Farmer’s Market Salad, A Tropical Airbnb

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday!  We have been busy trying to get our front courtyard garden planted, but today we are going to take a break and head to Big Sur (yesterday was beautiful today is foggy!). I will report more about that on Instagram, but today I am joining Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday five favorites.  I am featuring a Farmer’s Market Salad, A Tropical Airbnb and much more!

HALF BAKED HARVEST PANZANELLA CAPRESE SALAD

This Panzanella Caprese salad from half-baked harvest ticked off all my summer boxes.  Farmers market fresh and wonderful.  I missed the Farmers Market this week but I am going to try to hit it Thursday to gather the ingredients for this beauty.

COCONUT CASITA VERO BEACH

My virtual friend Linda (former blogger at the Lime and the Coconut) has this darling Vero Beach Florida Airbnb.  Does anyone want to take a trip? You can follow Linda on Instagram here to see more of the beautiful property and the and surrounding area.  Oh, and did I mention the shenanigans of her Great Danes?

TROPICAL FUN OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

I found this darling linen blend tropical print skirt at Madewell, along with the great hat.  I ordered the Banana Republic Tank in three colors (super cheap). If you aren’t comfortable wearing sleeveless (I usually am not), my favorite linen shirt from J Crew could be worn over it, or without it tied at the waist.  The yellow box sandals, and Etsy accessories complete the look (all super reasonable). The skirt (75 on sale) is by far the most expensive item.  This outfit is definitely budget-friendly. I am on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses, love these from WP. All items linked below the graphic.

BALLARD DESIGN’S HOW TO DECORATE PODCAST

My friend Roxanne turned me on to this podcast.  Each week they do an in depth interview with a designer.  The most recent was with the charming James Farmer.  If you have trouble sleeping like me.  Pop on those headphones and listen to How to Decorate.  I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks so much, Cindy, for introducing me to Farm Rio clothing from Anthro! I went with your recommendation on the linen shirts from J Crew and bought 3 of them. They are the highest quality linen shirts that I have ever owned. I love the new relaxed fit….they fit me perfectly. Love, love, love your blog! Love your style…..it fits me to a “T”!

      Hi Donna

I agree about the J Crew shirts. I have them in nearly every color. I hope they never quit making them. I have some others that are more expensive and not nearly as nice. I like the new relaxed as well

        Hi Donna
Totally agree about the J Crew shirts. I have had my white one for several years and it just washes like a gem over and over. I have that shirt in green, lavender, black, and probably more that I have forgotten!!

I don’t know who the cookbook author is for the panzanella salad, but she had me laughing at her chatty style of writing. It looks yummy and this week is supposed to be hot here so this sounds like a good recipe to make.
I do listen to podcasts and this one sounds like a good genre to listen to for a change.
The skirt from Madewell is pretty. I ordered one that is a linen blend knotted midi skirt (sarong-like) from Madewell that I took to Kona. It worked out great in spite of the fact that I don’t usually wear skirts. I think you have commented the same, nor do I do ruffles so the blue sarong was more “me”. Maybe I found it from your blog??
    Thanks for another fun read~

I’ve signed up to get the podcasts. I love a good podcast, especially when it’s about decorating. Thanks for the lead.
We love Big Sur, have a relaxing Sunday.
    xo,

I so miss Lime and the Coconut! It was a fabulous blog. I wish she’d go back to it. I may have to drive “across the pond” from Naples to Vero Beach for a quick getaway OMG, the casita!!!! I’m afraid I’d never want to leave! The Great Danes would have to chase me to the car and not let me return. Is that the house her mother lived in, I wonder? Great find!

    • Linda says

Hi Cherie!! YES….. it is the house my Mom lived in on our property. Sadly we lost her 3 years ago, and unsure what to do with it, on a whim we turned it into an Airbnb . She loved folks and this felt like a great way to share her legacy and our garden. So far ( 2 years) it has been amazing. We meet amazing, cool, travelled guests.! (Plus….. it is a bit of a creative outlet)

We love Vero Beach. We have cousins who own a home there and love to visit. Your friend’s airbnb looks wonderful. VB has great shops, beaches, restaurants and “vibe”.
