It wouldn’t be Saturday without a little wine tasting! We heard good things about Calera Winery from our son and daughter in law so we decided to pay them a visit. I couldn’t wait to wear my new French Terry Dayna top from the Lisa Bayne Collection for Artful Home. We grabbed Beau and headed to Hollister (yep you heard right Hollister).
Calera Winery was founded by Josh Jensen. In the early 70’s after graduating from Yale as a History Major and Oxford with a major in Anthropology, Josh began exploring the wine regions of Europe. Upon his return he wanted to find the perfect spot to grow Pinot Noir in the Burgundian style that he loved. ” He ventured off the grid to plant on the site of an old limekiln” in the Gavilan Mountains near Hollister. History was made. He began to craft some of the finest Pinots in California.

I couldn’t wait to wear one of my Artful Home picks the Dayna Shirt by Lisa Bayne. I really love Lisa’s line for Artful Home. They are so comfy, the perfect weight, and she knows how to flatter the over 50 figure (if that is possible?). This top is a lightweight french terry so it is a season spanner for me here on the Central Coast. It was in the mid 70’s and it was perfectly comfortable.
It also comes in a pretty blue-green (jasper). For some reason due to the fall light, it appears to be a different color in every photo on me. On a cooler day, you could add a turtleneck or jacket and be good to go as well.
If you would like to visit Calera Winery or learn more about their wines you can visit their website here. FYI Calera was just recently purchased by the Duckhorn group. If you join their wine club you have access to all of the wonderful wines included in the Duckhorn family. Did we join the wine club? Of course.
Beau was quite the little “poser” yesterday. He loves Pinot too! Don’t forget to stop by on Wednesday for our latest Ageless Style post. I am featuring someone darling that you are going to love! She is an author, model, and advocate for women over 50. You won’t want to miss her!
