Resort Wear for Women Over 60: Chic, Effortless Vacation Looks You’ll Actually Wear
Every spring, I get the urge to to head off to a sun-drenched destination. If you’re heading to Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, or simply dreaming from your couch in March (like me), finding the right resort wear for women over 60 can be a challenge. I’ve been dressing for warm-weather travel for decades and I live in an area that gets quite hot in the summer. I know what works, what rolls up beautifully in a carry-on, and what you’ll reach for every single morning on vacation. This post is a curated edit of my absolute favorite resort looks, outfits I already own, brands I return to year after year, and styling tips that are specific to our bodies and our stage of life. Let’s chat about resort wear for women over 60: chic effortless vacation looks you’ll actually wear.
This post was originally published in March 2023 and has been updated with fresh picks and new outfit ideas for 2026.
Why Resort Dressing Is Different After 60 (And Why That’s a Good Thing)
Here’s what I’ve come to appreciate: resort dressing after 60 is actually easier than it was at 30. I know you may not believe me. We know our bodies. We know our style. We’re not chasing trends. Instead we are curating looks that feel like us even in 85+ heat!
For me, that means a few non-negotiables:
- I prefer natural fabrics — linen, cotton, and lightweight gauze. Synthetics in the heat are simply not worth it.
- Loose, flowing silhouettes that move and don’t cling in the wrong places.
- A cohesive color palette so everything packs into a carry-on and mixes effortlessly.
- Accessories that do the heavy lifting — a great straw hat, a statement necklace, the right sandal.
- Minimal pieces with maximum versatility. I refuse to check a bag (although my upcoming trip to France might change that).
Try to keep those five principles in mind as you shop, and you hopefully won’t pack the wrong thing again.
The Best Resort Wear for Women Over 50: My Favorite Looks

1. The Linen Wide-Leg Pant
If I could take only one item on every warm-weather trip, it would be a pair of well-cut wide-leg linen pants. You can find them everywhere now. They drape without clinging, and somehow emerge from a suitcase looking intentionally relaxed rather than wrinkled.
Styling note: I paired these Alemais linen pants( similar here) (found on eBay) with a beautiful Lintico purple linen top (use code LINTICOCDY FOR 15% off,), Margaux sandals, and a favorite Janessa Leone bag. The shirt could also be paired with a pair of white linen pants or cropped white jeans. The linen pants woud also look great with a black linen shirt tied at the waist. You’ll look put-together without trying. Earrings here., Sunglasses here.
2. The Black Maxi Dress

A flowy, maxi dress is one of the easiest resort outfits you can put on. Pull it over your head, add sandals and a hat, and you are ready. Throw on some sneakers and you are ready for a day of sightseeing. I paired this Banana Republic dress (no longer available in eyelet) with old Sam Edelman sandals (newer version here) and a Wauu bag from Etsy. These bags add texture or a pop of color to any resort outfit. Bone bangles (similar here)
3. The Matching Set — Versatile and Simple

I’ve become completely obsessed with the matching set trend , and here’s why: it looks like you made an effort, but it requires absolutely none. You can wear the pieces together as a set, or split them across your trip to create multiple completely different outfits. You might want to check out my Matching Set Shop on ShopMy. I have my eye on a few new ones!
Two of my favorites this season: the Johnny Was ruffled sleeve shirt and linen cropped pant, styled with old laid back london sandals similar here.and Helen Kaminski hat. The second set from Lintico the beautiful cutwork pant and linen oversized popover shirt (use code LINTICOCDY FOR 15% off,). All four of these pieces could be intermixed. The scarf is from Gerard Darel (found on eBay).

This is my favorite matching set from last year. Luckily Banana Republic brought it back this year in navy. I love it so much I am tempted to order it in navy! Top here, pants here, Eileen Fisher sandals here, bag from Etsy here.
4. The Kaftan / Kimono-Style Cover-Up

A kaftan is one of the most flattering, versatile pieces in resort dressing. It works as a swimsuit cover-up, a lightweight dress for lunch or cocktails, or as a duster over a column of white as I have featured here. The key is to choose one in a print or color that you are crazy about, because you will reach for it constantly. The black eyelet coverup from Lands End could be dressed up and worn for a casual lunch with sandals. Here I styled it with a stetson hat, and Janessa Leone bag. I found this beautiful Alemais kaftan on one of the resale sites. It is an investment but very unique. I paired it with the linen pants from Lintico and my favorite tee from Michael Stars.
5. The Linen Jacket — The Piece That Ties Everything Together

This Tommy Bahama linen jacket, has changed the way I pack. It has the casual, easy energy of a denim jacket but is made in a lightweight linen that is genuinely appropriate for warm climates. I paired it here with similar linen pants, artemis design co slippers, and a similar linen shirt here.It works over a maxi dress, over a pair of wide-leg pants, or over a romper on a breezy evening. I shared it in Tuesday’s post on Best Effortless Spring Jackets for Women Over 60 with Kim.
I wear a medium. It comes in several beautiful colors , I own three. Kim originally inspired me to buy it, and I’ve since worn it on multiple trips. If you’re only going to invest in one new layering piece this season, make it this one.
6. The Maxi Skirt-a longtime fave
📷 Alt text: Sézane embroidered dress and companion shirt paired with Mersea sonnet skirt — resort style women over 50

If you have been reading this blog long you know I am a long time devotee of the Lily Skirt from CP Shades. They sadly have closed their doors but there are still many available on eBay here, and Poshmark here. I also found a similar one on Etsy for a great price. I wear them with a linen shirt tied at the waist, a tee for a casual look, or dressed up as a matching set. I own this skirt in several shades and enjoy them all summer.
Resort Accessories: The Details That Elevate Every Outfit
Hats
A great straw hat is non-negotiable for resort dressing. It protects your skin, it elevates a simple outfit instantly, and it photographs beautifully. I wear a Helen Kaminski raffia hat (in both natural and black — yes, I own two), and a Janessa Leone for more casual looks. Hat Attack offers beautiful options at a lower price point.
You can find all of my favorite straw hats here.
Sandals
Comfort is non-negotiable on vacation, and I’ve finally made peace with that. My favorites: Artemis Design Co. slip-ons for casual days, Dolce Vita raffia sandals for a slightly dressier look, and Camper sandals when I know I’ll be walking. All three are genuinely comfortable. All three look good enough to photograph.
You can find all of my favorite summer shoes and sandals here.
Bags
A straw or rattan bag in a natural or warm tone will work with every outfit in a sun-soaked wardrobe. Mar Y Sol makes beautiful ones; Hat Attack has excellent options at a more accessible price. Keep it simple — one great bag does everything.
Find all of my favorite Spring/Summer bags here.
Jewelry
I’m partial to Native American jewelry and statement necklaces in warm metals — turquoise, coral, and amber-toned stones look stunning with a neutral linen palette. The rule I follow: the simpler the outfit, the more interesting the jewelry can be. Let one piece sing.
You can find my Spring/Summer Bespoke Jewelry Collection here.
How to Pack Resort Wear in a Carry-On (Without Sacrificing Style)
I’ve done this many times, and I’ve written about it in detail in my post How to Rock an Over 50 Travel Wardrobe in Hawaii — but the summary version:
- Choose a cohesive palette of 3 neutrals + 1 accent color. Everything mixes with everything.
- Pack linen and gauze — both can be worn slightly rumpled and look intentional.
- Choose pieces that work in multiple contexts: the kaftan as a cover-up and a dress; the linen jacket over dresses and pants.
- Limit yourself to two pairs of sandals (one casual, one slightly dressier). One hat.
- Roll, don’t fold. Linen survives rolling beautifully.
Ten pieces, twelve outfits minimum. That’s the goal.
FAQ: Resort Wear for Women Over 50
What should a 50-year-old woman wear on vacation?
Lightweight natural fabrics (linen, cotton, gauze) in a cohesive color palette, with versatile silhouettes that can be dressed up or down. Wide-leg pants, wrap dresses, matching sets, and breezy maxi dresses are all excellent choices. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident — not that you follow any particular rule.
Final Thoughts: Great Style Has No Expiration Date
Resort wear for women over 60 isn’t about hiding anything or working around limitations, it’s about choosing pieces that celebrate who you are right now. Lightweight fabrics that breathe in the heat. Silhouettes that move beautifully. Colors that make you feel alive. Sandals that you can walk in comfortably. You’ve spent decades learning what looks and feels right on your body. Take that knowledge to the beach. I apologize for the late post. I had posting issues. I would love to hear if you are headed off on a sunny escape.
If you found this post helpful, I’d love it if you shared it with a friend who’s planning a warm-weather trip. And if you have a resort wear question I haven’t answered here, drop it in the comments I so value your input!

Beautiful, I love the way you dress
Hi Clara
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much C
I just decided to buy the navy embroidered pants after seeing them on you. I didn’t get the top since it looks a little short and I’m not sure I want that.
The one thing I noticed that you didn’t mention fitting into your carry-on was a swim suit! Haha, maybe there aren’t many of us of an “age certain” who really enjoy wearing one! I will but I won’t flaunt myself, that’s for sure!
Hi Wren
That is another post and a challenging one!!
Cindy,
I always look forward to your fashion tips. How do I find Shop My Matching Set Shop?
Hi Cheryl
Shoot did the link not work. Here you go I will fix it

Absolutely gorgeous outfits! Love the crisp linen and colors. Your setting is very peaceful and calming…I need to get out of the city for awhile and have some Zen space around me!
Dear Cindy. As always – thank you for the inspiration! Reminders that I have similar pieces in my closet! You are a role model for us – staying healthy, full of joy and stylish! 🥰
Hi Anna
I haven’t heard from you in awhile so glad you are back!!
This was a fun one. Loved the fashion.
Thanks Linda
I was a little heavy on fashion this week but next week there will be none! We have an interview with a yoga instructor on Tuesday and spring decor ideas on Thursday!! Thanks for being patient!!
Hi Cindy,
LOOOOOOVE your blog! Have been a subscriber for a long time.
I have a problem with the “comstylish” products. There are so many of these ads on your posts, I fell for the hype. What a disappointment. The colors are lovely, and so are the prints. The fabric is awful and the sizes are inconsistent.
Just thought you should know as there are at least three ads for this product on this post alone.
Georgia
Hi Georgia
Believe it or not the ads serve you what they think you like according to what you click on. If I go to another site they serve me ads based on what they think I am looking for or what I have clicked on before. Just don’t click on them. I have no control over my ads. They serve my readers what they think you might want. I have contacted my ad network for a revamp. I hope that helps
Love ALL these outfits! Heading to Sedona next week from Colorado. Looking forward to the heat. Too late to order the Tommy Bahama jacket for this trip, but may do it for next trip. Always look forward to your posts😊

Love your post & agree with all the hints. And yes, you can go to France without checking a bag. I have made 9 trips, 2 wks each, with a rolling carry on that fits in the overhead. We travel in the fall, but I stick to neutrals & one accent color and carefully choose the pieces to mix for variety. You can do it & still look chic!
Hi Janet
I am hoping to! The weather is so unpredictable this time of year so it is a challenge. I remember going to Italy (where they had just had snow)…took boots etc. , and ended up wearing my flip flops all over Italy because the weather was beautiul-and it was the end of March-
We need resort clothes in California the past few days……
I did read France, though, and everything else paled.
Fun! You and Steve? Where in France are you going? fun fun fun – would love to hear more
Hi Dianne
We do!! Steve and I will be in Paris for three days, then will spend most of our time in Provence and Burgundy. It was a last minute trip so it should be interesting!
Cindy!
You look absolutely gorgeous in all of these outfits with the Sally Phillips being my favorite. Highlighting your waist, keeping neutral accessories at a minimum while letting the white carry the outfit, highlights beautiful YOU! Also, am I correct that your hair is a bit shorter? Either way, it is a perfect length for warmer days ahead.
I’m ready to splurge on a pair of Artemis slippers. How did you choose the correct sizing?
Enjoy every moment of your Florida time with Mary Ann and company.
Love from Mercer Island,
Diney
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for all the terrific warm weather ideas… you look fabulous! I especially love that J Crew Cabana dress, and ordered one. 😎
That Sally Phillips peony set! As always with Sally Phillips, stunning.
I notice a lot of folk talking about swimwear. I adore swimming and have seven (don’t judge me) one-pieces. Because I love swimming so much, I have no qualms at all about fronting up on the beach to swim, despite the sags, dimples and creases. My friends of between 70 and 80+ are the same.
All bar one of my suits are La Blanca which I buy online. I discovered that the US 10 fits me really well and they offer the most fabulous colour ways and styles. I’m 73, 5’3” and weigh 58 kgs. I’m also a 14 DD if that helps anyone.
Hi Cindy,
I love your style, especially when it comes to our mutual love of linen. Although I can usually overlook the wrinkles, there are times when it just doesn’t work. Wrinkle Boss (by Clean Boss) to the rescue. I had high hopes that it would perform as promised and I wasn’t disappointed! It really does remove the wrinkles. No more dragging out the steamer or iron.
Thanks for the tips and inspiration.
Hi Shelly
Oh my gosh I am heading over to find Wrinkle Boss! Thanks for the tip!
Can you please send me the link to that J Crew swimsuit. I must of missed it. Thank you
So much information, I really needed this post
Hi Cindy.
Fabulous looks thank you for the inspiration. Those Sézane pieces are just fantastic on you! I love all your choices !! Have a gorgeous weekend, l am hoping for more rain here in California we sure need it.
Hi Francesca
Sezane really has some interesting looks right now. Trouble!!
HI Cindy, Love all these looks! You are beautiful in that black outfit- and the white one from Sally Phillips. I also adore the BR look. The Sezane pieces are cool too. You always have a knack for finding unique things and with your styling it all looks fantastic! You have inspired me to get a few more matching sets. I love them on you. Very chic.. So fun dong this with you.
Have the best time with Mary Ann in Florida! x
Hi Kim
I really am loving the matching sets for their versatility! Since I have short legs, that look tends to be lengthening for me!
Cindy, I love your style first of all. Could you tell me how you tied the white mersea linen wrap? Love that look with the wide leg pant.
I did a tutorial on Instagram. If you send me your email at cynthiahattersley@gmail.com I will send it to you Lori!
Hi Cindy – I’m new to Bryn Walker – thanks for the rec’s ! Here in the mid-Atlantic, the humid, schvitz-inducing weather begins around mid-April. I just can’t handle anything BUT linen and dresses. I love all these ideas!
Love the Mersea linen wrap—is there a tutorial for the different ways you have styled it??
Hi Eli
Well maybe I should do one!!
Hi Eli
That wrap is so versatile in my humble opinion, you can tie it on the side, in the front, throw it over one shoulder…the possibilities are endless!
Having a coffee ☕️ watching YVR wake up from a 6th floor room at the Fairmont Airport .
I love this hotel in Vancouver… fabulous views of the mountains and busy airport, and shortly the sunrise 🌅 , but so soundproof. Absolutely wonderful to fall into bed after arriving from
St Lucia at 3:30 am 😵💫 Caribbean time . Best beds and luxurious pillows…and awards for top airport hotel in North America.
Like you, Cindy, I embrace linens for the heat. Soon will take ferry home from week long PONANT cruise … Barbados to St Lucia with only 123 guests .👍. I took along sleeveless tops and one print tunic ( all White Stuff from UK) and coordinating pants ( L.L.BEAN years ago) , and a little spray bottle that I fill with water to ease out the wrinkles overnight. Smooth down wrinkles and hang up. Works so well! Learned that from a contributor recently…. sharing of ideas is so helpful. Linen is not for flight travel, but otherwise just the thing for tropical weather.
I learned not to pack my colourful chunky ( heavier) necklaces due to weight , but couldn’t help just one! Really like seeing how you use your collection to advantage to accessorize your outfits.
Although I am pretty pleased with my toning up from Reformer Pilates and eating more salads and soups pre holiday, I have always been aware of my less than gorgeous thighs… but I am a keen swimmer and also found opportunities to do my energetic deep water workout . May not be the best legs , but they sure work hard for me. If others don’t like the view, then avert your eyes!
At almost 73, I have learned to enjoy my good health… and accept the road map of veins and cellulite … which I’ve had since my teens. 😬
PS should mention that this was to be the Caribbean PONANT cruise in March 2020… we were actually in Martinique seeing our beautiful small ship in the bay on the 12th! 🦠😷 But… after three tries we finally were able to enjoy it , and so worth the wait.
Hi Cath
I love that…if others don’t like the view…avert your eyes. I have lived that mantra my entire life due to my burns. Wise words…
You look so great in all your looks and your hats too! Love that jacket and of course your wraps. Of course I’m sitting here in fur lined slippers wrapped in a blanket, but spring is just around the corner. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Ha! It has been dark dreary and cold here too Barb! Very unusual for this tie of year!
You look beautiful in all your resort wear in all honesty, I really don’t like summer clothes. I don’t wear sleeveless looks nor anything that shows leg skin and for swimming I’ve been wearing the same long sleeve scuba suit for the last 4 years. My husband says I look like a Muslim during summer and I don’t disagree. .
Ha! I do wear linen but almost everything has sleeves. Linen and light cotton do not need to be sleeveless to be cool, just loose!
Perfectly timed post, Cindy. You and Kim are offering up all kinds of ideas and inspiration for my upcoming trip to Mexico. It’s been a long long time since I’ve been on real vacation, I forget how its done. I’m loving the lightweight, flowing pants, skirts and dresses you’re sharing here. As for bathing suits, your attitude is great and I need to adopt it. Truth be told the reason I haven’t been on a sunny vacation is because I feel terrible about how I look in a suit. I know at my age I should be beyond it, but I’m not. And there is no suit in the world that addresses my biggest problem area, my legs.. Unless the 1920’s bath costume comes back in vogue. Sigh. Hope Steve progresses from the scooter soon, but no need for you too to jet off anywhere … you live in a resort paradise! xo
Oh, to be as stylish as you are! Wow! I love this post and all your looks. I’ve been catching up and checking out all of your other links from this post. Amazing. I’m curious if you’ve ever said how tall you are? If so I missed it.
I’m 5’1″ (now), used to be 5’2″, and as much as I like your looks, those wide leg pants may not be something, as a petite, that I can pull off. Thanks Cindy!
Hi Nancy
Aren’t you sweet! I am 5’4, but very long waisted. All my height is on the top! I always wear a “cropped” look so they aren’t so long on me. I think you could pull it off.
Although not Hawaii or Mexico, I’m about to go someplace that will be very hot and humid so these looks are perfect timing. I’m waiting for a long linen tunic that I ordered but the Gap linen shirt looks great also at a much lower price. I’ve walked by Maison Marianne a million times but the fashions she has in her windows don’t attract me to go inside (sorry to sound offensive). The styles that you wear look great on you, I just don’t think things that unstructured aren’t for me. I do have that Tommy Bahama jacket in white and will be taking it on this trip for evenings in AC when I’m wearing sleeveless. Now if we could just get some warmer weather here on the Central Coast!
Sorry for the bad sentence structure above. I can’t go in and correct. 🫤
BRYN Walker in SLO!
How FABULOUS IS THAT!
I WAS ON THEIR SITE THE OTHER DAY FOR THE NEW SPRING COLLECTION BITS!
I can wear size medium to an extra large now!
I adore their heavy linen which would be too hot for your area!
That’s a really good photo of the two of us💕
Xxx
Hello Eliz
You are the one that turned me on to Bryn Walker. You would love Marianne’s little shop in SLO. She has great stuff. Yes that photo is a keeper!!
Cindy, You look so great in the Tommy jacket! Love this post and I especially adore the white skirt and dress and how you pull the wraps over things and make everything look chic! If people can just get your gorgeous basic pieces they really need nothing else to be comfy and stylish on holiday. So fun doing this. Now can we just get some sun?
xo
Ha!! Sun we could use! Your post was packed with great tips and so many good pieces! I am all about the accessories. People probably think I am boring!!
I love this. Like the others asking, how tall are you? You look great in the wide leg look but I do not. , I just look frumpy in them. What is the height requirement to look good in either wide legged pants or long skirts? I wish I could pull it off as you look so cute in them. I’m tired of skinny style slacks, so could you do a post on some of your favorite non skinny style jeans? I find it so hard to find a straighter jean that is flattering (and non flared/bell boot leg, or skinny jean, or wide leg) that looks good on a slim 5’3” frame.
Such a fantastic post thank you Cindy for all the looks and ideas. I bought that Tommy Bahama jacket last year after Kim’s suggestion and it is such a winner. We are going on a vacation this summer so l have so many ideas here to look at. I think l will have have to get those linen pants you fweature they look perfect! Happy weekend:)
Hi Francesca
I kept eyeing that jqcket and was afraid it would be too short on me. When I saw Kim in it I knew I could wear it! Tempted to get it in other colors it is so great!!
Every time you mention the Lily skirt, I forget to ask what size you purchase. We are of similar build and they look fantastic on you. Here’s hoping I can pull it off, too!
Hi Lisa
I replied but think it disappeared! I wear an XS. I can wear a small as well but I really prefer the XS.
Cindy I’m so glad you found a swimsuit that you feel good in. Every woman of a certain age deserves to participate in life at the beach or pool! We shall NOT be sidelined to the margins while everyone else has all the fun!! La Blanca is also a good brand to look at, their one pieces and tankinis don’t sacrifice style for coverage.I believe they come in torso options too. Robin Piccone looks super cute too if you ever come across it. Love you and your amazing work here. K
Well hello Ms Karen!!
I find those La Playa suits to be too high cut for me. Maybe I need to take another look because I love the look of them! I will take a look at Robin Piccone as well. You always look drop dead gorgeous!
Love your linen looks – I am a fan too, but I don’t like how it wrinkles so badly.
Enter CP Shades!! I plan to buy 2 skirts and 2 pants from them. The lightweight wrinkled look works for me. Thanks for another great post Cindy! You always look darling.
Hi Gray
I love linen that is meant to be worn wrinkled. You would love those Aunti Oti shirts too!
I love these looks and want to order that hat!!
I do love my straw hats!!
I love how you make an outfit unique to your style and personality. When I see an ad or a design, I struggle to think outside the box. But, you have great style!
Cindy! You look fabulous in each look! You look amazing in red! And your hair get s more beautiful!!
Love it all! Can you share a link for the darling black clutch?
Love it all! Do you have a link for the darling black clutch?
Really enjoy all of your posts! I have a question regarding the blouses that you are tying at the waist. Did you tuck in the back of the blouse or are you gathering the back up when you make the tie at the front?
Thank you for all your posts!!
Hi Frances
Great question! I just sort of roll it under in the back and then tie it in the front. I am glad you asked. I just do it sort of subconsciously! Thanks so much for reading!
Cindy I forgot to say I am crazy about all those Mango pieces! Some fab finds there right? My new go-to for cool things at good prices. xo
Hi Kim
Yes! So far things fit too. I find Zara and some of the others are so undependable as far as fit goes. I am a big fan so far.
Cindy I love your post! It’s wonderful all your looks have the accessories and everything you need.. That last dress is so good both ways, but I love the strapless look on you. The Farm Rio pants are fun and modern. I love their things. Still, you really make me want the skirt and the leopard swimsuit.. very classic and chic! I knew you’d have a lot of beautiful things on your post and you have a gift with styling. I am loving the house pics too. It sure looks pretty and the front entrance has the Cindy vibe! Thank you for being so patient with me this was a crazy week, but I adore you both and feel honored to do this with you stylish gals. xo Kim
Hi Kim
Your post was wonderful. You always have things I want! I need to call you about that linen jacket. I love it but am worried about the length with my long waist! I have been looking for something just like that! Thanks for joining Sarah and me. We love having you!
You look super in every outfit here, Cindy. You are so stylish!
Hi Karen
You should see the bloopers!
You are such a great help with wardrobes and I find that I’m heartened to try some of the more adventuresome (for me) to try some of the fashion you’ve shared.
Enjoy your vacation to Hawaii. You’ll be the most well-styled woman in the area.
xo,
Karen
Hi Karen
Most of my life is spent in yoga pants but I sure am enjoying wearing decent clothes again!!
You look fabulous on every picture and the outfits are just as beautiful. The Mango palazzos with lavender shirt . I’d never had though of that color combination, but it looks amazing , that’s real talent right there 😉.
Hi Liana
I was told (by an expert) many years ago that I should wear more purple, which of course I never did. Once my hair was gray, I really learned to embrace lavender. It is hard to find most seasons, but this year I am seeing more of it. Those pants fit beautifully and feel expensive. I am very impressed with that brand so far.
Cindy, you are just too funny! I don’t recall how tall you are but do the wide pants look good on someone shorter? Like 5’4″? They sure look comfortable but I don’t need anything that will make me look stout….if you know what I mean. You are funny about wearing a bathing suit, but I feel the same way. Having my last baby at 45 and my first at 39 (emergency C-section)…need I say more? I need to go shopping this week as we are headed to Nantucket soon….Thanks for sharing and thanks for the humor!
Hi Mary
I am 5’4 exactly. I am long-waisted with short legs. All of the wide legs that I have shown are a perfect length except the black and white. They need to be hemmed. They are all so comfortable and freeing I have to tell you!!
EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT!
ESPECIALLY THAT LONG DRESS ON YOU TIED AT THE NECK!
I DIDN’t see any BINGO ARMS!
I’m seeing MORE COLOR IN YOUR WARDROBE!
GOSH if you weren’t a size XS we could shop in each others closets!BUT ALAS I ‘m an extra large………
HAWAII HERE YOU COME!
Hi Elizabeth
I thought maybe I was pushing it with that long dress (the arms!!). I thought it would be great for Hawaii. I find if you wait to long to buy anything for late summer it is all gone, so this post was timely. I am channeling you…trying to add more color!
Wowser! I think you are ready for that vacay! You look incredibly resort or not! Love what you’ve shared in this blog Cindy.
Hi Sarah
You are my styling guru!! Love everything that you do!!
You look stunning in all the outfits you modeled. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I admire how beautiful you are with all your “imperfections”.
Hi Claudia
Thank you so much. I have learned to live with them all and embrace them at this age!!
I love this post BUT, I went to order that darling leopard J Crew swim suit and it’s SOLD OUT. I’m so sad…it is just the cutest. I better get going on ordering a couple other things I love from your post. I suspect when you feature something on here, it doesn’t last long!
Hi Judy
I can’t believe that darn suit sold out! I have been told that it can happen. I once featured something from Madewell (can’t remember what it was). When I walked into the Walnut Creek store the clerk said apparently some blogger featured this and it is sold out. Those shoes from my Sunday post just went immediately. I try not to feature anything unless they have plenty of stock, but sometimes it happens. Keep checking back, I think inventory is very unpredictable these days.
Hi Cindy,
Nice! Everything looks really fun and light for the heat. I wish I had an upcoming tropical vacation to plan and shop for!
Those wide legged pants from Mango are great, sadly out of stock in my size. Oh well. I really don’t need any more of anything.
If it ever warms up here I will start wearing my skirts and linen. Still too blustery and cool.
XO Heidi
Hi Heidi
Hasn’t this been the coolest Spring and early Summer in recent memory? We had better weather at our old house so it is harder for me to compare, but it wasn’t warm there either! Looking forward to seeing you soon. I love coming to your area. Call or email, I am getting settled and could meet for lunch anytime!!
Cindy, you’re my hero. I had to LOL when I read about flexing your “bingo arms” for photos. Thank you for being honest, for being human, and for inspiring us “old dogs” to try some new tricks. You look fabulous, and you make me want to try to do the same.
Hi Sarah
We old dogs have to try new tricks, don’t we? These years are the best of our lives, we need to celebrate them!!
I jumped off from reading you to order the pants from Mango, before I even finished your post. Hope they fit!
Ironically, I’m in the Kona airport waiting to fly to SJ. Our lifestyle means a lot of Hawaii and Mexico so I need clothes for that life. I’ve recently given away a lot of my island wear that I deemed too young for me. You offer encouragement for the halter style-I just decided against a dress while here since it was that style. It was SO gorgeous. I may still try to order.
Thanks for some fun fashions. I think we all have to cut loose with that kind of clothing sometimes and you will look smashing on your trip Im sure. Aloha!
Hi Wren
I know exactly what you are talking about. When Sarah and Kim said resort wear I thought eeeek! Sometimes we have to think outside of the box. It is challenging but we can. Like the good ole Target dress. I still get compliments on that thing every time I wear it. I think the higher neck and the cutaway sleeves, or tie-neck are the trick. They draw your eye up. I am no expert. I have just found through trial and error I can make that work occassionally!
In regard to Mango, if I remember correctly, they have children’s clothing too. I came across a store in a big airport shopping area (Heathrow?) that I think was Mango and they had darling clothes, just for kids. I bought something for my grandson and it’s a thought for your Summer.
P.s. Saw the 2 places for fountains today on the drive home from SJ airport. Will have to investigate when I visit my daughter in Morgan Hill next time. Thanks for the suggestions.
You are so stylish. Love everything you demonstrate. Always looking forward to seeing the decor and fashion. I thank you for that 🥰
Hi RacheLle
Thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoy the blog. I certainly enjoy each and every one of you.
You are your grand daughter Summer’s twin in the lavender linen shirt and paisley pant! Looking great in all outfits, Cindy!
Hi Nan
Do you think so? Poor thing!! She still thinks I am pretty cool. Wait till she gets older and somebody tells her that!!
Trust me- Summer will always think you are cool and beautiful! Grandmother and granddaughter relationships are special. Mine was the kindest, most elegant woman! At any age, I loved hearing how much I resembled her and inherited her style sense.
Please send nothing back because you look fantastic in all of it. Mango is new to me but I will checking that website.
Hi Carol
I am a new fan of Mango. I have yet to get to a store. I honestly didn’t have a clue who or what they were. I know everyone likes a good price point and I like to feature things when I can. So far they get high marks from me, for quality and fit for the price point.
On another note……your hair is gorgeous! Love the pants too!
Hi Sharon
You would look fabulous in those pants!
OMG…DARLING. Everything!! I’ve had my eye on those Farm Rio pants but worried that hemming up would cut off some of the design. I love all the happy colors. Going to have to do some pinning here and shopping 🙂
Hi Mary Ann
Well of course you would look darling in those pants. I think they would be fine hemmed up. They would be great for Spain!
