Fashion Over 50-Khaki & Denim Fall Casual Part 1

I am sorry it has been so long since I have done a fashion post. I have been super busy with my real job and these fashion posts are time consuming. I don’t know about you but I love Khaki and Denim.  I love it even more when there is a little leopard thrown in.  Madewell and J Crew are my go to sources for casual wear.  Their clothes seem to consistently fit me properly.  If I want something interesting or special I head to Artful Home.  I will be posting about their exciting fall collection next month; you are going to love their new collection.
Here on the Central Coast we don’t really have a fall. I really miss that time of year. August, September, and October are our nicest months.  It does cool off in the evenings as the days get shorter so a jacket is sometimes in order. I love this Ruffle Chino Jacket  from J Crew.  It can be worn year round in our climate.  Add my favorite Long Sleeve Shine Crew Tee, from Michael Stars, that is just a little more polished looking than your average tee (a little pricier but much longer wearing) .  Pair them with (the splurge in this group) the Dl1961 Margaux Instasculpt Ankle Skinny Jeans, the inexpensive leopard print scarf from Sole Society, the BP Demi Slide (on sale), and Kate Spade’s Crossbody Bag.

Khaki & Denim One_edited

This Prospect Jacket from Madewell is on my wish list (it’s on sale as well). It is the perfect weight and color to wear with a pair of jeans or black pants.  I tried it on and love the cut. It is way more flattering on than it appears.  It can be cinched in at the waist for a more flattering fit if you prefer. I love these leopard slides from BP (they are on sale too).  I have foot issues and I tried these on in the store and I think they might work as well.  Ever since I saw the chic Brenda Kinsel in a pair like these wide leg crop jeans from Madewell, I have been tempted to pull the trigger. Madewell always has great bags at competitive prices.  I am trying to learn to carry a smaller bag.  I really love this small transport crossbody bag from Madewell but if you are like me you may still need the large crossbody bag. I own this silk bandana (it is on final sale better grab it) from Madewell and love it.  The Always Chambray Shirt from J Crew is a favorite in my closet, and who doesn’t need a new pair of  tortoise shades?
khaki & Denim two (1)_edited
I am going to TRY and get back in the mode of a fashion post once a week as well as a design post.  I will post Part Two of Khaki & Denim next week.  How do you feel about Khaki and Denim?  Do you love the combo as much as I do?  Have a great week!!

    Cindy,
I love this combination. I've ordered the scarf and as soon as it cools off, just a bit, I'll be wearing the denim/khaki combo! I'm so ready for autumn.
