Great Regional Magazines-San Francisco Cottages and Gardens

While working on a current project I came across a lovely kitchen that had been featured in SF Cottages and Gardens  This prompted me to take a closer look. I am continually impressed with the content of the regional magazines since many of our national publications have disappeared. The Cottages and Gardens franchise seems to be doing a great job in the areas they cover. Let’s take a look at our local version.
The most recent publication features this gorgeous home in Sonoma by the Amazing Backen, Gillam and Kroeger. I wrote about Howard Backen’s book here. My favorite book of all time. If you don’t have it in your library you should. You can buy it here.

  1. The environments photographed were beautiful and no one talks about the colors and details of the rooms of the interiors we understand that details and colors would fit right inside an apartment.

  2. What fresh rooms. I love their simplicity and the inviting, casual feel of each room.
I'll have to check out the magazine online.

  3. My childhood home in Wisconsin was floor to ceiling windows in the living room so you could enjoy the lake view. That first home makes me homesick now that my childhood home has been razed and replaced with a McMansion. I would love to curl up and take a nap on the couch in front of the fire in that first home. Do you think they would mind?

  4. I love that first family room with the blues. The state of magazines is just sad. But I do think it's a sign of the times. The internet had changed the way we get our news. Magazines are included in that.

    1. That is why many of us get our decor fix from you Joni. You put more effort into your posts than many magazines put into an article. I still love magazines because I can refer back to them. However I have to be honest Pinterest is what I use the most.
