Tips for Eating Healthy, Staying Fit, and Glowing Skin After 60
A Delicious Healthy Dinner
We were lucky enough to be guests at my friend Wren’s (you have seen her comment here many times) home on Friday night. She served this healthy and delicious meal. It was a delightful evening and the food was fabulous!

Wren prepared this delicious sweet corn gazpacho as a starter.

The main course was ,salmon with pesto sour cream sauce, delicious lentils de puy,( maybe Wren will chime in with the recipe,I couldn’t find it) this lentil cucumber salad sounds delicious as well. and yummy tomatoes provencal.
Ageist-Unlocking Gut Health
I think you might enjoy this Ageist Podcast Unlocking Gut Health with Dr. Will Bulsiewicz. I found it fascinating.
Occasionally I skip my outfit of the week, and I always get complaints. I spotted this long line vest on the Rag and Bone sale site at less than half price. I would have it in my basket if it were black instead of blue. It has the same great fit as the Slade blazer ( of which I own two). It is a great transition piece for fall at a great price point.

I styled the vest casually with a ralph lauren scarf, a chambray shirt from J Crew Factory, a Bed Stu tote, gap jeans, vintage belt from Etsy, a pair of Ariat western booties (they come in wide if you have bunions) that I am coveting.

In this iteration I have styled the vest with Gentle Soul booties (on super sale$49), Quince ponte boot cut pants, a J Crew white shirt (also on sale), and an All Saints cross body bag on sale as well.
AARP-Aging Skin
I was at a olive oil tasting last night and someone commented on how many great articles they have found on AARP. I can’t believe how many people shy away from AARP because they think the articles are only for the old and infirmed. They could not be more wrong. AARP has wonderful contributors and is a wealth of information. You might find this article 8 Things You are Doing Wrong to Aging Skin interesting.
Regular Life-long Excercise Keeps the Body Young
You might find this study from Ball State University (in my home state) interesting if you are a lifelong exerciser.
Thank you for reading Tips for Eating Healthy, Staying Fit, and Glowing Skin After 60. As we embrace our 60s and beyond, let’s make our journey to health and wellness a personal and rewarding one.

Now let’s pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann and see what they have to share!

Cindy, Have you tried the lentil Salad from the Silver Palate cookbook. It has been my go to for years. I have a new food obsession, Trader Joe’s Lemon Pesto. It is simply divine. I have used it every day for the past week. I love your outfit of the week! Right down my alley. The Ball Stare study was very intrresting!
Hi Beth
I don’t think I have but I sure will now that you have recommended it. I must try the lemon pesto too. Is it in the refrigerated section of Trader Joe’s.
Cindy,
I could not agree with you more about AARP, they have great articles, as does the Costco magazine. There are lots of places to get nuggets of information.
Love the outfit, although I have to be honest, I could not wear that. I have big butt and that would not look very good on me. It is a great piece for the colder months ahead.
Wrens’ healthy dinner looks scrumptious!
Ina Garten’s Warm French Lentils recipe is very similar to the one shown. Delicious!
Thanks Monica!
Weighing in, the tomatoes Provençal comes from Georgeanne Brennan’s book, The Food and Flavors of Haute Provence. I was lucky enough to spend a week with her in Aups for a cooking class many years ago. The Mediterranean diet is so easy for me to stick to, being on the coast of California.
Thanks Wren! Everything was delicious!
Cindy—that corn gazpacho looks amazing! And I think the salmon with lentils sounds like an Ina Garten recipe! I made it often…love your outfits of the week!!
Xx
Hi Annie
Thank you!!
What size would you take in the vest if you were to buy it?
Hi Lisa

Sorry! I fixed it!
I love my Pinterest boards …so many categories… and added the corn gazpacho…thanks!
I did try to add Ina Garten’s tomatoes Provençal , but it doesn’t stick…but no matter, as I have a few of her cookbooks and it’s likely in one . Love the vest, but at $330 + way beyond my budget. Still aspirational !
I had a moving / driveway/ yard sale yesterday, as our house sold last month and we desperately needed to edit. Moved a lot of “treasures”on to other homes, with compliments on the quality of many pieces. I so enjoyed meeting people who lingered and chatting…my strength and positive vibes during this stressful ‘ grey divorce’. Now the rest goes to Salvation Army etc nearby in small drop off loads. Job done! On to the next…slow packing of seldom used household goods which are still required…and very obvious labels…he goes back to Alberta and I move to a wee place locally! Sad, but logical , after struggling for much of our nearly 30 year relationship. Ladies, take heart… if this is your situation, you deserve to have a more joyful life than continue feeling “less than” , as I had been. ❤️
Cindy, your blog up is always uplifting…thank you!
Blessings to you on this big change. Your attitude is everything and you will do well!
Carol S. Thankyou! 💌 I appreciate your kindness. I certainly have days when the challenges seem rather overwhelming, but the move is now just 6 weeks away.
Once settled in, I have an opportunity to put my unique stamp on my place, something I used to do for clients. Just a very limited budget, as the client is Me!
Cindy has such inspiring interiors ideas, don’t you think?
I transformed our beautiful home here, inside and out , including the garden, and it ended up being sold for more than twice what we paid for it 10 years ago. I cannot take all of the credit , since this area has risen in value exponentially…really quite ridiculous… but it has been a lovely, albeit somewhat unhappy , home. 🏡
Moving on… C🇨🇦
This is a hard time Cath but one with your positive attitude that you will not only survive but thrive. Kuddos for making the jump at this time in life. Everyone deserves to be happy and it sounds like you will be more so once alone. Lean on your friends.
Thanks for your kind words of support, Joanna. 💌 Are you the neighbour further up island who was looking for White Stuff, the colourful UK brand I wear? If so,I hope you found Fresh Boutique when down this way enjoying the Sandcastle competition. C 🇨🇦
Yes, I am and I did find the store while at the Sand Sculpture competition. I didn’t buy anything but will check out their fall lineup.
Best of luck,
~Joanna
Cath I have no doubt that you will rise above this and prosper. You have a positive spirit and strength. I know how difficult this must be currently, but happiness will follow you! Big love to you!
