this Ina Garten recipe is basically how I prepare them. You don’t need fresh basil either. I often substitute dried thyme. The whole point of this recipe is to use what you have on hand.

I love the outfit and the garden. I bought a few of those lemon-lime cypress topiaries for gifts last year and everyone told me how great they grow and thrive. I better get one or more for myself. Haha.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Katie

Isn’t that blouse amazing? The back?!! I am following Lee now thanks to all of you ladies!

  7. Debbie Workman says

Wonderful Sunday post Cindy! Love the outfit inspiration and the link to the Lee Woodruff interview. Lee also has a blog and often cites her favorite books she has read. Happy Sunday Funday!🏈🏈

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Debbie

Thank you so much for the share about Lee Woodruff’s blog. I will try to remember to link to it next weekend. I love her!

  8. Carol S. says

Great inspiration…big cherry tomato fan here…your outfit is fab with the pop of yellow…mini skirts after 50, why not!? My first thought when I saw that was sure, with black tights and boots, and a cute top that’s a bit long…covers all my sins and shows my better points. Going to a concert in Charleston this week and was already thinking, should pull out the black mini skirt (short in my case, not mini), tights and boots. Hey, I’m on trend, thanks! Garden link great and added a follow on instagram. Happy Sunday, have a great week.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Go Carol!!
I completely agree with what you are saying about what they are now considering mini (basically anything above the knee) still shudder when the word mini comes up because I remember how “mini” they actually were back in the day!!

      • Teresa Pouncey says

I like simple, above the knee skirts with black tights and Gucci-type loafers or boots. In fact I’m happier wearing them than leggings which have never felt right on me!

  9. Mary Ann Pickett says

I have always loved topiaries. How cute is that wall of watering cans…like art 🙂

I like to roast “wrinkly tomatoes” too. This is such a happy place to come on Sunday!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Mary Ann

Isn’t that wall so clever? Wrinkly tomatoes are the best roasted aren’t they?

  10. Suzie Hutton Yoshihara says

I love your blog and learned about you from Kim Wheeler, a friend of mine. I started WW again (lifetime member) back in late October and lost 10 pounds by now through the holidays.I’m loving the new program with its rewards for drinking water, exercise, and eating vegetables. So easy and motivating!!! I’m going to try that halibut recipe!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Suzie
Any friend of Kin’s is a friend of mine. I should be a lifetime member. I first went on WW in the early 70’s. I agree with you it is just good common sense and works for me. Hooray to you for keeping off the pounds during the holidays. I just got lazy. So happy to be back on the wagon.

  11. Susan says

Would you consider the Athleta top more of shirt or a jacket? I was thinking shirt, but many reviews call it a jacket! My store doesn’t have it, so curious what you think IRL!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Susan

I have not receive mine yet but to me with that back I would consider it more of a shirt and that is what they are calling it. I just love the detail and think it would be great for travel

      • Susan says

I agree – the back definitely says shirt to me! So I was surprised to see several calling it a jacket-will be interested in your take once you receive it if you don’t mind sharing!

        • Cindy Hattersley says

          Hi Susan

Of course. We are doing a post later in the month. I will be modeling it, ha ha.

  12. holly says

Oh my goodness! I follow Christa as well and she has slid off my Insta-radar too! Back to scouring her posts for inspo as my garden wakes up from its winter nap. Thanks for the halibut recipe. Putting more fish, veg, and fruit in my diet and tossing the Lays Potato Chips and cream cheese dip. Better late than never!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Holly

Don’t you hate what IG does? Some of our favorite peeps never show up. Yep to eating healthy for awhile so we can lose a few pounds and then cheat when necessary!!

  13. Annie Diamond says

Cindy! What a fun mix of favorites! From the topiaries (Seriously, some came from TJoe’s?) to the white shirt from Athleta. I love how you put it together with accessories too! Mini Skirts over 50…hmmm…

    • Cindy Hattersley says

ha ha…well I won’t be wearing any miniskirts but hooray to those that still can!!

  14. Carolina says

The garden design is inspiring even for those of us with a tiny space to decorate. That the vertical space is used as well as all of the pots being the same works well for me.
As for the miniskirts, I have been wearing just above the knee black skirts with tights for decades. Thinking any shorter, if worn with tights/leggings the skirts appear to hit at the same place on the thigh as a tunic so if you like the look I say go for it. I don’t see short minis in my future, but you have taught me to never say never when it comes to fashion over even 60.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Carolina

Isn’t Christa so creative with her garden design. I just love what she has done with that space…so creative. I agree about the tights…but what about summertime? Not sure about that one!!

  15. debra @ 5th & state says

great collection & lots to love here, that blouse, recipe ….. thanks pal for Sunday inspiration!
    Debra

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Buddy!!

I am in love with that blouse. I think it has Debra written all over it!
