Happy Sunday! Today I am joining Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday favorites. Let’s take a look at Sunday favorites Rustic Chic, with Jill Sharp Weeks, WW Soup, Summer, Santa Fe and a Cheap Chic Outfit for you.
JILL SHARP WEEKS ON INSTAGRAM
Do you follow Jill Sharp Weeks on Instagram? Her styling just brings me to my knees! I am in complete awe of her talent. She has a raw earthy aesthetic that is hers alone. She currently has homes in Santa Fe and Charleston. She has just started building a new home, which I am sure will be incredible.
Her incredible Charleston abode.
Her console at her Santa Fe home.
SUMMER LOVE
Summer is back at school so we will not see her until we have our first vaccine (which isn’t happening very fast here in CA). Her summer nanny was home from college so she filled in for us the last couple of Wednesdays. As you can see Summer was in “horse” heaven. Her family has a horse ranch and Summer loves animals, especially horses. I thought I would share these photos she snapped.
LINDA APPLEWHITE ON THE LOVE OF A HOUSE AND MOVING ON
Many of you mentioned in the survey that you would like a post on downsizing and how one deals with it. This post was sent to me by one of my readers since we will be experiencing this in the future. She resides in Santa Fe (one of my favorite places on earth). I thought I would share this with you. This was her charming garden in Santa Fe.
WEIGHT WATCHERS SOUP AND UPDATE
I have been on WW for almost two weeks and I have lost five pounds. I had my first Pizza on Friday night from one of our favorite restaurants in town Patria. We try to get take out at least every other week so they can stay in business. It was delicious! I basically didn’t eat all day so I could enjoy it! To be honest, when I go on WW I usually follow the plan pretty strictly during the week and then cheat on the weekend so I can stand it. I wanted to give myself a good ten days before I did any major cheating. At any rate back on the wagon. Most of the WW recipes need a little “umpf” in my opinion but I made this Shrimp and Vegetable Soup and it was delicious as is. I substituted chicken because I was out of shrimp. Next time I will make it with frozen TJ’s shrimp. If you can’t get lemongrass no worries just add some lime zest and call it good.
THINGS I AM LOVING THIS WEEK
You asked for it a Cheap Chic Outfit. I know maybe ripped jeans aren’t your thing but I have been tempted. I read somewhere that this pair from H&M are their favorites. For $31 I gave them a try and I love them! If these are too “rustic” you might want to try these from the Gap The Treasure and Bond f Sweater from Nordstrom is high low just like the J Crew but a crewneck and it is $31.00. The accessories from Novica are fabulous. Peepers on sale for cheap! The Born booties are half price and I am loving the jute crossbody bag.
That’s it for my Sunday Favorites Rustic Chic. Now pop over and visit
Mary from Life at Bella Terra says
The picture of Summer on the horse is so heartwarming. Must be hard not to see her, but thank goodness for FaceTime. We are debating downsizing too, but friends who have done it, don’t do it for long. They tend to buy a bigger place because they entertain their family (and grandchildren, etc.). I can’t imagine not living her at Bella Terra. This is such a one of a kind property here in Phoenix and I love having the land and privacy. Maybe I could turn it into an old age home for me! Ha! For me, the jury’s out on torn jeans. I just think it’s a much, much younger look?

Hi Mary
I am struggling with all your thoughts on downsizing but feel it is time. We are hoping to get vaccine soon because we miss Summer so much.
Pam says
I am getting my first Moderna shot Thursday. When we moved a neighbor gave us very valuable advice. She said “you must be ruthless!” We took that to heart and when ever one of us hesitated, we would say ruthless”. It worked very well for us and I have never missed anything we got rid of. My mother was a paper hoarder. When my parents passed away, it took my brother and me almost a year to clean out their house. It made it very easy for me to get rid of “stuff” when we moved.

We still are not even eligible to get our vaccine here in CA, I have registered every place I can think of. Everyone says how can you leave this place and then I read your wordsl. I don’t want our kids to spend months getting rid of stuff if we stay too long. There is a time for all of us to move on.

Hi Cindy,
The pictures of Summer are adorable. I know you must be heartbroken to not be able to see you regularly. I have a friend that managed an appointment at the Disneyland vaccine location. She’s going tomorrow so I’ll know more of how it worked out. It’s truly frustrating but I’m sure supply will catch up with demand soon. ❤️
Love all of your finds this week.
xo,
Karen

You think so? She isn’t much of a poser. It is very hard to get even a snap of her at this age. I will try!

Girls trip Elizabeth! You would love the shopping!
Melinda says
I wonder if she is the same Applewhite lady (can’t remember the first name)who was a decorating show close to 20 years ago.
Kay says
We “downsized” a year ago when our house burned down in the California wildfires. “Moving on” takes on a different hue for me.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Kay
Oh my, I am so sorry to hear you lost your house last year. I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been.
Francesca B. says
Love the soup thank you Cindy! Ans Summer is just gorgeous! Happy week 🙂
Leslie says
Great post. Just wanted to say my medical center says we are not fully protected with enough antibodies until 30 days after the second vaccine. Wishing it was as easy as getting one shot. 😕

Che dire…… Con le meravigliose foto della piccola Summer tutto il resto passa in secondo ordine pur essendo articoli estremamente interessanti.
