Fashion Over 50-Granny & Granddaughter

Annie, Mary Ann, and I are so happy to be joining our friend Melanie from My Sweet Savannah and Jeanine from Happy Happy Nester.  They are joining us for a little fashion fun our Mother-Daughter fashion post. I am not sure who came up with the idea. It sounded like a great concept but neither my daughter nor daughter-in-law was too thrilled at the prospect.  I thought I would recruit my two-year-old granddaughter. For those of you new here,  Summer is my only grandchild.   She is now 27 months old and full of it! Photographing a two-year-old and an old lady for a fashion post is a bit of a challenge. Let’s dive into Fashion Over 50-Granny & Granddaughter.

Okay, calling all grandmas. Have you heard of Maisonette  If you haven’t prepare to get into trouble. They are HQ for all things adorable for children and babies.  What specifically caught my eye was the Mer St Barths brand.

I had grand intentions to put a stylish outfit together but the reality is.  I am wearing a michaels stars tee similar here, and cp shades linen pants, similar here on sale, NEW VERY COMFORTABLE sandals from Matisse, and the simple white earrings you have seen many times before. I know I have bragged about the Michael Stars tees before.  I like them because they wear like iron and they are long enough.  I am long waisted an there is nothi

I took more complicated outfits up to “model” but the reality was this. Not many of us are wearing very complicated fashion these days anyway, right? I want to thank my daughter Jenna for bringing this precious child into our lives and taking time from her busy workday to snap the above photos.  I hope you enjoyed Fashion Over 50-Granny and Granddaughter. Susan of Une Femme (you can read about her on Ageless Style here)  and my friend Elizabeth (the Vintage Contessa) have inspired me to wear more color.  I hope I didn’t blind you in this post.   Now pop over and visit our other mother’s and daughters for their fashion finds.

      Hi Judy & Bill
It was not easy! Jenna took them but we only had like 20 minutes. We may be coming back in a week or so. Will keep you posted!! That Ryan is adorable!

    Cindy,
Oh my, what a sweet post and your granddaughter stole the fashion show! 🙂 She’s adorable and I love the outfit you found for her. Your outfits are lovely too, especially nice for a summer visit with a grandchild.
    xo,
    Karen

      Hi Karen
I hope you are getting to see your grandchildren more often. Summer did steal the show!

Hi Cindy! What a memory you and Summer will have of this photo shoot! You both look great! I am sure it wasn’t very easy to get these pictures, but I think kids these days are exposed to much more picture taking with smart phones. Your pictures look so natural, just as if you were having having a visit/talk, instead of posing. I know our DIL has always taken loads of pictures, so Ryan is already getting used to having Mommy take his picture. LOL I think he will give them a run for their money as you said about Summer! Isn’t it fun to watch from the sidelines with grandchildren? I know you and Steve must be having a wonderful time with Summer (and vice-versa)! We still have wonderful memories of our antiquing adventures! Judy

    Cindy,
What a adorable grand-daughter you have! I especially love her spunk which you can see in the photo with the pink dress. Cherish the moments with her and enjoy the last remaining days of summer! I love all the clothes you were both wearing!

    Cindy,
Your friends were right! Color looks fabulous on you! I noticed right away as soon as I opened the email. I love both turquoise and red and I quickly checked to see if they had my size. No luck. I was worried about the T shirt bc it said one size only. Hard to believe it would fit me!
Maybe I can can find a store that carries it so I can try it on. Ya never know until you try!
PS. I think Summer looks so much like you. Happy girl!

  7. Pamela Whitcomb says

Cindy! I love seeing you with Summer! You look like you’re having so much fun! I think Elizabeth and Susan are right about wearing more color! You look amazing! The red Michael Stars T-shirt with white linen pants and your gorgeous hair…love! I had not heard of Maisonette! I adore those colorful dresses with tassels. Madeline used to wear a lot of Oiliy when she was Summer’s age and the bright colors and embroidery remind me of some of her dresses. Summer is so darling and her hair! What fun to have these photos of the two of in your garden!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Annie
