Roses in the garden and a Garden Party

Heather from stylemindchic.com and Jennifer from awellstyledlife.com is sponsoring a #stylefocus event where we were asked to showcase our own personal style or what inspires us with a post from the past.  My garden always inspires me.  Enjoy and be sure to stop by and see Heather and Jennifer for tons of inspiration!! Spring came late to my garden on the Central Coast this year but some of my favorites are in full flush. Let’s take a look at Roses in the garden and a garden party.

Golden Celebration one of my absolute favorite David Austin Roses.  She never fails to shine! Even in the rain.

Nepeta (catmint) is my go to border plant.  It blooms, you whack it back and within a couple weeks it blooms again all year long in my garden.  That is Pegasus (another David Austin) peaking out above.

Nepeta in my front yard framing an obelisk made by our wonderful friend and craftsman Jim.  He made me two for my birthday last year.  How lucky am I?!!

The Antique Rose Glory de Dijon never disappoints

David Austin Molineux with lantana in the background. Can you tell I am partial to yellow and peach roses?  I have a few pinks left in my yard but I  my favorites are the amber, egg yolky yellows.
Last weekend we hosted a benefit dinner for a local charity with some friends.  My friend and florist extraordinaire (Roxanne Storm) crafted this fabulous bouquet with roses from my garden.  If you need something special for a party or help with a wedding shoot me an email and I will get you in contact with her.

Here is a couple of shots of the fabulous centerpiece that Roxanne created for the table with flowers and herbs from my garden and a few Salinas Valley vegetables added as well.

Here is another shot of both arrangements with the chefs (aka the two geezers) readying the barbeque in the background.

And finally …candles lit, fire roaring…the party is on!

Well, I am just basking in garden heaven right now. Cindy, this is truly spectacular and ever so breathtaking from the view, to the table setting to your rose garden and those amazing center pieces. I spend many many hours in my garden, it's the best form of therapy I know. I actually just planted some new catnip yesterday right in with my roses, so thrilled to see what lovely views they will bring.
Your arrangements are ever so delightful, love the use of adding vegetables in the mix, especially the lovely artichoke. Thank you for sharing this lovely post with us.

    Hi Cindy,
Popping over from the Linkup, and wanted to say hello. These roses are beauties, you must love when your favourites come into bloom. I am waiting now for my peony to bloom, another couple of weeks I think. It's funny how it becomes personal in a way, gardens can have their own kind of story. Thanks for sharing your beautiful views with us. xx Nancy

Just picture perfect Cindy! Your roses are glorious and I love the peachy tones as well…ahhh to live in sunny California! Today we have frost on the ground, and everything in my garden is still brown….a bit of green poking through….hostas and peonies are about an inch out of the ground! Warmer, seasonal temps promised this week…N.xo

Your garden is GORGEOUS!!! I love your obelisk….cool design and very unusual. I might have to copy Jim's design 🙂
And, your nepetas are really good looking. Mine go flat after a rain storm. What a perfect garden party, Cindy!
