Unique Personal Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas
Ready to step up your holiday gifting game? For me, the wrapping is just as important as the gift itself. If you’re looking to add a unique, personal touch to every present this Christmas, you’ve come to the right place. From incorporating natural elements to simple, clever DIY hacks, I’m sharing all my favorite ideas for creating unique personal Christmas gift wrap ideas.

Almost every holiday season I incorporate simple kraft paper, or butcher paper into my wrapping paper mix. It is earth friendly, inexpensive, and nearly every color of ribbon compliments it. Inexpensive craft paper or white gift boxes, or gift bags with your favorite color of ribbon and an interesting tag create a cohesive look. I usually forgo bows (I am not a personal fan) in favor of simple ties. I sometimes add embellishments (I am not a huge fan of bows), such as a bit of foraged greenery, pepper berries, a simple wreath, perhaps monograms ,cinnamon, or a bit of glitter, Attach with hot glue if necessary.
Brown, Tan & Green Gift Wrap Ideas
Brown kraft paper is the ultimate blank canvas for Christmas gifting, and frankly, I think it’s essential for personal wrapping. Its humble, rustic texture provides a beautifully neutral background that immediately elevates whatever you pair it with.

This was the color scheme I chose the year we lived in the Fixer Upper. The dark green velvet ribbon set the theme. For the gift tags I used a collection of vintage photographs of the recipients, turning those old, meaningful snapshots into one-of-a-kind gift tags that I secured with twine. It was especially fun for Summer to try and figure out which present went to each person. I save my ribbon from year to year and reuse it.
Black Green & White Gift Wrap Ideas

This ensemble was created back in 2018, Summer’s first Christmas. A few of the holiday gifts were embellished with fresh bay leaves for interest. Some years I will add dried orange slices, or cinnamon sticks, acorns or whatever compliments that years Christmas decor.
Red, Gold Black & Silver Gift Wrap Ideas

I rarely wrap my Christmas presents in red. This was Christmas 2016 in our former home where I featured a mix of silver, gold, red and black. These gift tags were purchased at Marshalls I believe. Marshalls is a great resource for holiday gift-wrapping supplies and decor at good prices. I recall I found the jingle bells there as well. Evergreen sprigs add visual interest.
Gold, Blue & White Gift Wrap Ideas

In 2023 Summer was so infatuated with tigers so I fashioned her gift tags with them. In contrast, ours were made on Canva using different pieces of vintage botanical art. The color story was gold, blue and white.
Silver, Red, Chartreuse and Black Gift Wrap Ideas

I am not sure what year this was, but this was a fun color combination. The black and natural stripe paper was a fun addition. The gift tags were probably purchased from Marshall’s or Target.
Chartreuse, Black and Silver

I created these packages the first year my son and daughter in law opened Farmer’s Union Pourhouse. The chartreuse paper coordinated with the wall color, and the burlap complimented the rustic original brick walls. I still own and use the bells.
Gold & Blue Gift Wrap Ideas

I created this gift wrap option several years ago for Artful Home. You can read my post on Creative Ways to Decorate with Christmas Ornaments all Year Long here. Artrful Home still carries variations of these fabulous ornaments here. These make wonderful gifts. Remember to use my code Cindy25 for 25% off the entire site.
Gold, White, Brown and Pink

This was a fun color story perhaps from 2020? This was the first year I incorporated recycled sari ribbon. The gift tags featured victorian dog photos for fun.
Blue Gold and White

Last but not least Christmas 2024 I repeated the dog theme with a blue and gold theme. The matte gold paper I have had for years (it is almost gone). Brown craft paper & white boxes make wrapping simple!
I hope you enjoyed my unique personal Christmas gift wrap ideas. Remember, gift wrapping is an extension of the thought and care you’ve put into your presents for each recipient. By using simple gift wrap supplies, natural elements, and a touch of creativity, you can make your gifts as beautiful and meaningful on the outside as they are on the inside. Whether it’s a sprig of greenery, a rustic ribbon, or a handmade tag, each detail adds a layer of charm and personality that is all your own. I hope these ideas inspire you this time of year to embrace the joy of wrapping . I will share my current wrapping scheme on my Sunday faves. Have you started your gift wrapping? I would love to hear how you approach it if so!

I am the least creative person I know. Your gift wrapping looks so creative and artistic – I am full of decorating envy. Where I live there is a dearth of affordable shops selling those unique bits and pieces needed and when I have tried to emulate a look such as yours, the results looked poxy. My presents get wrapped in Costco Christmas paper and I you tubed how to tie a bow. Not all at creative , but it is as good as I can muster. I do, however, draw the line at sticking on those pre-made bows. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Maybe next year I can order the Canva tags.
Susan you gave me a good chuckle!! You can create the tags yourself of Canva!
Love the ideas, and immediately honed in on the beachy blue and gold ones.
But can I ask that one day, you take us through how you did the Canva tags, including printing please? I’ve used Canva for online book promotion stuff but have never delivered it through to a printed card. I love the idea.
In my state here in Australia, we do have a version of a dollar store that sells amazing stuff for collage – tags and such, and I also sometimes buy beautiful washi tapes and stamps from a specialist stationery shop. I think I need to follow your example and become more creative.
Hi Prue
I will do that sometime!!
Wow! Your packages are spectacular!
Hi Judie
Thank you so much I love wrapping packages!!
You’ve given me such great inspiration for gift wrapping ideas. Thank you!
Hi Judy
Happy Holidays! Of course!!
Great ideas! Love the tags and clever verbiage. I used to go all out dipping eucalyptus in gilding and other natural elements. This year it will be white elephant gifts with the extended family which will have to be wrapped on site. We are flying rather than driving so wrapping may be rather boringly grocery store bags. Still it’s the thought that counts right?
Hi Cristi!!
Absolutely!! Enjoy!
