Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to my Sunday favorites with my pals Mary Ann, and Annie. Let’s chat about whether you Would you Like to Create a Vintage Gallery Wall and much more.
VINTAGE ART GALLERY WALLS ON INSTAGRAM
At some point, I would like to create a vinage gallery wall in our powder room.. I am always finding inspiration on Instagram. Love this gallery wall from Coffee House Designs on Instagram

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
This weeks outfit of the week is a nod to all who have asked for an affordable option. This eyelet dress (I would wear as a tunic) over narrow white jeans and a great straw hat from H&M. The great sandals are from J Crew Factory, the purse (which I ordered) from Saks off 5th, and the earrings are from Amazon. All are linked below the graphic.

FLOWER MAGAZINE
This article from Flower Magazine caught my eye from Kelly Smith Trimble, author of the Creative Vegetable Gardener, about mixing annual vegetables and perennials.
INA GARTEN TOMATO AVOCADO SALAD
This salad from Ina is one of my favorites to prepare at the height of tomato season. However, if you are craving it right now, you can use TJ’s heirloom cherry tomatoes and avocados and it is quite good. This is a great salad to prepare with Mexican food or anything else for that matter.
GREAT FINDS FROM H&M
I have received several emails lately requesting stylish price friendly clothes. While I think we are always better off purchasing fewer good things, not everyone can afford them, and we all like a bargain, right?
I couldn’t believe how many great things H&M has right now. If you like something, grab it. Half of the things I found are already sold out. H&M has a great linen blend collection here that are similar to what you see me wear. Here are some of my favorite picks from H&M.

Cindy, I love a gallery wall. In our last house we had one of all antique and vintage seascapes. As we do not have the wall space and are not near the sea here we have given many away. Now I am starting a new collection of vintage equestrian pieces.
Have a wonderful week Cindy!

Cindy! I’ve had gallery walls on my mind recently and even started saving them to a GALLERY WALLS as a saved collection on instagram. Sherry Hart’s are always so creative!
Those Artemis loafers….what a find! I do need to buy a pair!

Hi Cindy,
I love Sherry Hart’s gallery wall. I can see how difficult it is to lay the art out first and then to hang them, but boy, is it worth it! There is a place in everyone’s closet for a bargain. You do a great job of balancing the more expensive with the bargains. Thank you.

Love this!,,

Hi Marilyn
Of course! It is so creative, I couldn’t resist!

I love a gallery wall. Have you ever tried using the 3M Command hangers for pictures? They seem like a good idea for a gallery wall if one wants to add or move things around without leaving holes in the wall.
I’m going to save that salad for the summer. Looks delicious.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Allison
I have not. I did use them recently for stockings on my mantle, but have not tried them in any other instances. I have a professional picture hanger, my husband…he is very precise!!
Janet Arden says
You had me at Gallery Walls! I also follow Sherry Hart Designs. Guess I’ll have to check out Vintage Curator and Coffee House too. Question: do you think gallery was;ls need a consistent theme? I usually try to put something else — beyond framed artwork — into the mix like a plate, basket or tray. Have a great week!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Janet
I do like a consisten theme to a point…I do like mixing in other items like you have suggested. It breaks up the monotony!

Preach! After H&M’s greenwashing scandal last year, I decided to swear off fast fashion for good. H&M produces 3 billion articles of clothing per year — and there’s a reason their prices are so low. I prefer to spend my limited clothing budget buying fewer items of higher quality, whether on eBay or direct from small retailers. Slow fashion definitely costs more, because the price reflects the actual cost of paying a living wage and producing quality items in a safe working environment, in an environmentally conscious way. As famed economist Milton Friedman wisely said, there’s no such thing as a free lunch — fast fashion is a great example of this.
Bette says
PS. I love how Cindy frequently mentions eBay as a place to buy high quality clothing. Thanks, Cindy, for keeping it real!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Bette
I am a huge ebay fan!!

Great points Bette!!
Joanna says
I love a gallery wall, especially when they tell a story. Some become a mish mash of things and then to my eye become clutter. Frames in the same color way (all antique gold or all black, etc) is always a winner. Pictures along the same theme work well together. Sherry’s antique picture walls are lovely, as will yours.
I’m trying to buy better quality pieces that I will love and use for years to come.I’m also buying less. By using the trick of turning your hangers around backward and then turning them around properly if you wore the piece during that current season showed me what my favourite pieces were and how little of my closet I actually wore. I now have a different outlook on shopping.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Joanna
Great points!!Couldn’t agree more. I only have one gallery wall in my home currently but am planning a couple of others!

Love gallery walls and always working on mine and adding to it. Sherri’s are so good and I love how she finds vintage frames and Gray did a super tutorial this week on her gallery wall method. She’s quite good at it too. So much fun inspiration. Cute outfit. Haven’t been to H&M for a while and we have a big one at Santana Row. I do think they sometimes have fun pieces. Ina’s tomato salad looks so good, I can’t wait for summer!
Cindy Hattersley says
Kim thank you for mentioning Gray! I completely missed that I would have loved to have linked to it.
Diane says
I love gallery walls too and just added more to the living room wall by shopping the rest of my home. Other rooms look a bit bare though. Ha!
Are you familiar with Quince clothing which is very affordable and well-made. Would you consider styling some of their pieces? I would love to see what you would do with their basic pieces, such as their wide-legged linen crop pants.
Thanks Cindy for such great posts.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Diane
I am familiar with Quince and have been meaning to try a couple of things. Thank you for reminding me!
Sherry Jackson Hart says
Aren’t you sweet featuring me… You are so gracious to everyone! I think I will head over to H&M today and see what they’ve got. I love their price point!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Sherry
You are the queen of vintage gallery walls. I always study yours for inspiration!!

Mary Ann Pickett says
Well, that was a lot of fun! All my favorite things too. Alie says H&M has great baby clothes too. That salad is right up my alley!!
