The sky is the limit when it comes to styling a blazer. I love a linen blazer that can take you from Spring right into hot Summer days with the ability to create multiple outfits. Let’s talk about How to Style a Linen Jacket Six Chic Ways.
It is always interesting when I am doing these posts. I have an idea what I think will be the best look, but sometimes it is one that I just threw together. I have had a hard time getting on the sneakers with dresses and skirts bandwagon. I totally get the concept (especially summer dresses with white sneakers) However, my feet aren’t pretty or graceful. That being said, I styled the linen jacket with my favorite Hannoh Wessel dress (found on super sale locally last year), an Etsy linen scarf, and my comfy olukai sneaks. This turned out to be my favorite.

What I love about this white linen blazer is you can style it for a more casual look or dress it up a notch. Here I am wearing a casual jeans look with a paisley shirt from the fabulous Tancredi & Morgen (sure miss having them close), jeans from J Jill, a Rag and Bone Crossbody and Birdies Starling loafers. FYI I found a good shirt source on Etsy if you can’t get the shirt from Tancredi.

It is no secret that I am a fan of the CP Shades Lily skirt. I found this one on eBay. This color is no longer available. I did find a similar one on Etsy. I am wearing it with a shirt (from a new favorite brand Auntie Oti) which you can find at Maison Marianne in San Luis. Marianne is really helpful. If she can find it she will order it for you. I highly recommend her shop. The bag is from Dragon Diffusion (found on eBay) and the sandals are from a now closed shop but similar listed below graphic. The straw hat is from Brixton.

In this ensemble I am wearing the Life Jacket with linen pants from CP shades (similar from Banana linked below graphic), a white t-shirt, and an old Helen Kaminski hat and Laid Back London Sandals that you can find similar here on eBay. The beauty of a casual jacket like this is you can leave the buttons open or closed.

This dress was gifted to me many years ago from the Etsy shop Linen Naive. I still love it. I am styling it with a beautiful necklace from Paula Carvalho and the amazing Kork Ease sandals. These are comfort sandals at their best.

This relaxed look is comprised of the wonderful Life Jacket with a favorite (the Baird McNutt linen shirt from J Crew), mules from Artemis Design Co, linen chinos (no longer available), IBU movement slides (no longer available) and a Brixton hat.

Whether you are wearing it with a simple white tee, a great pair of linen trousers, a skirt or a dress it is personal and unique. Have a great Thursday. Cindy, before reading your blog on facelifts I thought that all of your recent pictures were pictures of your daughter! I still know that it’s you when I look at you, but it really made a difference. You are and always were a very pretty woman. I am 73 years old and you have caused me to consider surgery!
Annie Diamond says
Cindy! Your Cara Brown jacket is gorgeous! I love how you are wearing it with white (I think that’s my favorite), but also with denim, the brown skirt and polkadots…the olive dress, wide leg pants….i love every look.

YOUR POSTS ALWAYS INSPIRE ME CINDY. BTW HAVE YOU SEEN THE FLOWY SHIRTDRESSES (SHORT AND LONG) OVER AT BANANA REPUBLIC? I ORDERED ONE RECENTLY IN BROWN AND WHITE STRIPES BUT THEY HAVE OTHER COLORWAYS THAT MADE ME THINK OF YOU WHEN I SAW THEM.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Nancy
Yes I love the BR dresses. I have that striped one on my radar! You called it. Have a great weekend!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Nancy
I love that brown and white striped dress! I have considered ordering it myself!!
Ginger says
I love all of your outfits and especially your unique linen jacket!
Cindy Hattersley says
Thank you Ginger I love it too!!
Gray says
Hey Cindy! Love the jacket. And I love the first look too! I’m like you – don’t embrace the dress with sneakers thing, unless the dress is very casual, like yours here. I think it really works. And love the CP Shades skirt in brown. Great post.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Gray
Let’s chat next week!!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Gray
I am so behind on comments!!I love the CP in brown too!

I cant wait to see your posts in my email! You are so inspiring in so many ways! I love your high-low fashion outfits and cant wait to purchase a few of them! I actually cooked several of your recipes and made many of your salads. I must admit, I am a jeans girls and my goal is to elevate the jeans look with blazers, cardigans, jewelry and accessories. Trouble is my closet is shrinking! Alas! Time to slowly increase my linen separates and declutter my closet!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Marcia
I live in jeans in the winter and linen in the summer here!!
susan K. says
Loved all of this! Please tell me where to find tha tfabulous polka dot blouse??? Did I miss it?
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Susan
It is by Auntie Oti. You can search online but I cannot find it anymore. You could call Maison Marianne in San Luis and see if perhaps she can get one. She is very good about special ordering things. She carries their shirts (which I love) in nearly every color of the rainbow.

This was such an enjoyable read, Cindy. I looked up Madison Marianne…of course you love it…such beautiful choices there. I saw a blouse with blues and a dash of red and the cutest disk necklace with red thread… but just having fun… no links for to shipping to 🇨🇦.
Editing is my mantra currently… making headway and soon will bring down my box of linens to go through , keeping only my favourites and those that fit the best.
Cara Brown Designs just make my imagine soar. “Reading “ your linen blazer was so interesting…very personal and special. Thanks for this … such inspiration!
I think we are all ready for spring ! Been a rather cold April with bouts of driving rain💦 up here on Vancouver Island … however because of that , all narcissus still joyful , as well as primulas and wood anemones… the cherry blossoms and dogwood are nearly open. Sunny days predicted ahead☀️and out to muck about in the garden .
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Cath
It has been so cool here too! Are we ever going to get out of our winter clothes? It is supposedly supposed to be in the 80’s this weekend. Fingers crossed!!
Holly Cartner says
I love your outfits! They are so interesting and fun. I love the light brown linen scarf from Etsy. I see that it comes in 3 different sizes. What is the size of the one you are wearing?
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Holly
Yikes I did not realize that scarf came in different sizes. Mine is roughly 18″ x 66″. I have it in three colors and just love it!!
Susan D. says
As much as I love home decor, it is your fashion posts that I get excited about! You are so talented!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Susan
Well thank you so much. As you probably know I fell into the fashion part purely by accident!

Hi Christine
I am sorry I fixed the link. It is in there now. I have to say it is the cut of that CP Shades skirt that makes it so unique!
