5 Favorite 2025 Interior Design Books with Collected Style

I’ve always believed that the most beautiful homes are those that tell a story. They aren’t just a collection of “matchy matched” furniture; they are a reflection of a life well-lived, filled with treasures and memories. This “collected look” is my signature style. A home that has evolved over time is a home that feels authentic and inviting to me. One of my favorite ways to find inspiration is by poring over design books. Today, I’m excited to share 5 favorite 2025 interior design books with collected style. Each is filled with rooms that feel collected, timeless and deeply personal.

5 Favorite 2025 Interior Design Books with Collected Style

Alfredo Paredes at Home

Alfredo Paredes, who many of you may know was the former Chief Creative Officer for Ralph Lauren for over 30 years, has gone on to create a design legacy all his own. In his book, Alfredo Paredes at Home he opens the doors to four of his wonderful homes, each one a masterclass in what has been called his “perfect visual pitch.” His interiors exude a masculine collected look that I love.

The cover picture of Alfredo Paredes at Home was a source of inspiration for me when we designed our small den. If you missed my post on the process of designing this space you can read about that here, or the finished product here (you rarely see it anymore because we keep the door closed because of you know who). Hopefully this winter we can reinhabit it!

The World of Peter Dunham

I have Peter Dunham’s book the World of Peter Dunham.Peter Dunham’s style exudes laid-back California living with a global, collected flair. Known for his fearless mix of color, pattern, and texture, he loves to blend block prints, antiques, and modern treasures to create spaces that are collected and inviting. Several years ago Mary Ann, Annie, Debra and I were guests at a lovely reception Peter Dunham had for those of us attending a design bloggers conference in LA. He couldn’t have been more welcoming or down to earth.

Peter may be a little bolder with pattern than I am at this stage in life, but I love his layered collected looks. Over the years, I’ve filled both my former and current homes with pillows from his fabric line.

Jeffrey Alan Marks This is Home

This is home is one of my favorites from this year. I devoted an entire post to it here. The former “Million Dollar Decorator” also finds inspiration in the relaxed lifestyle, and colors of our California coast in his interiors. He is a master at incorporating natural materials like wood, linen, and rattan, with antiques for a laid-back, organic feel.

Beth Webb’s Embracing Beauty

If you have been reading this blog long, you know I am a huge fan of Beth Webb’s work. You can find all of my posts honoring her work here, Beth and her husband Chuck were also kind enough to allow us to interview them for Ageless Style here last year as well. Her latest book Embracing Beauty is always close at hand in my home.

Beth often favors a neutral color palette with whites, beiges, and grays, but her spaces are anything but boring thanks to her focus on rich textures and natural materials like wood, linen, and stone. Beth believes a home should be a personal sanctuary that engages all the senses and reflects the owner’s lifestyle

Tom Scheerer’s Still Decorating

Tom Scheerer’s Still Decorating features eighteen of his latest projects. This is his third book and I own all three.

Tom Scheerer describes his style as “relaxed modernism”. His work is elegant and sophisticated, but never pretentious or stuffy. He believes a home should be a comfortable and easy place to live. He achieves this with his curated mix of high-quality pieces with more accessible items.

I have added a collection of unique collected home furniture and decor items to my ShopMy store here. I will be adding more items periodically, so if you enjoy it, bookmark it and check back.

I hope each of these “5 Favorite 2025 Interior Design Books with Collected Style” will inspire you to embrace the journey of creating a home with a story. A truly “collected” space isn’t about perfection; it’s about the warmth and personality that come from mixing the old and new, combining different eras, and celebrating the treasures you’ve found along the way. Remember, your home is a reflection of your life, and the best interiors are those that feel personal and authentic. So go find a cozy chair, put your feet up, grab a glass of wine and enjoy. I would love to hear what your favorite design books are! Please share!

    1. I’m sorry to hear you lost your home, Nancy. We were affected by the Eaton fire in that we were evacuated for seven days but came home to an intact home and neighborhood. We have driven the area of Altadena where an incredible number of homes were leveled by the quick-spreading flames, which will be desolate and undergoing renovation for a general to come. I haven’t been to the Palisades in many years yet can picture the devastation. My heart and empathy go out to you and yours …

    1. Hi Heidi

Those are all very successful accomplished designers. This list was specifically my favorites with a “collected” style, a mix of old and new, high and low etc. The books that I chose to purchase so far this year. Everyone has their own personal favorite list!

    2. P.S

  6. Always loved a collected look. Your eyes are always roaming in rooms like collected. Matchy matchy is boring.
