Timeless Pieces Worth Buying at the Nordstrom Sale

Today I am joining my pals Mary Ann and Annie. We are going to try to bring you the best from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.I have to admit I am not a huge Nordstrom Sale buyer. I tend to “bargain” shop year round. I know many of you swear by it so I have scoured the sale from top to bottom and these are the Timeless Pieces Worth Buying at the Nordstrom Sale in my humble opinion.

If you have Influencer status you can shop today. I had these Olukai shoes favorited for Steve and when I checked at 12:01 they were already sold out in his size. If your husband loves them like mine and doesn’t wear a half size these are an incredible buy!

If you love wool and cashmere they have some great buys. Left to Right. This Eileen Fisher vest is 90%wool and 10% cashmere and is reversible so you get two for the price of one. It is pricey but timeless and comes in extended sizing. This long cashmere sweater (nordstrom brand) is also timeless and cozy. The camel cashmere is from Vince. I know many of you are Vince fans. I love this black cashmere poncho. It comes in several other colors as well. If I could lose a few pounds I would buy this beautiful cashmere dress. The reversible jacket is also from Eileen Fisher. You can’t go wrong with this cashmere scarf at a great price, and the Treasure and Bond leather moto jacket is a great price if you are in the market for one.

Have pajamas and robes gotten ridiculously expensive, or is it just me? We are getting ready to take a little trip and my pajama situation is kind of pathetic. The Nsale always has some good buys on sleep and loungewear worth checking out.

Workout wear has also gotten crazy expensive. If you are in the market, you might find some good buys here.

I did find some great handbags. I love each and every one of these.

If you like designer jeans, I would check out the jean section of the sale. I have not yet found a pair that works for me. I really like the Kut from the Kloth brand that is much more reasonable. You can find them here in the sale section. I like the Meg for a wide leg and the Rachel. If you are a fan of the Spanx Faux Leather leggings (I am), you can find them here for a great price.

Nordstrom always has several Pom Pom at Home items in their sale. I have included several of their items (I have many in my own home), along with a few other good buys.

I have to tell you scouring that Nordstrom website is exhausting. Hopefully I found a few items that you are interested in. As I was publishing this several items are already sold out. I am sorry about that. Check back they do restock. If you missed my post on flattering swimwear and coverups you can find it here.

Thank you for reading Timeless Pieces Worth Buying at the Nordstrom Sale. Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for their picks.

Thanks for the information. I enjoy your posts very much. I have already purchased two Mer Sea wraps and had some nice comments the first time I wore one.

Cindy! For someone not that into the Nordstrom Sale, I would have to say you found the best of everything! I love the investment pieces and those pajamas too!

Many years ago, Anniversary Sale was an event! It was fun and a chance to get great deals on both classic and on-trend pieces. When my kids were growing up, we always spent the day at a store – my son absolutely hated shopping, but he would agree to this one trip a year and we pretty much stocked up on his year’s wardrobe . We ate lunch at the Cafe, spent (and saved) a ton of money, and had a great time. After moving to the Central Coast we would trek 1.5 hours down to Santa Barbara to continue the tradition. Now the Santa Barbara store is closed, and the online experience is disappointing. There are so many items to choose from, but many are not that good a deal or they are weird styles or colors (the classics never seem to be available). The Wish List sounds like a good idea, but it is disappointing when the items are all sold out. Last year was the first year I didn’t purchase anything at Anniversary Sale – and it is looking like I may pass again this year. Sad, because it was such a wonderful event at what was one of my favorite stores.

      Hi Barbara

I think there are some great items for the home, cashmere, and some great handbags if one is in the market. It has taken us so long for summer here it is hard to think about winter already!!

There are some very good things on this sale but remember it’s just a sale and should not create such frustration for any one, don’t attach some much emotion into it.
    I really enjoy your blog.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Lucretia

Oh dear I am not frustrated. I am sorry if I sounded that way. I think perhaps it has taken so long for summer to arrive here it is hard to think about winter!

    Hi Cindy,

I really relate to everything you said about the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Frustration to say the least. I think Nordstrom is a fine store
and they treat their customers so well. This sale is an excellent way to create sales in the slow summer months for them. If it works for some consumers then it’s a good thing if you are prepared for the already sold out items.

I so appreciate the enormous amount of time you put into finding the items that you felt were the most worthwhile, Cindy, you are such a good sport.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

I love Nordstrom. Unfotunately, we do not have one close at all (3hrs). I think it has taken so long for us to have summer here it is hard to think about winter. We will all wish we did once everything goes back to full price!!

When I worked at Nordstrom way back in the day it was all made for the SALE!
The brand names cut a deal as they buy so much.It did bring PEOPLE INTO THE STORE HOWEVER!
Funny thing I was never INTERESTED IN IT!
I suppose because I had a 50 percent discount already! And you couldnot use together!!!Good thing as ALL MY DOLLARS WOULD HAVE GONE RIGHT BACK IN😆

  7. Donna Ratinoff says

Cindy, A little trick I learned —since we are on the West Coast, we can go online at 9:01PM instead of midnight to order from our wishlist! For some reason the ordering online is based on Eastern Standard Time! I’ m Ambassador level and still found some things gone already.

  8. Vicky says

The Nordies Anniversary sale has become an exercise in frustration. I carefully craft my wish list, sign on at the appropriate time and boom, nothing available. I had a good chuckle walking down the hallway to bed last night after my big score of….socks!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Vicky

That is hilarious! They do restock some items, so save your list!

  9. Bette says

    >>I have to tell you scouring that Nordstrom website is exhausting.

LOL. I’m with you. Between routinely shopping on Etsy and eBay, plus keeping wish lists at major department stores that regularly offer discounts, I have zero need to shop at Nordstrom during the overhyped chaos. I do think the Anniv Sale will be used in B school textbooks a century from now, under the heading “most successful marketing campaign” and “how to manufacture consumer desire.”

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Bette

I love that we have a large retailer that still cares about customer service. So many have gone by the wayside. Interesting thought!

  10. Gray says

I’m with you too Cindy – I never find anything on my wish list or needs list on these sales. And I’m not going to buy something just because it’s on sale. But this is an excellent list to consider and you did yeoman’s work putting this together. Well done and thank you!!!
PS – we used to sell Pom Pom and Barefoot Dreams at the store. 😉

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Gray

I love pom pom and barefoot dreams. They are both unique and have wonderful products!

  11. Karen B. says

    Cindy,
I love some of the sale clothes but it’s too hot for me to imagine ever wearing another sweater. Haha.
Still, I love your style and taste in clothing and outfits, so thank you for the leads.
    Karen B.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Karen

Yes it is finally summer! I think it has taken so long this year it is hard to think about anything winter!

  12. Elizabeth@pineconesandacorns says

    Cindy,
I am with you, I tend to bargain shop all year long. But I have purchased a few things from Nordstrom during the sales and I typically gravitate to the Fall/winter cosy cashmere sweaters and throws.
As for pjs, yes! When did they start selling each piece separate for over $100 a piece?
I love the workout wear from TJMaxx and Marshalls they have great prices and pieces.
    Have a wonderful week Cindy!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Eliz

Yes what the heck is the deal with PJ’s? Why are they so darn expensive? I need to check out TJ for workout wear! Great tip! We actually have one here. My husband scored some golf gear yesterday!
