Sheet Pan Peanut Chicken

Do you follow Camilla Alves Mcconaughey via Women of Today? She has interesting content and yummy recipes like this sheet pan peanut chicken that I am making this week!

How to Stimulate Collagen Production

Glamour magazine has an interesting article about how to stimulate collagen production here.

Saks Designer Sale

The crazy sale season continutes. I featured my Nordstrom favorites in my post here. Many items have sold out, but there are still some great bargains. Saks has huge markdowns on many of their pricey designer items here. It is a great time to pick up frame jeans, great bags from Aimee Kesterberg and Ralph Lauren, and pretty La Double J separates that are normally out of reach!

Outfits of the Week

When I spotted this gingham dress with the wide sash (I hate those skinny little unflattering belts) it was love at first sight.

Tuckernuck Gingham Check Dress Outfit

Wear the gingham dress now with Madewell sandals, that great price friendly Mango tote, Caddis Sunnies, and Machete earrings. and bracelet.

Tuckernuck Gingham Dress & Jean Jacket Outfit

Wear it later with a Gap jean jacket (or one you already own), Veronica Beard loafers (on the NSale,), the All Saints bag I am coveting from the Nsale, with the same earrings and bracelet from Machete, and sunglasses from Caddis.

Tuckernuck gifted me a couple items from their July selection last week. I chose two items that I think you could wear now and later.

Tuckernuck Dress

I don’t normally wear sleeveless, or navy, but I thought this Riviera dress had interesting detailing at the hemline, and a flattering shape. I am wearing a medium with my Mar Y Sol bag, and Helen Kaminski hat. Later you could add a barn jacket, and boots and wear this dress into the fall.

Tuckernuck shirt and Kut Jeans

This shirt from Tuckernuck is beautifully made and fully lined. I am wearing it with my KUT jeans (that have gotten a little tight with the weight gain) , Fitflops, the same Helen Kaminski hat and a bag from J McClaughlin, and inexpensive wood hoops from Etsy. This shirt would be great with regular denim jeans and loafers or booties for fall as well.

House and Garden Article

I saved this article from House and Garden awhile back to share here on my Sunday faves about the link between gardening and happiness. Gardening is so rewarding isn’t it? We are beginning to harvest tomatoes and herbs (grapes will be coming soon as well) from our garden and we are really enjoying seeing (mostly Steve’s) hard work pay off.

That’s it from my desk this week. Thank you for reading Garden Rewards, Healthy Eats, Advice & More. Enjoy your Sunday. I will be back on Tuesday. Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie.

  1. Cindy, love you in the blue dress and the blouse too!
Gardening is a challenge as the deer and the squirrel eat everything. But I do love my herb garden.

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer!

    1. Hi Elizabeth

I rarely wear navy but loved the detailing on that dress. We have squirrels and deer here as well but the deer have stayed out of the garden since we have lived here (so far so good). Those darn squirrels wreak havoc though don’t they?

  2. I love both pieces from Tuckernuck … very much ‘me’ …and how you styled them, Cindy, but once I checked on prices , did the math to CAD 😬 I went back to my selection of 10 pieces for my next consignment drop off early this week. Came away with $136 for last month’s selections …so nice change to have. It is ridiculously hot here, quite unusual for the Pacific Northwest , and my first time feeling this heat in my small house with no air con or a heat pump… so feeling a tad sorry for myself. But! I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. I was working in my bedroom surrounded by clothing bins selecting things to sell, and trying on things as I was choosing clothing. I didn’t realize quite how hot I was becoming, as was I stubbornly trying to get the job done. I was beginning to feel rather unwell. I got some cold damp face cloths and lay down for about an hour with the tower fan gently blowing air over me, my neck and face cooling down fast. Such a Twit!
Today, I decided to “act like a Mediterranean” and have a scheduled lie down mid afternoon…before I managed to feel crummy again. Rather relaxing listening to light jazz and taking better care of myself. Hmmm… I think this heat will be happening more often in the future unfortunately …I might need a new plan going forward. The evenings are pleasant , thankfully, and it’s good to be out watering and tending to my garden and pots. Water bowls are set out for the birds …as they are hot too! Fine spraying the shrubs makes them almost giddy with delight!

    1. Hi Cath

I have a friend who has a wonderful consignment shop here where I take my things as well. We have not had too many super hot days yet!! We have been lucky…it can get oppressive!

  3. I recently put in a Butterfly Garden, planting flowers and plant that attract butterflies. It doesn’t look very impressive yet, but the butterflies love it!
My Dad who was a gardener extraordinaire said when he read the obituaries, the people who live into their 90s always list gardening as one of their hobbies. I love that!

    1. Hi Becky

We had many butterfies in our last garden but not so much here. I love your dad’s comment!!

  4. Cindy, you have such a uniquely you style. I love it! I would get lost in the dress and the blouse. We each find our own style and it evolves over the years. I’ve had a hat like yours for many years and love it. It is so hot hear that it is best for me to wear pull on knit shorts and light weight tees worn out to cover my fluffy middle. I wore my fedora with lanyard on our mile walk this morning. Poor puppy started to suffer from the heat about five houses down from home and Brent had to carry her home. Poor puppy! I must get up an hour earlier to beat the heat. It is better for me too! She is fine now but I must remember that she is 11 years old and is mostly dark brown. Enjoy a quiet Sunday.

    1. Hi Sydney

We have to walk Scout early and late as well. We usually can’t walk him until after eight in the evening and best before 8 in the morning!

  5. Yes! Gardening is good for the soul!! Would love a recent tour of your garden. Also love both outfits!

  6. Cindy, Happy Sunday! Love the Tuckernut dress-wish they would send me one! So happy to hear your garden is abundant and producing. Ours is fallow in the Phoenix heat, mostly because we aren’t there tending to it. Have a smaller herb garden I just recently planted at our cabin. Even though it is smaller in scale, it gives me so much joy. Everyone should have a garden, regardless of size, in ground or in a planter. Tending to something and watching it grow fills the soul.

  7. Cindy, I love the Tuckrtnuck blouse! Please share the size you’re wearing. Thanks!!😊

  8. Love both Tuckernuck pieces! You’ve turned me into a Flipflop fan. Jim too. I absolutely believe the garden happiness connection and I’m looking forward to the day I can putter in my own garden again. Happy weekend! xo

    1. Hi Cheryl

I am not obsessed with my weight but for health reasons I need to shed a few pounds.

  9. Cindy, what size are you wearing in the lovely Tuckernuck blouse? Great combination and posts; thank you!

    1. Hi Karyn

I am so sorry I am so late to the party. I am wearing a medium.

  10. i don’t think you are overweight, you look great. I enjoy your post each week.Beautiful garden.

    1. Hi Lillian

As I said, I am not obsessed with my weight but I know when I am overweight. I am healthier a few pounds lighter.

  11. I saw that article about gardening and happiness and thought of you, Cindy.
Love the Tuckernuck top and the J. McLaughlin bag. That chicken dish looks amazing…wish I was joining you for it!

  12. Cindy! I love both the navy Tuckernuck dress and the blouse, and the way you accessorize both!
