A Charming Store, a Cozy Outfit and Comfort Food you Will Love

I hope you had a great week. It was a busy one here. Let’s take a look at a charming store, a cozy outfit, and comfort food you will love.

ATRIUM MERCANTILE IN ATASCADERO

If you are visiting the Paso area and love vintage and one-of-a-kind home and garden items Atrium Mercantile is a must-visit. I get into trouble nearly every time I stop in. It is owned by the charming Nick and Rose Ellen Bianchine and is located at 5900 El Camino Real. You can follow them on Instagram here.

INA GARTEN’S WEEKNIGHT BOLOGNESE

We have our dear friends visiting from Kentucky this weekend. I wanted a simple meal that I could prepare in the morning and forget. I prepared Ina’s weeknight bolognese in the crockpot and it was ready when we got home. To prepare I brown the ingredients as written in the recipe. I toss all ingredients except the cream in the crockpot on low. I add the cream about an hour before serving and top with fresh basil and freshly grated parm right before serving. I usually double the recipe and freeze the remains for another meal.

Love that cute little shop. I’m getting ready to redo the first floor of our home and I’d love to adopt a style more like what’s going on in that store.

Always enjoy your posts! I would love to try the crockpot recipe. Do you add pasta at the beginning too? How long do you cook and on high or low? Thank you!

Oh, Cindy! I’d definitely be in trouble with that cute shop nearby. You have so many wonderful shops and restaurants near your new home. Love your outfit of the week. I have a very similar sweater coat and appreciate the inspiration for how to wear it. I need that turtleneck and a pair of Birdies. And Ina in a crockpot … yes! Your lucky guests won’t want to leave. xo

Lucky me, as I have “How Easy Is That “ by Ina Garten, and looked up that recipe right away.
On my menu list for this week…thanks Cindy. Presently have a beef stew in my crock pot, and will be trying a French apple cake recipe later on this rainy Sunday afternoon.

Colours 🍁🍂this year are the best we can remember since moving to Vancouver Island 6 years ago… very dry and warm until recently, so that might be the reason. Definitely autumn now .

I am enjoying your outfit combos… gives me lots of ideas as I dive into my wardrobe for ‘new
    combinations’ to try out.
That store is a treasure trove of wonderful things… I can understand why you wanted to share it.

      Hi Cath

The one season I truly miss is fall! I bet Vancouver is beautiful right now!

Love that store Cindy! I would have a hard time not buying everything. Your bolognese is a good idea for fall! I hope you got that sweater too. xo

THAT STORE SOUNDS RIGHT UP MY GAME!
I SHALL POP OVER TO SEE WHAT A WELL STYLED LIFE HAS TO OFFER IN THE COLOR DEPARTMENT!

    Hi Cindy,

I made your pumpkin soup recipe. Rated 10 out of 10 for my pickiest eater and the rest of the family. I made enough to serve as part of an impromptu dinner for guests and again it was a hit. I could not find the granola recipe so I browned some apple Lockford sausage and put it in as I served it. Super yummy. It will definitely be on our Thanksgiving table too.
    Thank you

      Hi Cristi

I think that must have been Annie or Mary Ann’s recipe, but I am sure glad you enjoyed it!

      Hi Rachel

Yes all you need to do is click on the lighter gray text that says weeknight bolognese.

INA GARTEN’S WEEKNIGHT BOLOGNESE Sounds delicious! Did you make any changes for the crockpot? I need details! 😜

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Emily

I cook it on low for about 6 hours. I don’t add the cream until the end. I add fresh chopped basil and parm right before sering.

    Hi Cindy,
I am happy to have you remind me of the delicious Weeknight Bolognese. I’m hosting a simple meal for longtime friends and this recipe will be great. The Atrium Mercantile is now on my list for my next visit to your neck of the woods. You’ll look great in that outfit. I love sweater coats and Birdies!
