I am so happy to partner with one of my favorite home decor brands Fete Home. Fete Home is the brainchild of Jennifer Potter, former finance and operations manager for Bunny Williams Home. Jennifer’s keen design sense and curatorial eye allow her to source unique collections that will enhance your own personal style. When Jennifer contacted me to collaborate, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I admire all that she does. Let’s talk about Seven Stylish Tips for Hosting the Perfect Outdoor Party with Fete Home.
Seven Stylish Tips for Hosting the Perfect Outdoor Party with Fete Home
SET A BEAUTIFUL TABLE
I set our outdoor dining table on our patio with gorgeous tableware from Fete Home. If you remember this area before it was shutterless. We added shutters from Home Depot recently.
When I spotted these flowing ink (melamine ) plates from Fete I was in love. I would never guess they weren’t breakable. I paired them with the signature octagonal placemats (available in multiple colors), their black cotton napkins, their faceted napkin rings (also available in silver), and the fabulous wayfarer tablecloth. For this photo shoot I layered one of my plates in between the placemat and the
Fete plate to highlight the gorgeous colors of the flowing ink plate.
I used my own flatware, but the confetti flatware from Fete would be the perfect addition.
I originally chose the tortoise tumblers , but they were sadly out of stock. Jennifer sent me these charming confetti tumblers that are equally lovely.
CREATE A LOW PROFILE CENTERPIECE
I filled this great zinc bowl (from local Atrium Mercantile) with succulents. WE8 le129ave it on the table all the time. The succulents add just enough greenery and allow for a low profile without competing with the beautiful table linens from Fete.
PROPER LIGHTING
There are gas lanterns over the fireplace and string lights over the courtyard seating area but there was no electricity for outdoor lighting where we placed our table. We decided to create a battery operated light out of a vine ball from Atrium Mercantile. You can find the battery operated pendant light here. Steve attached the vine ball with a large hook and he made attached the ball with some handmade iron links we had left over from another light fixture. You could also use chain or rope. We love the ambiance it creates with just the right amount of light.
Add some candles. I love scattering mis-matched votives around a centerpiece for a collected look. These silvered votives from Fete are very similar. You can read more about my passion for that in my post The Collected Look How to Get It. They create a low key friendly glow.
COMFORTABLE SEATING
We already own these pillows and the chair cushions are a black and white stripe perennials fabric. I brought these and a lot of our outdoor furniture from our former homes. You can read my post Before and After Backyard Garden. Fete also has beautiful matching pillows at great prices that would coordinate beautifully with the wayfarer table cloth if you were using indoors. My pillows are from PB and no longer available. You can find similar here.
MUSIC
Prepare a special playlist of your favorite tunes for the evening mood.
PREPARE FOR THE ELEMENTS
Provide shade, offer pretty blankets or throws if the evening is cool, and have bug spray and sunscreen on hand. We are lucky that we have a lot of shaded area in our courtyard. The overhang extends around most of the inside courtyard. My throws are by Libeco. The Malawi chairs are from World Market several years ago but no longer available. You can find indoor ones at Wayfair here.
KEEP THE MENU SIMPLE AND CASUAL
If you are planning outdoor entertaining, keep it simple and casual so that you can enjoy the party with your guests.
