Along the Garden Path…with Beau

I thought it would be fun to travel along the garden path with Beau and experience it through his eyes. Take it away Beau.

along the garden path with beau

I spend most of my time in the front garden now that Carlos whacked “buzzed” everything back in the rose garden.  It was nice when it was in full bloom … I could hide my toys in the fountain … chase the cats….

Orangeman thinks if he hides behind the plants I won’t see him….I like to humor him….he is getting on in years…so I don’t “always” chase him…

image

Now I spend most of my time here chasing the quail or searching for “Orangeman’s” hiding spots.  He doesn’t like me for some reason.

image

Sometimes he doesn’t hide very well…He thinks I won’t be able to find him….He is banking I will give up…not a chance…

image

We can follow this path to the front garden. I might find some deer to chase, or better yet I might find Orangeman…

image

Sometimes he hides on top of the wood pile behind the herb garden …

image

I  see him up there.  He thinks he is invisible. I need a little swim….I will take care of him later.

image

I have water toys but I prefer wood from the fireplace.  It is an important component of my regular diet.

image

Here we are out front.  Orangeman is probably still” sunning” on the woodpile dreaming of mice and snakes.

image

I am getting a little warm.  I am considering a dip in the fountain.  There might be some stupid birds there to chase as well.

image  image

This garden tour is exhausting.  I need a drink…. Water from the birdbath is my favorite afternoon cocktail.  Hey it’s five o’clock somewhere, right?

image

I bet Orangeman is following us…he is kind of dumb about that. See…what did I tell you…. he is creeping along under the arbor over there.  He pretends he doesn’t like me.  I know he can’t resist my charm.

image   image

If he took a bath (or a swim) every once in a while he wouldn’t look so ragged.  He would “sparkle” like me…

image I give up on Orangeman.  He is hopeless…time for a nap…I hope you enjoyed my garden tour.  I guess I should give Orangeman second billing.

You might enjoy a few of my mom’s garden posts as well even though they are not nearly as interesting as my tour “Along the garden path with Beau”

Cindy, you've stolen my heart with this one. The garden is heavenly, and I know just how long it takes and how much work. But, those animals! Especially the doggie. Give him a big hug for me. I'm surrounded my my own as I type this. xx's

Cindy – what a gorgeous garden you have! I mean, what a beautiful playground for your animals. 🙂 I'm surprised it has faired so well with a dog – ours tramples most of our yard but I love her anyway. 🙂

Cindy…that's it, I am moving to California! Can I have Beau and Orangeman too? If you find a strange woman wandering your gardens…looking to set up camp, that's me! Too fabulous for words…just that I love it all. 🙂
Best wishes for a lovely weekend…

PS..Orangeman? Do I want to ask? So sweet. 🙂

What a delightful post! I loved Beau's dialogue – it made me laugh out loud – absolutely priceless, and I can really imagine him having all of those thoughts – brilliantly captured!

On another note, your garden is simply stunning – thanks so much to Beau for showing us around!!!

Lovely to have discovered you through Tone on Tone blog – am now following and look forward to coming back for more.
