A Charming Tennessee Farmhouse and More

Happy Sunday everyone. We are housebound with our newly neutered pup. Last evening I snuck out with my friend Wren for a fun local benefit, but let’s chat about a charming Tennessee farmhouse and more.

Charming Tennessee Farmhouse and More

I spotted this charming Tennessee in Style Blueprint Louisville and knew I had to share it with you.

The farmhouse is designed by Stephen Fuller. I love the beautiful classic lines combined with the unexpected metal roof.

This living space has the perfect combination of the old and new, and a wonderful mix of surfaces and textures.

This inviting porch is to die for. I would love to sit here and enjoy an iced tea or a glass of wine.

The interiors are by Barbara Westbrook a designer I have long admired. Barbara is known for her timeless

Outfits of the Week

I have to admit, until recently I didn’t get what all the fuss was about with French retailer Sezane. I love many of their recent offerings, including this dress that could be worn multiple ways. There is also a shirt of the same design that is equally wonderful with jeans or a skirt. I am not a huge pattern fan, but this design is soooo good! I am ordering it. I am ordering these pants as well.

This wonderful dress would be great for a day of wine tasting with sandals, a straw bag & hat from BR Factory, and comfy sandals, and caddis sunnies that are on my list.

This dress would be great for a casual day sightseeing with your favorite sneaks, the Tommy Bahama jacket I have in two colors, and the Dagne Dover bag I have been coveting.

Garden Wedding Outfit

This lovely dress would also be perfect for a garden wedding with comfy vionic stacked heels, a Quince clutch, and a linen shawl.

Scouty Update

Yellow Lab with Inflatable collar Scouty

Scouty got the snip snip. Any suggestions on keeping him calm? Yikes now that he is feeling better keeping him calm even on meds is a trick. How long did you wait before taking your dog on short walks. We are on day 3…

Caesar Salad & Hanger Steak

Colin and Lauren fixed this delicious caesar from Food 52, and hanger steak last weekend for dinner. Colin says all he did was salt and pepper the hanger steak and tossed it on the grill!

Wise Words from Cindy LaFerle

I always enjoy Cindy LaFerle’s life lines. They are always thought provoking. When Sorry Isn’t Enough, gave me pause.

Through Her Craft-Wine and Art

Cindy Hattersley & Wren Mead at Studios on the Park

My friend Wren and I attended a wonderful local benefit Through Her Craft Wine and Art. It is part of international women’s week , here in Paso celebrating women chefs and wine makers. At Her Table is a “special celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and the inspiring women who shape the world of wine and art! In honor of International Women’s Day, Through Her Craft: Wine & Art will spotlight the incredible talent of female winemakers who will be pouring their wines and sharing their stories”. It is held at our wonderful Studios on the Park.

That is it from my desk this week. Thank you for reading A Charming Tennessee Farmhouse and More. If you would like to catch up on any of my previous Sunday favorites, you can find them here. We are hunkered down here until Scout can be out and about. What are you up to this Sunday? Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for their thoughts.

  1. Not proud of the goofy way I’m holding my mouth in that picture. I’ve known Terez Tyni since our boys were in school together as little kids. She really is talented! Cindy and I had fun promoting female artists and winemakers on International Women’s Day.

  2. Hi Cindy. I think Scout would be fine on slow, sniffing walks on leash, which are best without the distraction of other dogs. The experts say that sniffing is more beneficial to a dog than fast exercise.

Our dog trainer has been drumming that into us and so every walk we do with the pup (16 weeks) at the moment, is on a long line and is a sniffathon. He comes home happy and tired. We just wonder when we’ll ever get our 10,000 steps a day back!
And by the way, that denim coat dress looks stunning.

    1. Scout should be fine now. We’ve had around 10 male dogs fixed and they heal amazingly fast with no issues. I just made sure the area was cleaned once a day and no redness. Never even used cones. Enjoy him.

      1. Hi Judy

We are avoiding the cone except at night as well. Finger crossed!!

  3. Cindy! That house is gorgeous! Lovely to see you and wren! That dress you’re wearing is my favorite!

  4. Hi Cindy, just a quick note – I so enjoy reading your blog! Thank you!
A suggestion for Scout’s entertainment pleasure…an article in the New York Times today mentioned how animals are really focusing on an animated movie that you can stream. Here’s the title of the article, if you’d like can access the Times.
“The Oscar-Winning Movie That Pets Can’t Stop Watching”
I’m planning on giving it a try with our elderly kitty, Scout!

  5. I’m in TN, and find the farmhouse to be fabulous! Those porches say, “Come sit a while and sip some tea!” 🙂
Scouty is such a handsome fellow! They do bring such joy! Finally, love the dress and accessories for different occasions! As a winter, I can do army green. Do you think this would work? All your posts are wonderful and inspiring, Cindy! Happy Sunday!

  6. Lovely post. If olive were a color I wear I would invest.
We are planning a trip to Paso in late May. Any suggestions on where to stay? I definitely want to take in the art gallery.

  7. Cindy, your little Scout can now go out for short walks as long as he doesn’t come into close contact with other dogs. They certainly need their activities to get rid of that pent up energy. Also, I love the choices of the accessories with the beautiful dress. Where did you find the linen shawl? As always, enjoyed your post so much! Happy Sunday!

    1. Thanks Deb! Our vet said 7 days…I think we will go cuckoo before that…his incision is healing and looks great.

  8. Thank you for a beautiful post! Do you have any idea who painted the fabulous paintings behind you and Wren in the photo? Thanks!!

  9. Hi Cindy,
