WHAT LAUREN IS COOKING THIS WEEK
My daughter-in-law is a great cook. Those of you who are regular readers know I often feature recipes that she makes. One thing we miss about no longer living close are the meals we would often share together on their days off. Lauren will still email me if she tries something she thinks we might like. I think I may take this as an appetizer to dinner at a friend’s this week. Smitten Kitchen’s Baked Feta with Tomatoes and Chickpeas sounds like a great option this time of year when cherry tomatoes are in abundance.
OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
In California, we still have a few months left of our Summer, but I know in most of the country you all are looking ahead to fall. For the outfit of the week, I am featuring an outfit that can work it’s way into fall. These jeans from Ralph Lauren’s sale really caught my eye. I know they aren’t for everyone, but I think they are fun. Everything but the cute birdies is on sale. If you haven’t snagged one of J Crew’s cashmere wraps on sale yet, do! They are so versatile. FYI their Cashmere Poncho is also on sale.

That figures that you already own the blue birdies! They must love you! I wish I had spotted them before they were sold out. You inspired me to buy the chocolate ones. I waited too long on those as well but fortunately finally found them on Ebay. I wish they would make the woven ones a staple!
Oh, Ralph … I fall for him again and again. Sigh. I’m firmly in the currently loving summer and don’t want it to end camp. That said, we’ve had lovely, mild temperatures the past couple of weeks. Once the thermostat shoots up I’ll be wishing for fall. Maura’s Instagram page is always a delight, a pick me up and a nice respite. I’ll bet you were a hit with your neighbors when you showed up with that gorgeous summer tomato dish. xo

Cindy! You have the best eye! I adore those jeans…I could see wearing them in the summer with a white t-shirt and Birkenstocks and a big cashmere turtleneck and boots in the winter.
Out tomatoes are just starting to ripen…the big ones are still very green, so it still seems like fall is far away here in Connecticut! I was not following Muara Endres, but I am now!

I love Mauras account! So much beauty and inspiration! I have made that feta/tomato dish many times but have added pasta. I will have to try it with the peas instead.
RL is classic, as for the jeans, so cute. Did you see the quilt coat? Lauren Leiss purchased one last year at the Lucketts fair and it looks amazing on. When I saw the RL jacket I thought about getting it but honestly here it is either summer or winter so I am not sure if I would wear it.
