I was planning to do a Friday Flea this week but time got away from me. I would love to hear from anyone else that is dealing with elder care, it really is all consuming .How are you handling it.? I find I barely get anything accomplished workwise and we have no life outside of work and caring for the elders.
At any rate at the top of my list of Friday Favorites is Joni’s post on Window Coverings here. She updated a previous post that has been one of my go to’s for years.
Love this project by the Uber talented Sherry Hart
On the beauty front Tish Jett always takes the practical route when it comes to beauty products check out her latest pics here. Have any of you tried any of these?
Any of you feel like you need to get organized? I think Karen and I may be close to the same age so this post was near and dear to my heart for more than one reason. Our garages (yes you heard right garages) could be on an episode of the hoarder’s.
And last but not least if you are planning to entertain this weekend why not try these little gems from Smitten Kitchen? Don’t they look yummy?
What have you got planned for the weekend, anything fun?

Oh Gosh Cindy, my garage could give yours a run for the money, I'm sure! I actually had a "Decor Sale" that I advertised on Craig's List a couple of weeks ago and got rid of about a third of all my old decor that was stacking up in my garage! It went well and only took a few hours so it was well worth it. Now I just have to get rid of the rest!
So sorry to hear about your all-consuming issues with your parents. I know it's tough. Hang in there:)
Okay after putting on glasses the other day in the day and taking a gander in the mirror I think I need that Hyaluronic filler for sure! also could you send me that closet pronto! Happy Monday! xo K

Thanks for all the lovely links. I am sorry to hear you are so consumed by elder care – so difficult. I am in the beginning stages of it and I see that it is going to be a long, rocky road! But we have to do what we have to do. xx Sharon

On a more light hearted note…the broccoli melts look like an easy tasty treat. I'm definitely going to try them. Thanks for sharing

Two words of advice: don't be afraid to ask for help and be sure to take care of yourself. It's important to make some time for you in the process. I agree with Sharon, it really is the greatest lesson in life.

I really don't have any advise, as I have not walked that path. However it always helps to reach out to your closest friends and let them know what you are dealing with. Ask for help. Friends would love to bring a meal to you, or stop by for a brief catch up if you can't get out. Forgive yourself if you don't feel your doing your best. Caring for someone may be the greatest lesson in life, you will learn so much about yourself.
Being a caregiver is probably the hardest job you'll ever have! I took care of my Grandmother, Mother and now my Husband and I continue to work full-time. It is overwhelming and I see myself aging before my very eyes. With that said it is also very rewarding and someone once told me I am an answer to his prayers and I'm sure you are as well. Thank you for your creative blog that lets me get away from my real life.

I understand your loss of free time while caring for elderly loved ones. It's going on with two of my closest friends and I worry so for them. You are a dear person to be giving your time, make sure you take care of yourself too. 🙂
Thank you so much for linking to my post this week! We'll get organized someday.
