Update your Bedroom for Summer with Fresh Linens

Today I am joining my pals Annie and Mary Ann. We are sharing sustainably made price-friendly luxury goods from Quince, a brand many of you have asked me to research. I have refreshed my bedroom and guest room with beautiful linens from Quince. Let’s chat about how you can Update your Bedroom for Summer with Fresh Linens.

Here I am also wearing their popular tiered maxi dress in a medium.

It gets quite warm here in the Summer. We normally have a lightweight comforter on our bed, along with a cotton blanket, and a quilt. I wanted to lighten up our bedding without sacrificing the style. You can see my bedroom dressed for winter here in my post How to Get a Collected Look in your Bedroom

When I spotted these European linen sheets and this cotton blanket from Quince I couldn’t wait to order them.

I was so pleased with the blanket that I removed the comforter and quilt and just left the crisp linen sheets and the cotton gauze blanket on for the summer. I love the clean look of the blanket simply tucked for summer.

The blanket coordinates beautifully with my monogrammed linens from Cottage by Design. The quality and price point are excellent for the sheets and the blanket. I purchased the linen sheets in ivory , and the gauze blanket in sand.

I love the texture of the blanket and how it complements the other items in my room. You can see more of my primary bedroom in my post How to Achieve a Collected Look in your Bedroom here.

I removed the comforter from the guest bed as well and replaced with the simple blanket and crisp sheets.

In our guest bedroom I chose the same airy gauze blanket in white, and the European linen sheets in white.

If you love linen and cotton bedding I would highly recommend Quince. If you are on the hunt for home goods I would highly recommend them. Their comforters, throws and towels are wonderful. I have their organic Turkish cotton robe on order (it’s on super sale) Mary Ann highly recommends their cashmere throws. I love this reversible one. I plan to order a couple for the fall.

    Cindy,
Your lovely bedrooms look like a 5 star hotel! I’m wondering when I can check in… ha ha!

  2. Sue Winter says

The linens are beautiful. In the photo of your guest bedroom, can you source the folded blanket at the foot of the bed?
    Thanks!

  3. Judy says

I love all your decorating Cindy. I have ordered clothing from Quince and like all the items. I have not tried the linen sheets but had been shopping for some since returning from Spain and a rental with beautiful linen sheets. I might try these. Prices are reasonable but….
A promo code would be nice for a discount. Did that offer that for your readers? Thanks

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Judy

They did not I am sorry! Maybe they will next time. I think you will be happy with the quality and the price point is the best I have seen for the quality.

Cindy! It looks like you found the perfect bedding! The linen and gauze is so perfect for summer! I am so impressed with everything from quince!

I haven’t heard of Quince, but the linens look lovely. You look terrific in the black dress. Both of your rooms are beautifully done. I admire your bed every time you show it! Count me in with the curious as to how you must leap into bed (its a little high).

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Barb

It is high. I wanted to get rid of it when we moved to this house but Steve wouldn’t hear of it. I guess one day we will not be able to get into it. We just climb in as you would with any other bed!

I’m so happy to hear about Quince. I’ve just visited their site and was impressed with the number of items available as well as the value pricing. Thanks for this. It looks like they have some great things.

      Hi Karen

You ladies brought it to my attention. Their sheets are wonderful!

It’s very interesting to learn from you and the 2 other bloggers talking about Quince. I’ve ordered a few things from them (mostly cashmere) but didn’t know they made or sourced other products! I’ll check them out. Thanks for the tips, Cindy.

Cindy, both of these bedrooms look relaxing, restful and comfortable! I have never heard of Quince and am of to check out their selection.

Cindy I am now trying to order the Gauze Blanket in SAND…but did you mean DUNE ??

  10. Cath🇨🇦 says

Okay, Cindy…just how do you manage to get into your bed!? I didn’t spy a stool!
It’s lovely dressed for warmer weather in Quince. I pare down the bed linens as well,
and have some collected pieces from LLBean.
Do enjoy your posts, whether design or dressing with style.

I was asking myself the same thing lol! The room is lovely, I always like a high bed myself!

      • Elle says

Same thought here on the high bed.
We have a comparatively low bed now & need to replace it as well as our mattress.
        Any mattress recommendations anyone?
Lovely room — very restful and warm, calming colors.

That wrought iron bed gets me every time! I think I’ll start looking for an old iron gate that will fit the bill for the queen bed in my guest room.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Joanna

I had the bed made in Mexico. I used an iron gate as inspiration.

I have the linen box stitched quilt – very nice. I also purchased the linen sheets – both in a soft gray color. The sheets are great, although I think a little warm for the heat of the summer (I live in the south).

I think that I am going to go for the cashmere cardigan that Annie is wearing. Our weather is usually mild enough that it will be fine for fall and early spring. I do find that the Quince sizing runs somewhat small. Their medium is closer to an 8 than a 10. Just so you know.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Carole

Thanks for the tip on sizing! I did order a medium in the dress as well. I find linen to be fabulous in the heat as it breathes.

  13. Patricia Huber says

I love those beautifully made beds. I need to check out Quince for home goods.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Pat

I think you will love their home goods. I am anxious to try their towels.

  14. Mary Ann Pickett says

Oh man,,,your guest room is calling my name. I think I will be using Quince a lot for my Christmas shopping! Love that dress on you and the price is better than mine.

    • Marie says

Another beautiful post! I’ve been considering linen sheets. How do they look after being laundered? Do they require ironing?

      • Cindy Hattersley says

        Hi Marie

I take the sheets out before they are totally dry and hang them outside if I am being picky. Otherwise, I do nothing. I embrace the natural beauty of the linen, and we love sleeping on linen. These are the nicest I have purchased and we have tried several brands. They soften with age.
