Hi Everyone. We have a huge thanksgiving gathering every year (our favorite holiday). I have been thinking about how I could up my Thanksgiving tablescape (well we have several) so it doesn’t look the same as last year or the year before. As I have shared before, I am not a big fan of Holiday specific tableware because we drag it out for a couple of days and store it for the rest of the year. However, you can order new napkins, add some fun salad plates or inexpensive stemware to help you elevate your fall tablescape.
I spotted this gorgeous fireplace on Pinterest and it inspired me to create a tablescape with a modern earthy vibe.
I could see this tablescape in this striking dining room
If you have a round table you could use this metal rosebud wreath as a base surrounded by greens or you could hang it on a window. I love these wreaths because they can be used year after year. The black wrap is from Target. These large scarves make great inexpensive table toppers. Use your imagination grab some moss and twigs from your yard and create your own earthy tablescape. All products are linked below the inspiration board.
My next tablescape has it’s roots in the forest. If you live somewhere where you can enjoy dinner outside, you can have fun with this one.
This gorgeous wreath from Terrain would be a great foundation. Grab a roll of moss, add the beautiful hurricanes from Anthro, and maybe use some of your own stash to carry out this theme. The Juliska plates are pricey but could be used season to season. I like to buy different salad plates and use my white plates as a base. That way you don’t have a big investment and you can switch things out.
If you have been reading my blog long you know that glam is not really my jam but I am going to do my best to create a pretty tablescape that isn’t too “glammy” with touches of blush. I might actually venture in that direction in my own dining room this year.
If you need inspiration Janet from Shabby Fu Fu and Sheila from Maison de Cinq really know how rock this look. Here is Janets gorgeous table.
I adore this mantle that Sheila (Maison de Cinq) created .
Love the leopard salad plates from Pier 1 are super reasonable as well as the faux bois chargers, lay the gorgeous garland from Terrain down the center and you are good to go.
I hope you can find inspiration in these tablescapes and have some fun with them. There are tons of reasonable options that would also make fun hostess gifts. Anthropologie is offering 20% off on everything home, so it is a great time to pick up a gift for a friend or items that will help you elevate your fall tablescape.

We are traveling for Thanksgiving this year, staying at an air b and b – and still cooking. I’ve already started prepping and freezing, and I think I’ll do the same from now on. The oven was on for dinner the other night, so I threw in the cornbread for the dressing, already have mirepoix chopped and measured for a couple of dishes, I’ll make breakfast quiche next weekend and freeze a second to take with us, etc. I think it really is my favorite cooking holiday (even though I secretly don’t like turkey).
Love your tables – thanks for the great ideas!

I agree about the table in the woods. I used to do fundraising events and the amount of work that went into that event makes me glad I am retired!!! Thanksgiving is my favorite, too. My MIL didn’t like to cook, home was 500 miles away and if were to have Thanksgiving, I knew I had to learn how to do that. So many hysterical mistakes. Thank God I didn’t do the typical leaving innards bag in the bird while it roasted…but some were close! My front garden was last to be planted and I made it my fall and winter garden. Lots of things to “prune” for the table. My bridal china was “Autumn” and I still use it for Thanksgiving.

Oh Patricia…those fundraising events….I used to do a Holiday tour so thankful that is over. I love thanksgiving everyone brings something. We have all benn together for several years now so everyone has their specialties. I do the turkey, two dressings, gravy and cranbery salad, everyone else bring the rest! I am not a baker so no one would want anything that I bake!

Love, love this post. The table in the woods is spectacular. Imagine cooking enough food for that dinner. 🙂
I really lean towards the natural elements this time of year and you always give us plenty of inspiration and ideas.
