A Charming Collected Cotswold Cottage you Will Love

It is Sunday so I am joining my pals Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites. Spoiler alert I cheated this week. I had my list all completed and then found a couple of articles I couldn’t resist so I went over the five limit. Let’s take a look at my five faves which include a charming collected Cotswold cottage you will love.

Do you read Cafe Design by Eva? This week she featured this charming collected Cotswald Cottage of James Mackie on her blog. I am in love. How about you?

FAVORITE READING FROM KATIE AND ELIZABETH

Two blogs I always try to read are Preppy Empty Nester and Pine Cones and Acorns. I always love Katie’s (Preppy Empty Nester) Reading, Watchiing, Listening posts so I can find out about what I should be watching or reading. Remember I told you I was cheating this week. This week my friend Elizabeth (Pine Cones and Acorns) did a post on Advent Calendars. If you have a grandchild you will want to read this one.

CLOSET COOKING’S ROASTED CAULIFLOWER QUICHE

I am always looking for new egg dishes to try and have on hand over the holidays. I have a variation of this one that is an old standby (even people who don’t like cauliflower-like it). I am adding this one to my list. It is gluten-free and sounds yummy! I am trying this Roasted Cauliflower Quiche from Closet Cooking next weekend. I think my family will love it (maybe even Summer)

GIFT GUIDE FOR HER

(GIFTS SHE ACTUALLY WANTS)

  1. Does anyone besides me thing pajamas are a small fortune? I love the offerings this Etsy Shop has
  2. My favorite Jo Malone Fragrance and #4 on the all time fave list apparently. Is it time to start wearing cologne again?
  3. I love a long puffer vest. They are warmer, and quite frankly they cover the bum as well. I have this one in silver and I would love to get the black (don’t tell my husband he thinks I already have too many)
  4. Cozy Chic Lite is tops for comfort. I have this long version on my list for long days at the computer.
  5. I am going to be all about fresh magnolia this year. If you would like to send a wreath to a friend that will last from Thanksgiving through Christmas this is it. Change out the ribbon and you are good to go.
  6. These are my favorite slippers. Yes you can buy less expensive ones but they don’t last. I am due for a new pair are you?
  7. I know many of you are allergic. This sweater is highly rated on J Crew and on sale!
  8. Most candles are a small fortune these days bu Votivo remains affordable (and they are wonderful). You can afford to buy her one that will last the entire season.
  9. My robe is nearly in shreds. You can’t beat Barefoot Dreams (cozy chic light) for comfort or wearability.

TONGUE IN CHEEK VIA CURBED

Do you read Tongue in Cheek? She had a great post this week about how a group of DC tree buffs took it upon themselves to help rebuild Notre Dame.

We are having a busy next few days. Today we are going to the California International Airshow with our son and daughter-in-law (always fun). All of the contestants have been flying overhead the last couple of days. The cat is petrified and Beau not so impressed either. Tomorrow we are making a quick trip to Paso for the second anniversary shebang of one of our favorite restaurants in Paso Les Petites Canailles, or LPC as the locals call it. Follow me on Instagram for more on that. We will be staying at The Stables, the latest venture from the Gilson family who own the wonderful Hotel Cheval. I will report back on all of that next week in my favorites.

SUMMER LOVES ANIMALS

Sorry I couldn’t resist adding this one. Jenna sent several pictures of Summer at one of her Halloween events. Summer is certainly not a perfect child (even if we think she is) but I have never seen a small child (she will be 3 1/2 next week) that is so kind and gentle with animals. Our crazy cat Furrie even likes her. She has no fear whatsoever.

Thanks for reading A Charming Collected Cotswold Cottage, You Will Love. I will be back on Tuesday with a great group of bloggers with some great Thanksgiving ideas. On Thursday I will put a twist on the Outfit of the Week and have a little fun on an imaginary visit with someone I have great respect for. You can find all of my Sunday Favorites right here.

Let’s pop over and read Mary Ann’s post Spa At Home Indulgences And Beautiful Bathrooms and Annie’s A New Twist on a Fall Dessert Idea

Eva, Katie & Elizabeth … all favorites of mine too. What would I do without them … and you … so share so many wonderful things?! That Cotswolds Cottage is dreamy and I’ve Pinned it to every board I could come up with … and then a few more. Little Summer is so sweet with piggies … being a lover of animals is sign of a truly beautiful heart. Hope you enjoyed your getaway! xo

      Hi Juliet

Thank you for what you said about Summer. She has her moments but you are absolutely right. She is a very loving child.

Cindy, thank you for including me in your weekly post! Although I love all of your post the weekly roundup is always one of my favorites, it is always fun to see what catches your eye. Katie always shares so many fun things and she is so funny. As for this cosy cottage…I am in love. English decor is a favorite of mine because I love the collected look.

    Summer is adorable and perfect!

As for your holiday picks, love the slippers, love the candles and the perfume, who am I kidding I love it all. As the for cost of candles and pjs, outrageous! I love buying candles from Tjmaxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods and honestly some of the best smelling candles I have ever had are from Aldi.
Have a wonderful adventure, looking forward to hearing all about it.

      Hi Elizabeth

You know I always enjoy your posts so much and the effort you put into them. Katy is so entertaining isn’t she? She always makes me smile!

    Hi Cindy,
I love to read Cafe Design by Eva. She always finds the best homes. I’m an anglophile and many of her best posts are of English homes. I agree with your readers above, the Cotswold area along with Bath were two of my favorite locations.
The Etsy pajamas are pretty, but kinda pricey, especially when you add their $29 shipping fee. Still, they look lovely and of excellent quality.
    Summer is so sweet.

      Hi Karen

I am glad you pointed out the $29 shipping fee. I did not notice that. I agree. I enjoy Eva’s posts as well.

Of all our trips to England the Cotswolds are our very favorites! Stayed twice in a wonderful thatched roof cottage that was wonderful. It was in the beautiful village of Stanton St. John — just north of Oxford. J & B

So great to hear from you anglophiles. Well maybe we need to go together and you can be our tour guides when Steve retires!!

  5. Janet Arden says

Oh, that cottage …Love the gift guides. And yes pajamas are totally expensive. I’m determined to buy some luxe, cozy ones for my daughter and daughter-in-law once I get over the sticker shock!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

I just keep thinking what is it about Pg’s that make them so expensive? But I agree Janet we do wear them forever, but they just seem pricey!!

  6. Annie Diamond says

Cindy! The cottage reminds me of the one in The Holiday…cozy, a mix of patterns, lots of books, and cozy reading spots. I’m going to try that roasted cauliflower quiche! I’ve been making roasted cauliflower a lot, but would have never thought to use it in a quiche!
    LOVE all your favorite things!
