Packing Tips and Outfit Ideas for the LTK Conference
Today I am joining some of my favorite content creators (and world travelers) for some packing tips and travel wardrobe ideas. Normally I don’t have any trouble squeezing my belongings into a carry on. The ltk event in Dallas Texas is attended primarily by 40 something fashionistas. Most arrived with multiple pieces of luggage. What in the heck was I doing there? Let’s chat about Packing Tips and Outfit Ideas for the LTK Conference.

Packing Tips and Outfit Ideas for the LTK Conference
What is LTK CON
“LTK Con is an invite only conference for creators and brands hosted by the creator platform ltk. The event is a chance for creators to learn from industry experts, connect with brands, and celebrate top performers in the LTK community. Brands can also use the event to connect with creators to collaborate on campaigns and grow their brand awareness and sales”. Translation it was a lot of 40 something fashionistas. The conference begins on Sunday night with an opening cocktail party and continues through Tuesday ending with the “Gala” where outstanding creators are awarded for their performance.

How to Pack
This LTK conference it is not like your average conference. Peeps won’t be wearing jeans or work attire. They will be dressed to the nines. Many will have their assistants and photographers along to catch every instagram and tic tock moment. There are two days of classes and three cocktail events.

Travel-Days
I rely on my Frank and Eileen travel sets for my travel days.

I wore the Aspen Travel Set traveling to Dallas without these accessories.

Coming home I wore the Patrick Henley with the Catherine Fleece Pants that are part of the Aspen Travel Set .

My friend Jennifer from a Well Styled Life and I arrived a day early as she was coming from Canada and I the US.

We decided to do a little shopping at some of the brands that were being represented and check out Dallas on our first day, I am wearing my gauze dress from Nordstrom (no longer available but similar linked below).

Welcome Cocktail Party Look
Our lifestyle here is so casual, dressy cocktail attire is non-existent. I am past the stage of buying something for a special event that I will wear once. The theme was “quiet elegance”

You might recognize our pal Noelani from La Vie on Grand second from the left. Valerie from Midlife Posh Closet is a new friend that we met at LTK. I am wearing one of my favorite CP Shades Lily skirts (currently not avilable in this color).I did source on on eBay below, with an Eileen Fisher top and leopard mules.

Day One Conference
The attire for the conference days “snappy casual” (whatever that is)Frank and Eileen to the rescue once again. It was hot in Dallas so linen was in order. Each day we attended meetings and classes in the conference rooms, and met with select brands that were sponsoring the conference.

Jennifer and I ready to head to the Thompsen Hotel on Monday for the beginning of the conference. The LTK conference had blocked hotel rooms at the Thompson and the Joule where we stayed.

This is what I actually wore on day two of the conference. The Frank and Eileen Tuscan Travel Set with my favorite Madewell sandals,

Cocktail Party Night Two (the theme was frosted glam) Jennifer and I were neither frosty or glam.

The cocktail party the second night was held at Catbirds at the Hotel Thompson. This was the only outfit I bourght for the conference. It is actually two pieces from Ulla Johnson. I bought it locally at Ambiance. I used a gift certificate for part of the purchase. It is actually two pieces that could be worn independently.

My friend Kris from Driven by Decor took the above picture of me and the owner of the company Amber Voss chatting. Note the height difference. Amber was dressed beautifully every day of the confernce.

Conference Day Two
The Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders were the opening act.

The second day of the conference I wore another two piece set from Mersea the Sonnet top, and Sonnet Maxi skirt. These cotton poplin pieces also come in black or white and are great transitional pieces that can be worn together or separately. I took one more pair of shoes than I needed but these sure were comfortale and on sale at Sundance.

Gala
The gala (awards ceremony) was held at the beautiful Dallas Opera House. The attire was “elevated cocktail”, which of course I do not own.

Jennifer and I ready to head to the gala. The lady that took our picture failed to tell me that my hair was in my eyes (typical. I tried to photoshop it out, so my face looks funny sorry! I am wearing a CP Shades lily skirt (not currently in the color on the website (dm them they may have one in the store) and matching shirt in cotton silk (currently not available on the website dm as they may have it in one of the stores).I found something similar to the CP Shades combo here. I accessorized the combo with vintage rhinestone accessories, and birdies mules no longer available.

The gala was quite the extravaganza. We entered on the red carpet where our pictures were taken (I never received mine), we were then greeted with champagne before entering the event. The awards ceremony was held in the opera house with dinner on the mezzanine. The tables were beautifully decorated and the dinner was quite good.
LTKCon was a great learning experience for all of us. We met new friends and have joined a master mind group to share ideas and expertise. We learned a lot about the LTK app which I will share with you later this week. I packed just about right but I could have survived with one less pair of shoes. The conference itself was definitely fashion over load.

Your Ulla Johnson outfit looked fabulous on you. I am about your same height & build. Can you tell me
what size Ulla Johnson turtleneck & skirt you are wearing?
Hi Marilyn
The top is a small and the skirt a medium. I could have easily done a medium in the top as well, but they didn’t have one!
I noticed the eye glasses you and Jennifer were wearing and would love to know the brands and style names.
Thank you for your spectacular posts. I look forward to them each day and have learned so much about clothing brands that are new to me and fashionable styling tips. Enjoy the recipes as well of special recipes.
Many thanks,
Susan
Hi Susan

Love this Cindy! Great recap of your conference outfits and thanks for the cameo 🙂
So fun hanging out with you that week,
Noelani
Cindy, you looked amazing as always. Both you and Jennifer were there to represent a large demographic of stylish intelligent women that are often overlooked. One of the many things that I love about you is that you “KEEP it REAL”. I always feel like you represent real life, and you show it.
I certainly cannot relate to a 40 year old with a photographer and assistant in tow to make sure everything is picture perfect.
Kudos to you and Jennifer for the invite and sharing your experience.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Stunning both you and Jennifer. Loved everything you wore. I did have a chuckle at the names for the functions.
You looked GREAT!
The HOT PINK totally worked for THE GALA.
Enjoyed seeing how you packed for this special conference. It’s been ages since I have had to pull together dressy clothes for just about any thing. But I did get a few ideas to elevate my style!
Hi Linda
I rarely dress up either. Where we live it is very casual, so it was a challenge!!
I have to say Cindy, that you romped it home in every pic. From top through hair, makeup, clothing, minimal accessories – really perfect and great colour when needed. Perhaps the younger ones can take note. Congrats to you for looking polished, elegant and most importantly, natural.
Awww thanks Prue. I doubt the young girls were impressed ha ha, but most were quite nice!
Wait. How tall is Amber Voss?? Cindy, you look fab in every pic! I love your welcome cocktail outfit. Beautiful skirt. 😊
She is tall and she wears really high heels. I am 5’4 if that tells you anything!
That close-up selfie of you and Jennifer is just beautiful!! Way to represent us well-seasoned Women!
I like that picture too Sarah.
Excellent choices, Cindy! I break out in hives when contemplating gala and cocktail attire, but you (and Jennifer) both nailed it. You look gorgeous!
Hi Susan
So do I!!!
Lovely blog. Thank you. I’m looking for Jennifer’s blog please??????
Jennfer’s blog can be found at awellstyledlife.com
You and Jennifer set the bar high for ageless beauty, confidence, grace, style, elegance, and gorgeous skin and smiles. You asked, “what the heck was I doing there?” You were showing younger women (and your readers) not to fear aging, but to fearlessly embrace it head on and never stop living, learning, and connecting. And that CP Shades color on you….wow, you’re a radiant knockout! PS You’re my packing icon.
Hi Cindy,
You look beautiful and so does Jennifer. I can imagine how everyone got all dolled up. You have “the Cindy look,” and you will always stand out in a crowd. When you are in your 40’s you can glam way up because your feet can still tolerate gorgeous heels. Some can in their late 60’s and 70’s but most can’t. You rocked everything you wore.
How wonderful both of you looked – every time you had your picture taken! I especially liked your lily skirt and shirt with the beautiful pin!
Holy Moly! Frosty, glamorous, stunning, stand out beautiful! 40 somethings have a lot to learn from you two.
Agree. California does not do glamorous, but you nailed it.
And your skin, both of you ladies, is lovely!
Thank you for sharing.
Heading up to 50th high school reunion this weekend. Very casual, happily. Hoping my skin will glow as gloriously as your does and I can rock photos as you do!
Cheers, Friend! Let me know if you are available in the next few weeks
You two look great. The 2 pictures of you in the CP Lilly skirts are absolutely beautiful! Love your classic hair cut too.
Cindy! I love this recap of your trip to Dallas for LTK! I loved what you wore! The pink CP Shades skirt/blouse with the vintage rhinestone accessories for the gala! Now that’s my kind of gala attire! You look stunning! You both do!
Cindy you & Jennifer looked marvelous! I think you always look great!
Congratulations to you and Jennifer; we need brave, strong women in this world! Facing all those young ladies had to be interesting as well as inspiring but maybe a bit amusing. Hubs & I are on day 11 of a 30 day road trip across the southern part of the US. The other day in Santa Fe I encountered a number of young ladies all decked out in the Georgia O’ Keefe style; I was still in my short, denim skirt and tee that has been my travel outfit. My first thought was how I could congratulate myself for not feeling inferior and then I realized that at 73 one experiences a new kind of self confidence. Glad us over 70’s can certainly hang in there!!
YES!!!!!! Love your comment.
Wondering, what is Georgia OKeefe style? Sory of Southwestern?
I love Georgia OKeefe –
Thanks
O’Keeffe
Hi Cindy,
I am looking for new eyeglass frames. I loved your tortoise shell seen in a picture with Jennifer. Can you tell me the brand.
Thank you,
Lisa
A-Mazing. You and Jennifer look gorgeous. Good job for showing up and looking spectacular. I’m going to read this post again to savor it when I have more time.
Loved hearing about your trip with Jennifer (another favorite blogger) to LTKCon.. You both looked lovely..and thank you for honestly in expressing your experience with the younger generation. “Frosty Glam”??? Who thinks up these themes?? You
looked wonderful!!
Did I ever tell you that I study your posts Cindy? Seriously. I do. I love that you rework your own pieces to fit the occasion but still feel like yourself meaning don’t run out and buy all new to try to be somebody you’re not or to quote fit in with the 40 something’s bc you’re perfect the way you are. Hope that makes sense. Just saying keep on being you. It’s so real in a world of make believe and I appreciate it. You look fabulous as always btw.
It was fun to see your dressy outfits! Great job taking such variety in a carry on.
I would say you were both frosty and glam. Your two piece outfit is stunning! Both you and Jennifer were true to yourselves. I suppose being surrounded by all the younger influencers made you both a touch uncomfortable but you have no reason to be. You are in a class of your own and doing a great service to all us older ladies.
You always look so beautiful! As I’ve said before, you’re my style icon! I noticed your pearl necklace with a dark medallion attached. Can you tell me more about the necklace?
Hi Dottie
Absolutely! It is by https://www.instagram.com/paula_carvalho_designs/. I am not sure if she is still making them but Dm her on Instagram and tell her it is the one she made for me.
