Happy Sunday everyone. It is hotter than you know what here. The evenings have been beautiful but it has been over 100 the last few days. Today as always I am joining Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites. Let’s take a look at Six Things Dad Will Love for Father’s Day and much more.
OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
What’s better or as good as linen? Gauze . J Jill, Eileen Fisher, J Crew, Michael Stars, and more have great offerings. Gauze is cool, comfy, and does not need ironing in my opinion. I love the color of this J Crew Gauze shirt, and love it paired with white jeans and raffia accessories.

BARROW BUILDING GROUP ON INSTAGRAM
I Don’t know how I stumbled across Barrow Building Groupon Instagram, but I did. I love Charleston and love their style. I think you might as well. Let me know what you think. Byron and Susie Barrow are a husband and wife builder/decorator team. They are headquartered on Sullivan’s Island. You might enjoy following them on Instagram here or check out their website here.
INA GARTEN’S FRESH CORN SALAD
I Love corn salad in the summer, and this simple but delicious corn salad from Ina Garten is on regular rotation at our house.
STEVE’S FATHER’S DAY FAVORITES
Now that we live in a much warmer climate, Steve can’t leave the house without a hat. He has a small head so this one (on sale) from Banana fits the bill. He loves these short sleeve linen shirts from J Crew. Most of his swim trunks are ready for the garbage can J Crew has some great looking ones and they are on sale. The Yeti Wine Tumblers are gig hits at our home in the Paso heat. If your husband lives in flip flops (Steve does) and you want him to take them up a notch, you will love these from Olukai. They are comfortable and good looking. Who doesn’t need a new pair of Ray Ban’s?

TRAVEL AND LEISURE 16 OF THE BEST SMALL TOWNS IN AMERICA
Travel and Leiaure’s 16 of the best small towns in America. What do you think? I have actually been to many on this list and love them. Do you have a favorite small town? If so please share. I was happy to see Carmel on the list.
That’s it for me this week. Thanks for reading Six Things Dad Will Love for Father’s Day. I bet Annie and Mary Ann have some fun picks. We hung a lot of pictures and put more stuff away. The pile is getting smaller in the garage. If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t please do!) you saw my absolutely fabulous dinner last night at one of our favorites IL Cortile. It was nice to have a break from unpacking. As always, if you missed any of my Sunday faves you can find them here. Now pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann for more Sunday fun.

Cindy, love the Father’s Day gift ideas, useful, practical and stylish. And the outfit, so classic! Happy to hear the move/packing/decorating is going so well. It looks beautiful from the photos you have shared. I love seeing how you repurpose your furniture in different rooms.
Have a wonderful week, Elizabeth

Cindy,
Before my husband passed, we used to visit Carmel every chance we had. It is still one of my favorite spots in California. It will be a slight adjustment this summer for you and your husband, but it will be worth having a few weeks of heat to live in the gorgeous area you are residing in. You and Steve will have to make more pool time. 🙂
As always, your post is informative and choke full of pretties.

Hi Karen
We definitely will make more pool time as soon as we get everything organized. It is getting better. Only the garage and den (with no furniture but boxes are disaster areas now)

Cindy Love the outfit! I’m a huge fan of gauze tops. Love the blue also. Some good Father’s Day gifts here. I think my guys would love any of these..I laughed Max’s trunks are needing to be trashed too…I love these. I’m thinking of this hat for my dad. Do you know if it runs big?? Anyway, I’ll look at the reviews. Love hats on guys..

Hi Kim
I am all about gauze and linen in the summer, especially since we have moved here. What is it with men and t-shirts and trunks. They think the older they are the better?
Juliet says
All of my favorite things in one post! Yes, to gauze … and the entire outfit. Corn salad … I can’t get enough. Borrow Building Group … where have you been all my life! That hallway console table (and lamps) are perfect … and they’d work so well in my house. I need to investigate further. Great Father’s Day choices … Jim would love all this stuff. Happy you’re making unpacking progress and getting out for fun breaks. Absolutely essential to ones sanity. Happy week! xo

Hi Juliet
You are so kind. I hope Jim will be getting wonderful goodies for Father’s Day. I am sure he will! So glad you agree about taking breaks during unpacking…I can get distracted!!

On our first visit to Sedona, we stayed at a charming inn called The Briar Patch, situated next to the roiling Oak Creek. Just the right mix of rustic, but upscale. Wanting to get the Red Rock vibe, we also went to Enchantment Resort, set back in a glorious box canyon. Having dinner on the outside terrace over looking the giant red rocks, we lamented to our server that the view would be gone once the sun set. He winked and said “The shows just starting”. We were puzzled until this giant moon rose over the rocks and all the stars came out. It was magic!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Robbie
We visited Sedona a few years ago and enjoyed it as well!

My husband and I were in Paso Robles 2 years ago in August. It was around 114 degrees for the whole 4 days we were there. (we were told by locals that was unusual for them) Because of Covid you had to do wine tasting outside. Needless to say we did not visit too many wineries and two days during our visit we drove to the coast. On top of that there were wildfires not too close by but the smoke was so bad by the last day we were ready to go home. Next time we will go earlier in the Summer!
Carmel is hands down my favorite town to visit.
Linda

Hi Linda
Paso in August can be killer! We feel lucky to have lived near Carmel for so many years. It can be freezing in the summer!

Happy Sunday! Just what I was looking for, swim shorts for the Hubs! Thank you, Cindy! Have a great week.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Holly
So happy to help with your shopping! I thought they had some great ones and at great prices!

What a coincidence that you mentioned the Barrow Building group. We are currently driving home to PA after a week in the Isle of Palms outside of Charleston. We had dinner last night on Sullivan’s Island and hope to spend more time there in the future. The homes are just stunning!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Barb
I know the Isle of Palms. How fun! I am so glad you enjoyed it!
