Over 50 Fall Fashion featuring the Cloud Dress

Hello everyone from my new home on WordPress! I am still learning the ropes (it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks!) so I am a little behind with my posting.  Today I am featuring the Cloud Dress by Lisa Bayne for Artful Home.

Cloud Dress by Lisa Bayne . Feathery puckered striations drift across this cozy yet elegant bell-shaped dress, adding intriguing texture. Front and back princess seams allow the sumptuous knit fabric to glide along the body.

I love Lisa’s signature line for its casual comfortable vibe.  I ventured a little out of my comfort zone with this color. As you know I am a big fan of combining the high and he low in my decorating.  I feel the same way about fashion.  We all need a few art to wear pieces that we just love.  In this first set, I combined the cloud dress with this nuno felted wrap from Artful Home (definitely a splurge) but so gorgeous. I love felted wool, so if money were no object, I would also splurge on this Kvadrat vest in this gorgeous pumpkin color.  I am going to order these Sam Edelman Penny boots ($149 great price for a great boot).  They come in wide which will accommodate my foot issues. This wide leather cuff (also from Artful Home) provides a fun pop of fall color.  If you love a good pumpkin candle, the Pumpkin Chai from Nest is a classic favorite.

In this next set, I  created a budget-friendly edgier look for the Cloud Dress. I have a motorcycle jacket that I have worn for years.  This one from Guess is on sale at Macys and has a great look.  I LOVE this scarf from Aritzia and plan to order it to go with this dress. I don’t normally buy “cheap” shoes but these velvet loafers from Target are really tempting me.  I have a couple of pairs of “faux leather” leggings.  If you don’t, grab these from Hue at Macys ($45 but now extra 30% 0ff).  This volupsa baltic amber candle is another fall favorite.  If you want to add some “fall color” to your nails no tan lines from OPI will do the trick. This black wrap bracelet from Etsy is very budget friendly and this mustard cuff can be customized with your own words. How fun is that?

You always make me drool. Love your choices. The dress looks so easy and elegant to wear. I must look for those leather like tights. That shawl drool worthy. Now as to the font size. I’m wearing my glasses and I still can;t read what I’m writing. Please change it for Elizab4eth and me.

Wanted to second your comment about the wonderful customer service at Artful Home. My Michael Kane Kimono arrived a week early and more than enough for my mid October trip to Lyon and Burgundy. I thought it would be fun to take an american made hand painted silk to Lyon which was the the capital of silk trade for centuries.

Heather my client in Tahoe emailed me pictures! My upholsterer was to deliver on Friday and waited until Saturday due to the snow!! Crazy weather everywhere!!

    • Cindy says

Love your fashion posts! I’m considering the dress but at 5″3″ I’m wondering about the length, since the website only says knee length. any thoughts? Thanks so much!

    • Cindy says

      Hi Susan
Yes you may find the dress a bit long. It would be easy to alter without much trouble however if you love it! FYI I am 5′ 4 so if you ever wonder please ask. Artful Home has the best customer service department I have ever encountered. They really want to help. If you ever have any questions feel free to call them. They will not lead you astray.

the dress is aDORABLE–pockets are essential for me! i have a faux leather jacket identical to that guess one i snagged at forever 21 years ago and still wear all the time. i’m a minimalist, rarely adding to my wardrobe but i do need some leather since i find myself on the back of a motorcycle often…think a blonde over the hill apollonia from purple rain. 🙂

    • Cindy says

Ha! And I thought you were just a baby! I certainly hope moto leather jackets never go out of style. They are a classic in my mind!

I love these post too!!! You show me a side to fashion that I have not ventured towards yet and you make it look so chic, cool and effortless. I like that!!! Love Sam edelman for the opposite reason you do. I have very narrow feet and his shoes will usually fit my skinny foot, which is my nemesis most of the time. The only skinny thing on my body and it had to be my feet, why oh why? LOL Fun post!!! Thank you!!!
