Today I am joining my pals Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites. What does Skincare, Hostess tips and Summer Salads Have in Common? MBC INTERIOR DESIGN ON INSTAGRAM

I don’t know how I missed the beautiful work of MBC Interior Design on Instagram, but I am loving Mary Beth’s fresh take on coastal design.

CAMILLE STYLES GRILLED ROMAINE WITH CHERRIES

I love a great grilled romaine salad and this one from Camille Styles sounds delicious. I love the addition of the cherries. I would make my own vinaigrette, but in a pinch you could use her bottled dressing. She says it is delicious!

SEVEN SUMMER HOSTESS MISTAKES TO AVOID THIS SEASON

Martha shares these summer entertaining faux paux’s here.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

Whenever this outfit pops up on Pinterest, I will inevitably get an email about the shirt. I purchased it at Johnny Was a few years ago. I noticed an almost identical version on sale, so I thought I would share it with you this week. Johnny Was is having a great sale here in case you missed it this week.

I am pairing the great Johnny Was shirt with an Eileen Fisher tank (very similar to above that I also own), a necklace from Etsy, shoes from Vivaia, and a lovely woven bag from Tuckernuck.

      Hi Juliet

So fun to see our old friends. Visiting with Steve’s brother in Knoxville now!

What a fun read. Beautiful designs – makes me wish I lived on the coast. I’ve been using Retinol for a while (in a serum) at night I see a difference! Love the white outfit! Hope you are enjoying your time in the midwest! Great to catch up with friends.

Hi Cindy, I’ve been hoping you’d mention Vivaia shoes at some point as my ‘difficult’ feet find the brand to be perfection for comfort. Their wide variety of styles and colours are so elegant. I just wish they did more sneakers.
The little white shirt is a delight and you always pull off the wide trouser leg and flowing shirt so well – I’m five foot three and curvy (nine stone) and am not sure I could do it with the same style. But with a hot summer heading Australia’s way, it may be The New Me, courtesy of your influences.
Thank you for such a tasteful blog on style – this is one of my three favourites.
    Cheers.

    Cindy,
Cannot tell you how much I love your blog!! I live in Florida where it has been hotter than ever! Can’t even go to the pool. So, even though I am 73, i wear shorts and cool dresses…even linen pants unless in AC are not comfortable! Love this outfit…I have linen pants like those, tees, etc. Thank you so!

      Hi Jan

We are in Tennessee right now. I can only inmagine how hot it is in Florida!

    Hi Cindy,
Useful information, as usual. The romaine salad looks delicious. I am happy to hear you are enjoying your time in your hometown. I was just in Paso Robles this past weekend with my family. It was beautiful, hot but beautiful. We had a fun time, but it was too short. Didn’t have time to do some of the wineries.

Cindy, pinned the cherry romaine salad…looks so delicious. Love the Johnny Was shirt~I have something similar but in short sleeves…never thought to pair it with same color pants. Good idea. Safe travels and enjoy your time away.

    Cindy,
Enjoy your time the midwest and at your reunion!
I know that you are a fan of Johnny Was and I saw this and thought of you. IT is a beautiful piece. https://rstyle.me/+4AwJd0EIoTf-JaGLelZuhg and on sale at a great price.
I do not use retinol, should I be? Makeup and skincare are not my son suits. I am a minimalist when it comes to that stuff.
We love grilled romaine and make it often, in fact we had it last night! I will have to add the cherries the next time. Thank you for the tip.
By the way, I really enjoyed your interview with Shelia Bridges, she is an amazing designer.
Have a great day Cindy! Travel safe.

      Hi Eliz

Thanks for the Johnny Was tip! I have used Retin A for years (perscription)

  10. Mary Ann Pickett says

Cindy, Mercedes and I bought tubes of .5% retinol in Portugal for 5 euros! Without a prescription. I’m just using it about every three days after serum and before nighttime moisturizer and I think some age spots are fading and my skin feels smoother.
That kitchen banquette looks so charming.
    Have a great time.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Mary Ann

Colin and Lauren always pick up Retin A for me when they are in Mexico. It sounds like it is even cheaper in Portugal!
