Do you Favor a Neutral Palette in your Home and Wardrobe
Do you love a neutral palette in your home and wardrobe? If so, you’re in good company. Isn’t there something timeless and effortlessly simple about neutrals—they can create a sense of calm, sophistication, and cohesion whether you’re dressing for the day or decorating your living space. As the summer heats up neutrals just seem calmer and cooler don’t you think?.As with Beth Webb’s inimitable interior styling, embracing a neutral palette in your wardrobe can allow texture to take center stage. Do you favor a neutral palette in your home and wardrobe filled with texture, or are you all in for color?
Beth Webb’s Latest Project in Milieu
It is no secret I am a huge fan of Beth Webb’s work. Her designs are timeless. Beth recently collaborated on this project recently featured in Mileu with renowned architect Stanley Dixon. Even if you don’t embrace neutrals in your own decor you can appreciate Beth’s masterful touch when it comes to layering texture. Beth and architect Stanley Dixon have often worked together and this project on the Tennessee river.is masterful. The project is photographed by the talented Lisa Romerein.

Asian Inspired Noodle Salad

I increased the dressing by 1/2 and added about a cup of edamame, snow peas, and shrimp for a one dish meal and we ate it for a couple days and loved it. Next time I will add chicken. I separated the shrimp and stored separately, so we could eat the leftovers without the shrimp tainting it.
Outfits of the Week
What’s cooler than neutrals when the heat soars?

I own the Banana Republic linen kick flare in brown and I am ordering the white. I wear a 6. I have several of the J Crew Baird McNutt linen shirts and they wear like iron. I think the Cole Haan bag, the and the hat are great options for the price. Dolce Vita gifted me the above sneakers, and they are super comfortable (sharing on Tuesday as well). I love the textural detail. You can’t go wrong with a pair of machete tortoise earrings and Caddis shades.

I featured the companion shirt to this J Crew dress last week (sharing on Tuesday) and I have been coveting this dress (it’s on sale). One of my readers alerted me to the Cole Haan sandals which she says are very comfortable.
Local Shop Love
We are very lucky to have so many women owned small boutiques in our town. One of my favorites is Sole Tree . How many small towns have a great shoe store that carries comfortable stylish shoes with an owner that cares about her customers and her community. Lisa is that person. You can follow Sole Tree Paso Robles on Instagram here.

Yes it’s Neutral all the way…..my wardrobe and also decor!
Hi Suzanne
I find neutrals easier especially when travelling!
When we lived in Florida the home originally was very neutral. After a few years I couldn’t stand it. I’m someone who craves color, especially greens. I was typed a paintbox spring by HOC recently and I can see why. I love color in my clothing also. Neutrals and pastels really wash me out.
Hi Pam
I get it!! I love both. The main pieces of furniture in my home are neutral but I love adding in color in my accessories. In my wardrobe I like both..it depends on my mood!!
Great post! The pretty neutrals in design and outfit, salad sounds terrific (we’re in a heat wave here so it’s perfect).
Hi Barb
Try the salad I think you would enjoy it!!
Hi Cindy,
Gorgeous salad l am going to make it,and thank you for a lovely post this Sunday.
Happy week!
You are the best Francesca!!
Hi CIndy,
the pants in brown are gorgeous! I noticed, though, that in your picture there’s some interesting drawn work at the hem, but the linked pants don’t have that.
Hi Cara
You are very observant! The white has the detail on the bottom but the other colors (the brown that I will share on Tuesday) does not. I was surprised at that as well!
Cindy,
I do love neutrals, but lately I’m drawn to color too! I think neutrals became so boring for a while, but not the neutrals you are showing with plenty of texture, warm neutrals, and with a sense of history. For a while, everything looked so Jenni Kayne, and while beautiful, there was no sense of history. Everything looked a little too perfect. I love the way Beth mixes iron and linen, and always something, like big branches!
That salad looks amazing! Great idea to keep the shrimp separate!
xx
Annie
Hi Annie
Cannot wait to catch up and here about your trip!!
I do love a neutral palette! You are right about it being cool to wear, especially in a heat wave! I’m going to make that salad!
Hi Mary Ann
I used to make that salad years ago before edamame was readily available. I have also seen it with slivered carrots. I think I will add them the next time as well. It is great to have for leftovers!
I think you will like it Mary Ann!!
