A HEARTWARMING STORY AND MORE
JANE PAULEY’S INTERVIEW WITH JOHN MELLENCAMP
I really enjoyed this interview Jane Pauley had with John Mellencamp
Jane and John are both natives of Indiana. John still has a home there.
M ELLE DESIGN ON INSTAGRAM
I love the mother-daughter design team from Southern California’s work. Do you follow them on Instagram? They never disappoint. You can also see their complete portfolio here.
A HEARTWARMING STORY
WHEN A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO HONOR ONE OF THEIR OWN
Tyler’s grandparents were our neighbors and friends for over 10 years at the lake. . We watched Tyler grow up. I think you will enjoy this article about the community of Hollister and how they honored Tyler and his 4H work.
The weather is definitely changing here on the Central Coast. I spend most of my days at the computer. My office is right off the backyard but it can be chilly in the morning and hopefully, we will be getting rain soon. I need something to tote my laptop back in forth. This one from Rothys will keep it dry. I am living the shearling-lined sorrels for walking breaks. The leggings are the same cozy-chic light ones from last week. I need to stock up, and the sweatshirt from Gap in multiple pretty colors I am stocking up on $49! The bandana is a splurge but cozy! All items are linked below the graphic.

WASHINGTON POST MUSHROOM PAPARADELLE WITH MIXED MUSHROOMS
I am a huge mushroom fan (I am sure you have noticed). I have made different incarnations of this recipe but this one from the Washington Post is the best I have tried. I made it for Colin and Lauren’s birthdays and they both loved it.
I served it with the Tomato, Peach, and Burrata Salad from Two Peas and Their Pod that I shared here. It also got a big thumbs up from everyone.
Thank you for reading A Heartwarming Story and More. Now pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for their favorites.

Cindy,
What a heartwarming story. I was truly touched by the love the community showed him and well deserved.
I found some great items on the GAP sale. It’s that time of year to buy a few cozy things to wear around the house.
Yummy mushroom pasta recipe. Thanks for a great post.
xo,
Karen

Cindy, I loved the story of Tyler and his pig. IT brought tears to my eyes because my niece has Rhett’s Syndrome and I often wonder what her life will be like. This past weekend she went to the homecoming dance and there was such a stark contract between her and her peers. I pray and hope for the best but one never knows that that will be when you have a child with special needs.
Have a wonderful week Cindy.

Your fair story reminded me of what happened in Wisconsin this summer. To read the story go to:

Thank you for sharing, their are still good people in the world.
Your recipes look delicious! I look forward to your posts every Sunday.

Great Sunday morning read and thanks for featuring the Mellencamp story. Truly an American original that lives by his own lights and congas in his own line! The mushroom/pappardelle dinner looks perfect as an autumn meatless meal. Oh, and getting those sherpa-lined booties. Such a cute outfit for these cooler months. Don’t you just love it? Have a great week!

Thank you for a heart-warming story and recipe that looks good enough that I printed it out. I kept waiting to see cream in the ingredient list or something decadent. This way, it sounds quite healthy!
It’s cool and windy here so the Gap 1/2 zip looks like a good piece for this time of year. Sadly, our Gap store in SLO closed a few years ago.
Thanks for another fun Sunday read~

Tyler’s story choked me up…thank you! Also, I made your mushroom pasta recently with a mixed bad of wild mushrooms from the Farmer’s Market…so good! My mouth is watering.
I have a Rothy’s pouch that my sister-in-law gave me and I love it. Great quality.

Thank you!! I fell in love with the peach, tomato and burrata salted but peaches are out of season (at least in Florida) so I have mangos ripening as a substitute – wish me luck!
Cindy Hattersley says
HI JANE
I BET IT WILL BE YUMMY WITH MANGOS! PEACHES ARE STILL IN SEASON FOR A BIT HERE.
